If its the same Beattie from 2002/3,yes please. If its the Beattie from Everton,no thanks.

Well said. I was also on that march and saw a cross section of people, including families with young children and there wasnt any trouble.
-
Never ever understood the early leavers. It makes me laugh that we sing to away supporters "Is there a fire drill?" Just as half the Northam are leaving at around 80 mins.

Brillaint post!

How? So a family on a low wage should pay the same as someone who earns millions and lives in a big house with lots of land? The Poll Tax covered what the council tax does now. So it covers the police, fire service bin collections etc.So how does a family use more than a millionaire?
-
Ok Delldays the main reason the Poll Tax was so hated was because it was so unfair that a millionaire should pay the same tax as a person on a low income. The tax was based on per person,so if you had a family in a council house and a millionaire in a mansion living on his own,the family would pay a lot more.

Wrong! Wrong! And wrong again!!!

Parking Ticket Advice - Private company
rocknrollman no2 replied to GenevaSaint's topic in The Lounge
If its a private company, dont pay it because it takes a lot of effort to go to court,so they dont bother. My wife had a ticket from a private company in West Quay and didnt pay, despite warning letters, they never followed it up. Good luck. -
Ive been on anti Poll Tax marches in London and Southampton. Ive also attended the first anti war march when over a million and a half people were in london(was also filmed on that march by the BBC). Went on a couple of anti hunting marches, though they were quite low key. Did all the anti Lowe stuff. Also went last Saturday on the anti cuts march, again in London. No doubt there will be a few more coming up soon.

So the global catasphrophe caused by the banks had nothing to do with it then? Still tell a Tory untruth long enough, then people will start to believe it.
-
Wow this has to be a first?? A Man Utd fan actually living in Manchester?lol.

As i said in an earlier post, the Condems put the tax on petrol up by 3p in January and then drop it by a 1p in the budget, yet are still plaining to increase it YET AGAIN in a few months. So all the spin and bullsh-t about helping the poor motorist is utter nonsense!!
-
Im happy the personal tax allowance has risen, but its a drop in the ocean compaired with the rise in vat,the cost of living and the fact that businesses are losing contracts and laying people off.I think even the government are getting it wrong, because they expected the economy to rise by 2.4%,but its only managed a poor 1.7%.
-
So what does the budget mean to the average person in the street? Beer up 4p. Cigs up 34p. Wine up 15p a bottle. Spirits up 54p a bottle. Petrol up 2p a litre on Januarys price because of this government and its going up again later. Company tax cut a little(wont make no difference to anyone). Oh but the money we can earn before we pay tax has increased slightly.wow. This was a poor budget and things will continue to get worse while this government continue to slash and burn our economy and jobs.
-
He hasnt really cut the price of fuel, because in January he hiked up the price by 3p,only to take off a 1p now.So we are still paying more.
-
But i would argue that no fans on here have nearly destroyed the club!!!

I thought he only had one arm(the one he used to give every decision to Sheff Wed).

We do our best! But i have noticed lately that about ten minutes before the end,a lot of people in the Northam start to leave. This is not good.So if you are one of these fans, please stay until the game ends.

I was very impressed with all of the famous people they had on the show. There must have been a big effort by the organisers to make this years show the best ever and it showed. I thought the films they did from Africa were very moving and im so glad that they have raised over £74 million, which is the highest ever. Well done to all involved.

Bournemouth 1 - 3 Saints - Post Match Reaction
rocknrollman no2 replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Good post ossie1 and thanks for being dignified in defeat. Its a shame that a few of your fans want to have this so called rivalry with Saints, because a lot of Saints fans always used to to have a soft spot for Bournemouth. I am feeling fantastic tonight after that result and hopefully we can keep our winning ways until we reach second place, although i think Posh may be a threat to us. Anyway im off to enjoy a bottle of scotch and watch the Football League show and see our three seconds of fame. Good luck for the rest of the season ossie1,because i would love it if all three south coast teams were promoted. -
Who were the fans that kept chanting "Pussy, pussy, pussy" last season? That was mildly amusing.
