  1. Was that someone in the club Maradona?
  2. The thing you need to factor in is this - assuming a loan to value of less than 75%, you could get a 2yr Fixed Rate now of around 2.5%, a 3yr Fixed Rate around 2.9% and a 5yr Fixed around 3.5%. Bank of England base rate does not affect these rates directly, however the money markets does. If the cost of borrowing increases as is now expected, fixed rates etc are only likely to rise higher...so the choice is to take the hit now, or later. It's a gamble, no doubt - but fixed rates have NEVER been this low. I now end this mortgage sermon.
  3. If you're on SVR now and you're planning to fix in the future - don't wait. The pricing for fixed rates is different to Trackers linked to the Bank of England base rate. Woolwich are putting some of their fixed rates up tonight at midnight - they will be the first of many. Fixed rates will continue to rise as the Eurozone goes pop.
  4. All comparison sites are just adverts - as are best buy tables in the papers - so don't be fooled. Fixed rates are at risk next year by the Eurozone probs pushing up the cost of borrowing for the lenders, so if you can look at longer term deals (e.g 3 or 5yr) now, then you could benefit WHEN rates start to rise. 15 years experience as an adviser tells me...you won't see cheaper fixed rates for a LONG time. Also, commission paid on deals is not higher on certain types. HTH.
  5. No. HTH.
  6. Cheers Beatts.
  7. To be honest, with Poopey and Cotterill, see Saints and Burley. There's a lot of similarities... Overpaid and underachieving squad; Nonsensical decision making; Even more nonsensical post match ramblings Oh, and hopefully eventual relegation. Burley would be IDEAL for the skates.
  8. Clotterill's Press Conference at Nottarf today has just been CANCELLED... Hold on to your hats ladies and gents...the end game has begun...
  9. Just an observation...but I know we're talking different leagues, but Clot's and Jed Clampitt's policy of 'Quality over Quantity' is not a whole lot different to the Storytellers 'Quality and Quantity' theory of football management. You would THINK that they would have learned the lessons...but seeing as there was limited punishment.... Still. The end result's the same. I bet Burley would be keen on Nottarf Krap. Now...THAT would be fun.
  10. Wonder if Corpy has got his head around WHY we thought Poopey would see no money from the Muntari deal etc. It doesn't matter what you 'think' you paid for Johnson etc...you would have agreed to purchase in staged payments....as would anyone who bought him. So if you still owed £3M (for example) when you sold him, then there's no way you would have got the full selling price... Repeat x the whole squad you insolvently bought....
  11. I told you we should buy him...about a year before we did. Stroke of luck that happened in the end, but I was bloody right.
  12. Bet they're not bloody paid for though.
  13. Meanwhile in other news 'PORTSMOUTH' landlady screws over the Premier League. Ironic eh? (Mind you I think she's done a bloody good job..let's face it, it's the only chance for Premier League football to ever be seen over there again)
  14. 'Please sir..can I have some more?'
  15. Whisper through Twitter... Pompey boss Steve Cotterill wants to buy 3 players. A left back, midfielder and 20 goal a season striker. But no money available at mo. Note that Cloterill has conveniently forgot Dave Kitson....that he signed last season.
  16. Indeed - far to sensible to be a Skate.
  17. Just a quickie for Corpy. Remember when you brought in all of those loanees before you played us at StMarys - you know, when you were already trading insolvently and the FA/Premier League turned a blind eye? A pertinent question for David Lampitt one day...'What made you give up the security of your role with the FA for Portsmouth?' It won't ever get asked though...I wonder why.
  18. Meanwhile, in other news, this from Poopey's training ground. Clotterill's new signing. Best of luck. Quality not quantity remember...
  19. I'd love to hear 'Monkey Chicken Petting Zoo' in a russian accent.
  20. Ladies and Gents...please pass this to any Skate acquaintances... http://www.home-remedies-for-you.com/askquestion/2981/cures-for-neckache-backache-shoulder-pain-and-hand.html Prevention is better than cure. Let's face it, they'll be looking upwards at us all season, so neckache will be an occupational hazard.
  21. Nah..you wait and see - if Twitchy survives the court case his end destination will be Dean Court, I've thought that a while. Mitchell's just keeping the boardroom warm for him.
  22. Just a little update from Sweden on Saab...and Spyker. http://sverigesradio.se/sida/gruppsida.aspx?programid=2054&grupp=7044
  23. I shall trawl through my Outlook deleted section..I just hope didn't double delete to protect me from infection....
  24. Awwwww..bless. They seemed to have airbrushed away their financial commitments...no mention of the CVA.....and encouraging the local business community??? I've had those emails....haha
  25. Corpy. I shall make this short and sweet. Yes, you 'sold' playing staff for £43M but you didn't necessarily BANK £43M - why? Because you hadn't paid for most of them when you bought them. You 'sold' them because you couldn't afford the wages - as it was known when they were signed. You can't rewrite history.
