I salute you sir. Next time anyone sees him, give him both barrels verbally. Lowe may be delusional (christ only knows how many times I've slagged him off), Wilde may be a fantasist (with early promise only to fall short), and Leon may sometimes let his heart rule his head, but all three of them combined fall short of the ineptitude and sheer lack of respect that Askham has shown towards this Football Club, the fans, and the City of Southampton. I hope that if Mr Fry watches this forum that he ensures that Mr Askham can have NO say in the future of this club. He is the core architect of our problems.

If not, somebody should have today. If you read this Mr Askham, please do not go again. You have contributed more than anyone to the mess we now find ourselves in. You obviously have hide thicker than Lowe to think that you can just turn up and not take any of the blame. HTH you ended up in the Directors Box is a puzzling and worrying mystery to me. Don't you get involved again with the club that we all love..go home, enjoy your retirement and spend your money.

Well, apologies first as I did post some feedback, but on another thread. Lawrie was very entertaining, seeing as we were in a room of Sailing Club members he had to mix up football stories with other sporting ones. I got to speak to him afterwards and he did say that the situation at the club was much worse than they ever thought it would be. They (I assume he meant him and Leon) had been at the club I believe. Didn't slag Lowe off, just basically said (as he did on TV) that the time for blame had passed, the club can hopefully go back to the 'family club' that it once was. He did get asked a question about 'What do you think about commercialisation in Football' to which he replied 'I don't know what you're on about!!'. Managed to get a question in, asking him how he managed to keep the Keegan signing a secret - apparently it involved many phone calls, and a hotel in Knightsbridge...and a hallway light from Germany (Keegan was in Hamburg as you may remember!). TBF I'm sure Lawrie has his flaws (don't we all) but I don't really care - he's the only manager in our history to deliver silverware and as such he has been someone I've looked up to since childhood, standing on a stool in the Milton End. Leon was there as well, had a table with LPE. Didn't get chance to chat.

But if that was recent...it would have been Keith Granger not paid, not Webster.

The Local Auth had to sell the site in order to fund the new Hospital on the outskirts of the town. Not sure how/when planning went through, but Linden have, in the last 8 weeks started Phase 2 of the development - which was obviously looking unlikely 3 months ago. When the developers starting building again, you know they are getting more optimistic about the future. Mind you, I think that Eastleigh BC have enough on their plate at the moment (with that story in the Echo today...scary stuff).
