If this is true, then its outrageous. Actions like this will lower morale among backroom staff to levels not seen since the dark days of Lowe.

Great no Barnard for Saturday. Why is being a Saints fan so bloody depressing? -

Always knew we would lose tonight. The feelgood factor from Saturday didnt last long. -
Although i try to go to as many games as possible,i have found myself this season not going to any cup games so far.Theres more than one reason for this for instance, I hate midweek games as its such a rush to get away from work, get changed etc, then spend an hour getting home. Also i think the prices have been way too high for the first round of games in the cups,a tenner plus kids free or for a fiver would be better. Last point i want to make is the fact the now ST holders have had to stump up all the money in one go,there seems to be no benefit or discounts in having a ST.I think the way us fans have been treated so far is with total contempt. So until the clubs attitude changes,i will only go to league games.

Dalek,it doesnt matter how hard you shout,it wont make Hoddle come back. But thanks anyway for a little light relief on a day filled with bad news.

I think we may see a record low attendance for this one, unless of course the new manager is announced.

Im totally surprised and disappointed by Pardews sacking.Just when it seemed that the team had finally got it together. This is utter madness. Also i cant see anyone whos available dropping down to our level.

Well said Robsk II

Agree with this.

Totally agree with you Dune about Mugabe.I think hes been a disaster for his people. Before he came to power,Zimbabwe had a good economy, one of the best health services in the world and was the most successful self governed African country. Now its economy is worse than Germany in the 30s. As for when we first went to South Africa,we fought wars with most of the people there including the Zulus and the Boars,so i guess we did invade it in a sense(though im not questioning your knowledge,i will have to look it up later). Times were changing in the 1960s and we could not have held onto Rhodesia without an unwanted struggle,so rather than that(like we did with a lot of our previous empire), we withdrew.Any PM would have done the same,so you cant blame Socialism for that. But i cant believe you say Ian Smith wasnt rascist? The black South Africans had no rights what so ever under any of the white led governments, including Smiths and things only became slightly better for them when Mandela came to power.
-
The thing is once we had exploited those countries we had invaded,we withdrew without leaving a decent system in place and leaving them to fend for themselfs and by doing this,we caused more problems that could have been avoided. The wars between India and Pakistan were perfect examples of this.

A great Saints win,the Skates are bottom of the table,Bournemouth threw their game away, the weather is going to be good and its a Bank holiday. If Carlsberg did weekends........... -
Totally agree.Same type of stuff has happened to me and like your experience aintforever,i found the police to be useless to.

In the control room at St Marys, the police can link up to any of the cctv cameras in town,so if a large group of troublemakers are making their way to the stadium, they can be intercepted. They can also pinpoint any seat they wish and take pictures of any person at the game. The cameras are state of the art and can zoom in and capture any image of someones face, thus allowing an easy i.d of that person. So why would the police want to send a copper with a cheap handheld camera into the crowd and film fans?It doesnt make sense, but there again sense and policing at the stadium dont seem to go hand in hand.

Tough economic times ahead for the masses

Blimey badger your proposals sound a lot better than the ones put in place by the Condem government. Get into polictics and i will vote for you!! -
If you get the time, try to visit the town of Sainte-Mere-Eglise on the road to Cherbourg. Its well worth a visit. They have a dummy of an American paratrooper hanging from the church to signify the sacrifice made by the 82nd and 101st airborne troops who were dropped on top of the village, while the Germans shot at them. There is a great museum in the town which also has original gliders, uniforms, tanks etc. The people there are welcoming as well.

Good for you Dune. Theres a lot to be said for those old radios,i especially like the way they were designed and the way the valves used to take an age to warm up. I have a lot of old 78rpm records (early Elvis,Bill Haley etc),and i would much rather play them, than listen to any cd or computer enhanced version of the same artists.I think they sound more original. You should keep hold of your radio mate because they tend to hold their price and are always in demand. If you manage to find an old radiogram, give me a call.

I think it is only right that if football players can demand money for their image rights, then as a football fan i can ask for money if the police take my picture. I will be sending a bill to Hampshire constabulary and i hope the police continue to film me at the next home match, thus earning me more dosh.
-
My mate forgot his ST at the Plymouth game and was told a re-issued one was free for the first time, but after that he would have to pay £30,but this would be refunded when he next showed the ticket office his forgoten ticket. So really apart from the inconvienance of having to pay £30 upfront the second time,it would cost you anything.

Whatever the crowd numbers,it was a shame we couldnt at least exceed 30,000 to say thankyou to Markus.
-
Its probably something to do with Saints fans being graded as cat C in the league of naughty fans. But i still cant understand why there was so much effort put into filming the Northam today?Does anyone know if the police fimed any of the other stands?
-
Ha ha.I can just see it now. "What was he wearing?" "A Saints top" "Oh ok then".
-
Can you see the police acting the same way at a rugby or cricket match?I for one am sick and tired of the way us football fans are treated by the police. There was no reason what so ever for that copper filming the fans today. As i said earlier, they can pin point every seat at SMS from the control room if they want. As for anyone causing trouble at the pompey game,i doubt very much if that was the reason for the filming.
-
That copper had no right what so ever to point a camera into the crowd while the game was on. If they want, the police from the control room, can pinpoint any seat in the stadium,so for the police to be so in your face is just inflaming any situation that might occur. Yet another complete waste of police time and money.
