With respect there is no chance the Saudis would be interested in our players. They’re not looking to improve the league so much as they are looking to buy a million brand name signings so they can show them off and feign relevance. I’m sure someone will correct me but I believe FFP is a rolling 3 year cycle so the club doesn’t really have to worry in year 1 as long as some steps are taken and we don’t bet everything on promotion like certain clubs do.

I don't think it was odd at all? He was in the twilight of his career and wanted to move home, we allowed a great servant to do so.

It's no different than England chucking money around which the Spanish and Italian leagues have been complaining about for years. Just because now another league has even more money to spend is not a reason to throw toys out the pram given we've been doing it for years.
