And I fully agree, yet other relegation threatened teams managed it. Why do we have the monopoly on crap atmosphere because the team is doing bad?

I mean our fans are in fact shocking, this can be said independently of comments on how crap the team are. When you compare the graveyard of St Mary’s with some of the other teams who were relegation threatened this year it’s actually quite embarrassing.

Yep, I’m going to back those two to score a bunch. We really only need one to come good after all and I cannot believe that they’ve suddenly become awful Championship players.

We have two quality championship strikers and probably even after a mass exodus will have a quality championship spine. Honestly we are very well placed as far as I can tell. The last time we were relegated I thought we were in for a hiding but this time with some smart trades I’m reasonably confident.

This is basically how I have felt the last few games.

To be honest that’s nothing compared to the odds of us staying up.

Imagine if we win and Arsenal miss out on the title. At least we would have done something this season. I mean sure we would be perpetuating Man City’s dominance but we would be a historical footnote and Arsenal fans would never forgive us.

I dunno about that, we’ve spunked away so much money on dross that we may just be in a bit of trouble even with the parachute payments. We have the usual choice faced by clubs who go down with an oversized wagebill. We could ignore ffp and gamble on going up and hope it doesn’t go all pear shaped (as so many unfortunate clubs do) or cut our cloth massively in which case I don’t think we will be a Championship behemoth. I can’t see a huge queue of clubs banging on the door for our players with one or two exceptions.

I’m going so hopefully a good show at least. I don’t even care if we go down at this point I just want to see the team fight for everything.

I have been consistently hopeful while expecting relegation for the last several months. Still possible mathematically but the hope is gone.
