  1. What's happened to that then? Last home friendly pre-season - normally the Ted Bates game. Anyone know why it wasn't yesterday?? Also, it narks me when we play at home in the friggin away kit............
  2. This week our neighbours could go to the wall (with a little luck) Just 12 months ago that could have been us. But for Cortese and Markus. For that reason alone, he can run the club as he sees fit. As for the other staff at SMS - it's simple. If it's THAT BAD, leave. We finally have a businessman at the helm WHO WANTS US TO BE SUCCESSFUL. What's wrong with that?! I wish Cortese was here when Burley was in charge...that numpty would've been gone a whole lot quicker. We SHOULD walk this league, end of story.
  3. I have a 7" single from the '84 Cup Run. I seem to remember Danny Wallace being one of the players banging on a saucepan in the studio to create sound effects.
  4. Have you applied directly to a particular lender or through a broker? The reason I ask is that the lending policy between lenders can be hugely different. If your employer could confirm to the lender your basic contracted hours, then it's then a case of assessing your payslips/P60 or your SA302's. A lot of lenders only take up to 50% of additional earnings that aren't guaranteed. Say you earn £20k per annum and have averaged £5k overtime, then they may assess your income as £22,500. Obviously they will take into account any credit commitments you have and the level of your deposit. The mortgage market is a different proposition to even a year ago - not as bad as the press tell everyone, lenders are being extremely cautious so you'll find it the same questions in most places. PM me with any specific q's you have and I'll help where I can.
  5. Like that website TDD. Reckon we should have a caption comp? Don't mention the 'truncheons'....
  6. Oh it's nothing new. I remember when I was a kid my Nan watching 'House Party' on Southern - hell yeah I'm that old. Same principle as Loose Women. More 'bloke friendly' in those days though. The thing is the whole 'equality' bollix. If you had 5 blokes sat around talking about their piles, I bet you wouldn't get your own show.
  7. I think he means the signing of Keegan in 80. NO-ONE saw that coming....that was the original marquee signing.. We also used to squeeze two or three good seasons out of quality vets - christ we were almost famous for it. Mick Mills? Psycho? Osman? Moore? It's no surprise to me that when we become successful again, that will be the winning mix. Youth & Experience. Lawrie's way of operating - often copied, rarely bettered. Redknapp take note.
  8. Oh how I love it when the Skates go - 4-1 this 4-1 that. Well let's see. Last season - Owners? Pompey 4 Potless Wonders Saints 1 Wonderful Liebherr. I'm going to really enjoy this season when the order of football on the South Coast is finally restored.
  9. Ok, this is lifted word for word from Matthew Dunn's column in the Express yesterday.... ---------- David James may not have been offered a new contract by Portsmouth, but the cash-strapped club are recruiting at some levels at least. Successful applicants for the position of ticket seller for their new matchday 50/50 draw will be : good communicators, confident with numbers, able to deliver excellent customer service, used to dealing with money and able to maintain a professional image at all times. It is just a shame that the same stringent criteria were not applied to some of the club's recent owners. --------- I'm not making this up. BTW, if the FL have backtracked quickly on allowing the Skates to sign players, well that makes a mockery of that email they sent me earlier in the week....
  10. RESPONSE FROM FOOTBALL LEAGUE Thank you for your email. Due to the current position of Portsmouth FC, The League is currently monitoring many aspects of the club due to its position of being in administration, one of which is their playing squad. As you can appreciate in the current situation we are therefore unable to also comment or speculate on any resolution at this moment, or on any specific player or ownership queries. No decision will be taken relating to any Football League action until the administration exit process in place at the Club becomes clearer. Kind Regards Amanda Amanda Craig Customer Services Administrator The Football League Limited Email - enquiries@football-league.co.uk http://www.football-league.co.uk
  11. +1 She looks tighter
  12. Right....emailed to enquiries@football-league.co.uk ------ Good morning, I write to you as a football fan since childhood. Football to me, has always been about fair play and honesty. The influx of Sky TV money to the Premier League, and now Championship has in some ways encouraged teams to 'think big' in order to compete. With challenging to succeed comes an element of risk - overspending can cripple clubs who subsequently get relegated, and in the example of Portsmouth FC we have seen a decline in 'car crash' proportions. It is yet to unfold as to whether certain individuals who drove that club into the ground will face prosecution (as they should). The fans of PFC will be suffering for many years to come as a result of, well, blatant cheating by those running the club. Fore example, signing players that they knew they could not afford. Imagine my shock to see that the local newspaper, the Portsmouth News, indicating in an article that Portsmouth intend to flaunt your own rules in order to enhance their playing squad for the 2010-11 season. Here is the link to the particular story, which indicates their plan. Hardly fair to teams like AFC Bournemouth who played under a 'proper' embargo on transfers, is it? http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonlatest/The-number39s-not-up-for.6426689.jp I would hope that as custodians of the 'beautiful game' that you do not let this happen.
  13. One thing which continues to bother me... Who was behind the Merrington 'Asturius' bid?! I remember at the time that they had rented office space at the Regus.
  14. 'Listen, I would have completed the forensic investigation, but I've been reading through 580-odd pages of the Saints Forum'
  15. Altogether now...... ' H M R C ' It's fun to play with the HMRC You can pull the wool over some You can fool all the boys But you can't roll over the.... ' H M R C ' 'They are not getting away with it' 15/07/2010
  16. 'MMMMMMRRRRRRRR GRRRIIIMMMMSSDALE !!!!' I'm back. Wouldn't miss this for the world...
  17. Right....checked on Standard instead of Enhanced...whooopppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! I can rant at 90mph again now. CHEATING SKATES
  18. So it's bye bye Vantis..... http://www.moneymarketing.co.uk/1014355.article?cmpid=MME01&cmptype=newsletter
  19. Anyone know how I can get my text to show up quicker when I type? Have changed to the Enhanced Option, but it's so F'N slow.
  20. Looks like the perfect residence for a Saints Chairman. Reckon Markus might want a forest residence....? http://www.savills.co.uk/residentialsearch/quickassetstream.aspx?type=highqualitybrochure&pID=268979
  21. You think we're 'twisted with hate'?????!!?? Priceless. Have you been on the Snooze (sorry, Ostrich Times) website lately? Anyone who doesn't claim to be blueblooded has their comments deleted, just outside of spite. The skates who post on there delete comments from any fans (I've seen Brum fans being accused of being Scum just because they don't agree with you lot)... Nice to see that you decide that everyone doesn't give a toss about 'Terry the Builder' on here. In fact many on here have supported the work some of your fans have done to reimburse the St Johns etc. It's your bloody club who doesn't give a monkeys about Terry et al. There's a whole world of difference between our admin and yours. Even down to the choice of administrator. Our admin only came in because he checked that the club could be run within its means during the process...... Your admin only came in as he was bankrolled - I wonder how many businesses have been bankrolled through admin processes by one individual - who, if he cared that much, would have bankrolled it BEFORE ADMIN. Not many........
  22. Ironically it mentions dealings with Gaydamak Snr....here we go again..... Maneh-Gaydamak-Chinarai
  23. Fair play to PompeyinReading for coming on here..the funny thing is, they slate us and Markus in particular without doing their homework. IF they hated us as much as we dislike them, they'd KNOW we had no debt attached to StMarys... Although ReadingPompeyFan is nice and polite, you can't deny that as a whole, the Pompey fans STILL don't get it. One more time then..... 'Pompey were NEVER living within their means, even when they signed Campbell etc it was all based on DEBT'
  24. That blog is ace, especially the comments. Rather some sane comments from the Saintly chap. A Moroccan King? They're getting pipe dreams over that???? Could be Hassan Kachloul on a wind up......
