  1. SAAB owner Spyker loses chinese funding?! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-13371201?utm_source=twitterfeed MUUUWAHAHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
  2. Hmmmmmmmm........chairman doesn't stock the offices with envelopes?
  3. Religion. At the root of most of this world's evils.
  4. Oh dear Mack me old mucker... The medicine starts this summer...the long, drawn out decline of your beloved club is much more fun than a short sharp execution, which had PCFC been anything other than a football club is what would have happened. Now, I wonder if they're still trading solvently or not....Solvent abuse is a serious matter.
  5. Arry's interview was priceless...no mention in his role at Pompey at all. Strange that....still it'll be fun to revisit after his court case.
  6. http://twitter.com/#!/injunctionsuper This has appeared on Twitter in the last few days. Easily traceable I would think.
  7. The Lord Sugar programme was excellent, and Shugs didn't let the dirty cheats off the hook, especially when Scudamore tried to wriggle out of the Premier League's reluctance to let a team go to the wall. Worth a watch - http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0113f7h/Lord_Sugar_Tackles_Football/
  8. Only thing they missed out was how the taxpayer got shafted by the dirty, cheating..... However, sad to see that the guy who backed the admin (Terry the Builder) - now has his company in administration. Sometimes loyalty costs I guess.
  9. He's better than Forecast, who's future looks bleak ;D
  10. Yep it can't be Tommy, judging by Tommo's typing he's good with his hands.
  11. There's a Thai restaurant in Milford on Sea which is good, just by the level crossing. Also, The Manor at Burton is cracking..you get to it via the dual carriageway between B&Q in Xch & the Sainsburys roundabout. Oh and another Lymo one - The Mayflower by Bath Road - plenty of parking, plus they do a gr8 BBQ at the weekends during the summer.
  12. Yep, nothing at all to do with excessive wage payments above the other clubs interested. I can imagine the headline on the job offer.... 'Pompey - 2011 wages in a 1930's stadium - fill your boots'
  13. Yep, Alex Aitken is now at the Jetty in Mudeford..he was at Limewood, which trivia fans, was backed by Jim Ratcliffe, he of INEOS fame. Anyway, aside of that nonsense, two local tips for you. Firstly, Egans in Lymington (Gosport Street) - family run, lots of locally caught fish, and their menu is fantastic. Secondly, take a trip to Lymington Yacht Haven to ironically 'The Haven' - the restaurant offers views directly across the Solent. Tucked away, its frickin brill.
  14. Yes but Halford also said that as they only had 8 players signed up, that he'd have to wait and see. Don't expect him to be pulling on a shirt for them next season.
  15. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in those hotel rooms as the news is delivered by Stevie C to the players, and hear the 'whoops of joy' and undiluted pleasure. As they hear the news that they no longer have to stay at Pompey....
  16. Interesting...that's if PCFCTCB's can actually afford legal assistance... Nice spin on Halford BTW, anyone else hear his comments on Solent 'Well I'd like to stay but at the moment there's only 8 signing up so we'll see' - hardly itching to sign is he???
  17. News on Bompey's takeover???? From Twitter... Exciting news from AFCB tomorrow at 3pm. Commercially amazing for the club! We'll keep you posted... (via @LizLeanPR)
  18. 'Some' credit is better than 'no' credit. After all, if a lender is considering an application from you, if you have no credit agreements, how can they judge your level of risk? Having worked for high street lenders before going independent, their whole plan is to get you on short term credit before consolidating it. When working in Above Bar for a certain extra bank type thingy, they asked us to concentrate on selling credit cards to students, because they knew that a loan would follow 2 years later....there's their ethics, right there.
  19. I've worked in Financial Services for 16 years...so here's my two-penneth... Firstly, any credit agreements that are classified as 'open' are an area of concern. For example, if you HAD a credit card which you no longer use (let's say you transferred the balance elsewhere and is now zero), you may assume that's the end of it. Not so. If you had a credit limit of £10k on it, then the potential view of the 'new' lender is that you could take that £10k immediately = reduced credit score. The KEY thing is to ensure that unused accounts like that are closed, not just left dormant (i.e with zero balance). The credit card companies won't close the account unless you ask them to. In a similar fashion, if the car finance that you chose not to proceed with is still showing as 'live', then that's what the other lenders see. One mistake people make when asking for credit reports is to miss out one or two addresses in the last six years, when you get asked to provide them by the credit reference agencies. This means that some agreements you may have forgotten about could be held against you. HTH
  20. The earlier post about the Beeb hacks following this thread goes back a long way to the court cases. I know this because Matt Slater was aware of our thread then....it just dropped into conversation.
  21. Hang on, I know..... Skacel's finally gonna sign....not that flamin' imposter we signed last time.
  22. According to Solent it's been 'Pompey Day' at Nottarf Krap. The chief executive has been in the stocks. Seriously. Fair play Mr Armpitt, but I bet the blue few wish it was the OLD CEO facing the music...
  23. Jonny...there's always the JPT!!! Seriously I'm happy we won that, because I got to share a Wembley trip to see Saints play with my parents - who, when I was 5 used to queue up outside the Dell to get me to the front at the Milton... 10.30am every home game...! I was at the Civic Reception...in a toddlers' buggy. Next week I'm going to celebrate promotion with my wife and eldest daughter, who is now the same age as I was when I first watched Saints.
  24. Christ yeah. Three of them stood by store entrance to 'meet and greet'. The rest of us were putting stock away, and rather than help the customer themselves (which is below many of them) they decided to delegate to us instead. Cue one confused customer, and 10 mins later, we get told 'why hasn't all the stock been put away yet?' Another one used to 'think' he was funny, by walking past us saying 'Remember to put it in the right place lads' - like I'm just going to throw it anywhere...it may well have been sh1t pay but you have your pride you know? The stuff they delegate is pathetic - it takes them longer to delegate it than it does to actually DO the flaming work. I had a conversation with one supervisor just after I joined. 'So what do you think?' - I told him straight, half of the employees got away with doing sod all, and that B&Q needed a 'Back to the Floor' exercise, and quick. If I was running just the store I was in, I'd raise wages across the board 5%, and watch them get results. I didn't meet ONE member of staff who was earning what they were expecting.
  25. Meanwhile....more delusional fun from the blue few. 'So there you have it. Yeah, I would love to go play the 'big boys' of English football again, and if we did get there, I would much prefer to do it the 'right way', but for now, I would take much more delight in affirming our place as the biggest and best club on the South Coast, something we already know - but could do with firming up once again.' http://www.portsmouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/sitepage.asp?a=240343 Like we've said on here before, it'll be the hope that kills them.... (They'd be better off wishing they get through those derbies with a point in the bank...)
