Aribo would be a loss tbh. He's been very good recently. Sulemana has been absent.
-
You were in west London....it happens...!
-
If Downes is out again, we have a major problem in centre midfield for Boxing Day. Anyway, Happy Xmas one and all.
-
We might be "light" at right wing....but we are absent at No 9....
-
Have to confess I quite enjoy a ton of football on TV over this period. Selfishly, I don't want a mid-season break.
-
V weird kick off time. Has a league match in England ever kicked off at 6pm before?
-
Good win. Bit laboured. Def need to sign a No 9.
-
No space anywhere really. QPR are set up well.
-
This is a bit edgy.
-
Agree we need to go on an amazing run over the next 24 games. Can probably only afford to lose 2 or 3. But if we do catch Ipswich on points, it likely follows that we will also catch them on goal difference.
-
Not sure we want any more Leeds goals now. If we do catch Ipswich and/or Leeds on points the GD is about where we want it.
-
I imagine we are looking at a loan. Maybe £1m or so in wages. I’m not persuaded we are so broke that such a cost is beyond us.
-
That was a boring match. If the ESL is anything like that, it will be hard to stay awake for many matches.
-
The whole thing is mad. But I think I want it to happen now. If the "top six" leave or get kicked out, money will be tighter for the remaining 86 league teams, but it will be way better fun. Maybe 20-30 teams who could aspire to be English champions (Saints would be one) I also think people will tire of watching Benfica v Arsenal 6 times a year (or whatever the plan is....!)
-
KWP easily so far. A good half dozen in "honourable mentions" though.
-
A while yet. But he managed that QF badly.
-
Yeah, maybe. Burnley might be an option. But he is onto his 2nd Prem team post-Saints and it isn't panning out. You'd think he'd move or go on loan in January and we must be one of 3 or 4 teams who might want to get him.
-
Why was attendance so low for the Blackburn match then (27-28K?). Was that largely away attendance being thin?
-
My first ever Saints game was a 4-0 defeat at QPR. About 1984, I think. Never forgiven them. Still have the "scar tissue".
-
Agree. It's odds against, I'd say. But not by much. He can't get a game in the Prem. Ain't likely to get many. Is lingering around on the bench. And one of the richest teams in the Championship are desperately short in the No 9 role. In a sane world, it might come together...
-
God, this is going to get tedious quickly.
-
Not sure about that. £50kpw is hardly unheard of in this division. I’d be happy for Ings to be our best paid player - that is probably £80kpw or so on a loan deal to end of season.
-
We should win this at some ease. Only very bad luck or a dire performance will derail us. 2 or 3 nil
-
Another great listen. The panel is well balanced, knowledgeable but also very self-effacing. I wonder if you might occasionally broaden out into wider topics than just the contemporary Saints news (has absence of VAR hurt or harmed us, what do we think of the Sport Republic multi-club model, state of our finances...that kind of stuff).

JB and THB have been excellent. Don't disrupt it. But there will be injuries, niggles, possibly suspensions and Cup games. JS is an excellent 3rd choice.
