  1. Gordon Strachan will be Sporting Director... ;-) Ricky Lambert will have scored his 25th of the season.. Rasiak will be shopping at Waitrose in Lymington with the Mrs...
  2. Remember I suggested Sam Vokes would have been worth a go...many laughed. Stay tuned..more pearls to follow...haha
  3. Wish he did have a monkey round his neck :-)
  4. Because he probably would have had a plan to buy the club back on the cheap and have full control of the train set. Don't tell me you didn't believe he wouldn't at least try. We still haven't got to the bottom of Pinnacle yet have we?
  5. Yep..think you're right..we ended up with Ian Andrews instead I think... Seem to remember the Cowans link as well..Rideout's a Lymington guy, he always used to go up to Wellworthy's Club after games, even when playing at Everton..think he's is the US now... We've had a few progress..Russ Perrett (Bmth & Skates.)..Sam Vokes is from Lymington as well.
  6. Cheers for the response. From speaking to one of my mates (ironically a Pompey fan) he seems quite disillusioned by it all - 'I'll believe it when I see it' is what he said to me. Storrie seems like Mr Teflon though doesn't he? After all, he was the one who negotiated all these top money contracts - I mean £110k pw for Campbell??? - he wheels out Al Fahim to sit in the stands before the deal is done...and seems to backtrack quicker than a cleaner walking into Jordan's hotel room...
  7. FMPR...honest question here. How is old Saggychops viewed down your way now? Milan seems like a saint in comparison I bet.. (no pun intended)..
  8. I think we all forget how good Chris Nicholl was at the helm....remember at the time we thought 7th was not a good finish.. How wrong we were. Ok, signing Alan McLoughlin aside...what was it he had ? Salt deficiency or something? Just remembered something else... Milos Drizic ....we couldn't sign him due to work permit problems, but we got Ruddock!
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0StQKf5NRp4 I thought that it would be good...to see again how we destroyed the 'mighty' Reds... My favourite bit (listen closely) at 5mins in, just after Rideout hits the post..is the bloke who shouts.. 'You lucky b@stard Dalglish..!' Good reminder for some of the younger posters on here why us oldies (even at 34) get sentimental...;-)
  10. Not being funny, but couldn't the club use the knowledge of the posters above? It could then be followed up by more research..and viewings surely? Less expense for the company as well.
  11. I admire your positivity Nick...but I can't see it. Their bubble has burst and they are a car crash waiting to happen. We had Pinnacle, they have AlFahim.... I have no sympathy for the Skates, they 'lived the dream' under ol'Saggy Chops and are now reaping what they have sown...their gloating over our predicament was not nice. You can't build a football club on sand. At least we had the stadium and the fanbase to sell the club to others...what have Poopey got? A stadium that is more decrepid than The Dell would ever have been, and a fanbase that can't even fill their ground on the best day. Normal order in football on the South Coast will be restored..in time.
  12. I'm off to Gothenburg next week...I'll have a look. ;-)
  13. They loved our situation..what goes around comes around I guess....
  14. Indeed.. Is that Phil Boyer in your avatar? If my memory serves me correctly, you could never buy that kit...or a Yellow version used a few times of the Rank Xerox 'Keegan' kit...... I'm a bit anoraky like that..
  15. GM...brilliant. I hope Rupert sees this and has a laugh.
  16. I think to be honest we did need to know more about Pinnacle. FF was being questioned on here yesterday after a post he made which gave some information about the leveraged debt - and some asked him to elaborate - which he now has. I can see Alps' view regarding the past, as surely we need to put all of this behind us - part of me has that little niggle that the Pinnacle debarcle was part of an evil plan a la Dr Evil...but hey he's gone hopefully never to show his face again. We move on we move up.....it's a new day it's a new dawn; Can we have Jan Paul Saiejs back?
  17. Leveraged Debt is an interesting subject line to follow. In TL's line of business (financial) commercial lending at present is a) Difficult to obtain; b) Large commission is there to be earned. Getting involved would have been a gamble, but if paid off just may have paid handsomely. Would love to hear TL's side of events, but I'm sure he's been advised to keep quiet.
  18. Business Link was and is fantastic. Get yourself booked onto one of their FREE courses...! Alliance & Leicester do a cracking Business Bank Account with no charges (ever!)...(I don't work for them honest - but it was the best deal I could find). Registered my Limited Company online for under £50. Take the opportunity then to register a domain name, even if you don't use it straightaway. Also recommend the 'Starting your Own Business for Dummies' book..sounds daft but worth shelling out the £15 for. Got decent business phone deal through Opal - which is the business part of Carphone Warehouse. BT have an offer on at the moment for free line installation (normally £120). Hope this helps.. (PS I arrange mortgage finance but if you need an accountant, let me know - mine is an avid Saints fan - home and away - top bloke!)...
  19. I don't think he was on Rupey's wish list last season - I think that was Stuart Baxter. Was at Bmth with Joe Roach when he was Caretaker.
  20. Snowballs...all the best - stay strong.
  21. Gutted...such a nice man. RIP Bobby.
  22. Oh grow up. So if a company you were a (former) shareholder of went into administration, should any of the principal officers who oversaw the decline remain? Don't think it's entirely fair on other previous failures then if he gets to stay - do you? - so, should Rupey come back as well to fit that argument? Of course not. I bet you were blowing a gasket over McMenemy being in the Directors Box recently weren't you???
  23. Hmmm strange how someone who was aware of the overspending under Wilde etc and that has strong links to Lowe et al can be allowed to remain. Sorry - sure he's good at his job but we need a CLEAN SWEEP. Remember he was the Finance Director of a PLC that went into admin....what other walk of life would allow you to remain other than football??
  24. Yep...reminds me of the standard of players we USED to sign. Daft and stupid if we overlook him.
  25. Ahhhh..I have it. We'll find out on Friday. Let's not start a 'When will we know' thread now... In Markus, Nicola, Andy and Pards we trust...can we fit that on a car sticker???
