This is soooo bloody boring. No shots after half an hour. Russ - goals win games. Not possession.

RM will be schooled by Dyche. Everton will get in our faces and close us down not giving time for tippy tappy stuff. We give it away and they go score. I can see a comfortable 0-2 loss. Man City want to play perfect football and score perfect goals. Everton will just get stuck in and win ugly and easily. Won’t give us the space that City did. We won’t be ‘brave’ and Everton won’t allow any ‘process’ nonsense. Goals win games, we won’t get any.

Both talk a good game, promise much, deliver disappointment…

I think that this weekend we have secured 20th place and we won’t be leaving it for the rest of the season sadly. Already 5 points behind Palace in 17th and 8 points off of Everton in 16th. Not even November yet and we are pretty much doomed. I can see why changing the manager would be a waste of time, even with a different playing set up, it’s extremely unlikely we could claw our way out of the drop zone. Poor recruitment in the summer has scuppered any chance we realistically had. Edwards, Woods, Fraser, BBD, Taylor, all summer signings, not one of them got into the pitch yesterday. Stocking our squad with mediocrity who can’t improve a 4th place Championship side. Never going to end well sadly. Typical Saints recruitment really - quantity over quality, who we will struggle to get rid of now.

Detest is too strong a word I agree. I do dislike him, he comes across as arrogant and can’t take any ‘difficult questions’ without getting shirty with the interviewer. Just like I disliked Nathan Jones - another arrogant bloke - many disliked him without knowing him - just for the way he comes across. James Corden another arrogant bloke I can’t stand - but I don’t know him. (just like in real life, you meet someone face to face and normally you make an opinion on what they are like - nice guy, alright, bit of a knob, absolute twat). We all do it, subconsciously maybe, but we all do - it’s human nature. Ruben Selles and Ralph were never anything but decent blokes - on my human likeability scales anyway. Nathan and Russ Martin sadly fall into the arrogant category, not a trait I find endearing personally. Probably why Keir and Co come across as dislikeable too. Don’t hate them, definitely don’t like them though!

You are one of the naysayers who are not understanding what RM is trying to do or build with Saints. You’ll be burnt at the stake as a witch for not believing in the system or process. The bravery and courage…. RM speaks such guff. Worryingly I think he believes what he says too. Total fraud and off with the fairies if he thinks his take on football is going to work. It isn’t and won’t in the top flight with a bottom four side. Totally deluded man.

I wonder if Pep told Russell how brave and courageous his Saints team had been…🤦‍♂️ Just to give that ego a nice belly rub.

If Man City had to win by 5 goals today to win the league they would have done, no question. They weren’t bothered, played in Europe and again next week. We made it a nice stroll for them, and contributed virtually nothing to one of the most boring games ever seen. Possession football? I’ll pass on that…😉

As an advert for possession football, it’s a fail. What an absolute borefest. One team tippy happy around their own half, other team tippy tappy around the opposition half trying to craft the ‘perfect’ goal.

I feel for both sets of fans watching this. More atmosphere on the moon. Man City can’t be arsed and Saints haven’t the talent to do anything about it… Cue Archer with a very decent attempt. Shows what having a go at goal can do for you… What do you reckon Russ - have another one second half?

And how can you prove that playing in a different style wouldn’t have got more goals, less conceded and more points. It’s a crap ‘style’ monotonous and boring. Nah Wolves will blow their chances by doing the double over us. They have had a pretty tricky (compared to us) set of opening fixtures, and I genuinely believe they will get themselves out of the bottom three before too long - playing us will help in that respect! In no way are they as bad as we are.
