  1. Again you are taking things out of context a little; "maybe we give him a go" doesn't scream "clamour", at least from me, for TP. BUT two goals against a very shit championship side doesn't fool me/you into thinking Archer is the answer either because he was flailing and ultimately failing to score against a competent prem team in Utd and a meh defence in Ipswich. His record in the prem for balance is 42 games/apps for 4 goals and yet everyone seems to have seen something to suggest he'll come good. The only thing he has going is age at 22. And yes you do. The clamour is centred around being in a fairly dire situation, having had a poor start against moderate opposition (aside from Utd). Carillo is derided because everyone and his dog knew he was going to be shit except the odd "give him a chance" crew. Carillo had scored nowhere throughout his career. Onuachu had scored multiple goals across multiple seasons across multiple leagues. The difference in opinion really isn't that hard to understand.
  2. GET OFF THE FENCE, YOU MUST CHOOSE I mean joking aside, who would you all start with and why as our striker(s)?
  3. Don't think anyone is really having an argument here chap, just a discussion on a discussion board to while away the day. All pretty cordial thus far. But I agree about them not being signed, though I understand the TP punt more than I will ever understand the GC punt.
  4. I am glad someone else got to this before me, and whilst there isn't a HUGE difference between the actual numbers (about an hour in play in favour of Carillo in the prem vs TP and 1 more start) AND to confirm I am not sure TP is the answer either, BUT he is still here AND, unlike AA, Archer, BBD, Stewart, the Tea Lady, toilet cleaner and 99% of fans on match day HAS scored in a top league (again whether those leagues are competitive or not). Therefore instead of watching AA not lead the line, Archer flail around like a fish out of water, BBD run and fall over and Stewart get injured, maybe we just give him a go. What's the worst that could happen, we don't score again? The alternatives, I guess is what I am getting at, don't fill me with much confidence either. As it happens from the in crowd I'd rather give Stewart a go but that's more out of hope than expectation.
  5. Because he undoubtedly is. Carillo was utter shite and I think some have forgotten just how utterly terd he was. TP (jokes) has actually scored everywhere he's been, even if those leagues are admittedly somewhat less competitive.
  6. My issue with Archer is a) we don't have the luxury of time and b) he's another one that's never scored goals anywhere consistently. That being said I don't mind him actually being in the attacking 3, just not the central man. He doesn't look clinical enough and he doesn't look strong enough. I'd be inclined to start Stewart, or, God forbid, Onuachu, and play AA or Archer in Frasers spot (who always seems to be a better sub than starter).
  7. If your opening gambit is "my view is that we played pretty well, deserved a win (thanks especially to Ramsdale)" I think it shows how much we didn't deserve to win. If you're relying on a keeper to keep us in it, we probably didn't deserve to win. I watched. We had 1 fucking shot on target (out of 2) in the first half. Against Ipswich. Our subs killed us, and frankly the starting line up killed us, as did some utterly noddy summer transfers. Can't echo Duckhunters comments enough, staying up should not be some insurmountable challenge for some cash poor Championship team, and hope (rather than belief) is the only thing I have at the moment because I see a manager and first team (as picked) out of its depths.
  8. It always has been, I understand the descent directed at Stephens because he's horrific, but he's covering for an almost equally horrific Bednarek. THB at least has the argument that he's young, on his side.
  9. Yep, we seem to have the largest number of inert strikers ever. Might as well give Tall Paul a go at this rate. I've revised my number up up 69
  10. 😂😂😂😂 still pissing about with possession even in this dire situation. Pathetic.
  11. There it is
  12. Love that from Stewart. Some actual hold up. Please score. I honestly want him to do well. I NEED an actual number 9 to be decent because we've 68 of them, all of which are terd at this level.
  13. Two weeks, you know the drill
  14. But crucially, not. So, really, not great and hasn't started well this half either. Archer another miss. 🙄
  15. We have one shot on target, at home, to Ipswich. That's pretty decent is it? They have 4. I'm not impressed at all. Agree with the Fraser assessment though, I never think he should start to be fair, good sub option.
  16. The goal is hiding what is actually still a poor performance. 1 shot on target (thankfully falling to Dibling) and a shit ton of unnecessary wastage and errors from the back.
  17. Lovely by Fernandes. Looks like a lovely bit of business.
  18. So far he is everything you'd expect. He's basically just another AA.
  19. Geeeettttt in Dibling
  20. Pretty quick I'd imagine given that we've done the same thing we've fucked up in the first 4 games.
  21. About as fair assessment as anyone can give that. If we were winning it would feel like a much better 'brand'. As we aren't, it feels pointless, ploddy and frankly a bit shit. We just don't get it forward quick enough (amongst other glaring issues).
  22. Was it because you were still not convinced he actually existed OR whether he was two weeks away from taking the penalty? That said I thought he looked utterly unfazed by everything, raring to go (mentally even if he had fuck all time on the pitch) and I STILL have hope that he might be just what we need.
  23. Even this pen shootout is boring 😂
  24. So you concede that he has then? I'm not going to bother dissecting whether he was any good as the 9 or not... As it goes I'd disagree but again, I don't care enough. That said he'd be better there than AA who was anonymous again today. Which I think was the point of the first post on this. Bringing this back on track...Good to see Stewart score his pen. All takers been good so far
  25. I don't care enough to look for them and I believe you and somewhat agree with your assessment of him. He's more of an 'attacker ' than a traditional no 9 but he HAS played there, as a 9, through the middle plenty of times. So, people asking why he's not there now; it's understandable.
