  1. Absolutely loathe them, stuck in a similar situation.
  2. Mitrovic was in insane form last year, not surprising he would continue it. Rickie for instance scored 18? Goals less in our promotion season and got 15 in the prem. I know Mitrovic disappointed in the prem last time around but I suspect that was more due to Fulham’s shortcomings than his own, he is a damn good player.
  3. It is objectively weird discussing golf on this forum without Dubai Phil popping in to discuss his last round with Tiger.
  4. I vote for Right Said Fred “I’m too sexy”
  5. Hey man I didn’t commission the study 😂
  6. Well yes but largely tilted by the English retirees living there which are 21% of the country. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/sep/22/english-people-wales-brexit-research Ethnic Welsh people voted remain in the majority.
  7. Brexit feels like nothing more than Turkeys voting for Christmas as financialy there just seems to be no benefit. Anyone who says Britain must return to the EU is nuts though, why on earth would they take us back ahead of all the EU candidate countries? It would be decades before we returned so nothing for it but to make the best of it , Brexit vote won move on and look how the country can grow without direct access to the EU.

    Russia

She unresigned two days later so let’s not give her too much praise…
  9. They achieved 25% gdp growth in a year once and all that happened was Apple restructured slightly 😂 It’s mental and when the new EU tax rules come in I imagine their gdp will normalise somewhat. Malta also financially dopes with their tax regime of course though (5% effective tax to foreign owned companies). I am surprised however that the minimum wage in Ireland is higher but even considering that Wikipedia (yes I know but I’m lazy) has us as the fourth highest in Europe so not so bad on that front.
  10. Irish per capita gdp is somewhat inflated by their low population and their tax breaks to invite huge companies.
  11. UK is still a rich country being richer on a per capita basis than almost every country in Europe. We are however getting poorer in real terms which is annoying as sin.
  12. If I live in an apartment block on 2 Downing Street do I live on 2 Downing Street?
  13. Where does Rishi Sunak live? Most recent reports suggest Rishi is living in a central London flat above Number 10 Downing Street with his wife and two daughters. Change the title to Saints fan in at number 10.5 please.
  14. Love the enthusiasm loathe the singing.
  15. Maybe but the fact that international attendance has exploded over the last 10 years is surely a good sign.

    Kosovo

Sounds like Serbia might invade with the government saying they will denazify the Balkans. https://www.dailykos.com/story/2022/7/31/2113713/-War-appears-imminent-between-Serbia-and-Kosovo Between this and the troubles in Taiwan not a great time for world peace.
  17. Son always seems to enjoy playing us so I think we will get a bit of a hammering. Tough start to the season though so no point panicking if we lose.
  18. This does not seem very conservative.

    Pegging

I don’t understand what this has to do with laundry.

Please don’t make me Google pegging to see if there is another meaning.

    Russia

Given Shell and Centrica’s record q2 profits I’m not so convinced that Ukraine is the main driver of energy price increases…
  22. Super Kel was one of my favourite players of that era. Had his limitations but model pro and a great bloke. People have already mentioned the Leeds game but… the Leeds game.
  23. I like Turkish he makes me laugh.

    Russia

To be fair I don’t think Russia are using the tornado as their main armament. The majority of mlr strikes appear to be the horrendously inaccurate grad system.
  25. Public companies are subject to cronyism and inefficiencies (just take a look at historical trends in the airline sector). Certain essential industries like the post office and rail there is a strong public service argument as to why they should not be in private hands though. It’s a huge balancing act and difficult to manage.
