I went to that game and have the program somewhere. Pretty sure Peter Beardsley played for the Whitecaps that night and that Jimmy Greaves was also on the team sheet for them. Don't remember him actually playing though?

Budgie was great fun. When saints first choice keeper he came along to stoneham and played for our college team against a German college team. He turned up in old England admiral tracksuit, I'm guessing he played for England B team at some stage. He insisted he played up front even though we obviously wanted him to go in goal. From memory he scored a couple and was by far the best outfield player on the pitch. Can you imagine any current premier league keeper turning up for a knockabout game like this!! Just shows how much the guy loved playing football.

Mine arrived today, Block 530. Bought on the 1st day of second phase.
