Lovely regain, and credit to Martin for those subs, they were the right ones at the right time. Not an easy place to go and we limited them to very little.

Not sure if this is a sarcasm or not but either way I'm absolutely gutted there isn't an option to buy Brooks at season end. It's 3 assists in not even 2 games. He's an actual touch of class and an effortless footballer. Let's also be clear, until he invoked his inner Zidane, Rothwell HAD been anonymous. He certainly turned that around in style but until that point I wasn't quite sure what position he was bought in to play.

Bloody brilliant showing, now what do we all want for Monday? For balance, I hated watching us 2 months ago. I genuinely enjoy it now, we play forward thinking, possession football, not laborious possession hunting for stats. A credit to Martin because I don't actually mind much who's in the team at the moment and I only think a few are absolute requirements (THB, AA, Downes, KWP). To that point, I thought the substitute of THB let them back into the game somewhat, though I don't think we were fully in danger at any point... That said Bazunu made a couple of important saves, both from Stephens's errors, who was, for me a weak link today even with the limited time he had. I Think Smallbone deserved his MOTM as well though you could make an argument for a few. That said he's making the 'late run from midfield' a bit of a thing which is great to see. Notable turnaround in form from Manning as well though he's still the weakest of the back 4 by some margin. Either way, lovely job. Let's not lose again and win the league. Yeah fuck it, I said it 😁

In fairness to KWP, I think he was blowing out of his arse by that point having basically run the creativity from that wing. Was sloppy but I'll let the player of the season (for me) off on that one. Charles looked good but he needs the occasional kick up the arse on the concentration front

We didn't just compare our style of football with that of classic Barca teams, did we? It's not the same. There's passing for passing sake, and there's what that team did. When we play forward thinking progressive football like vs Leeds (one half) and Cardiff, we play an ultimately boiled down version of that Barca team (to be expected we don't have the same level of personnel) but when we don't it's plodding, pass pass pass for no other reason than to win % stats. And it is boring and not winning us as many games as we'd like/need.

Zzzzzz. Look back at where this conversation came from and you'll find plenty of balance. It's just I didn't want to write a summary of the Wednesday game having just applauded the performance (note I was applauding the performance) of today's game. I'm neither wrong or right until the season ends, and until that point I think, prior to yesterday, we were keeping the ball without doing anything with it. That was the same on Wednesday where we needed a moment of brilliance from the one very clearly prem player we have. Thus, instead of writing all of that out, it was simply easier to write 'we were shit' because in my opinion, we were. And I'm not alone in that.

Yeah the CF situation and Glass Stewart is a concern I think because it could come back to cost us later on in the season. I do hope we have contingency in place for Jan but it's so bloody hard to find at that time of the year. If only we had a CF out on loan we could recall...
