And after the last 20 mins...what happened? Anyway, that is now consigned to history, as is our relegation year, but can you not see the comparisons already?? An increasing squad level, full of loanees, and matches when we should be taking 3 points when we end up with 1 or less.....sound familiar??? Also, noticed that when Lowe was slagging off the previous boards (but again ironically hinted at Wilde's involvement) he mentioned about staff 'pay-offs' - hmmmmmm... Nothing mentioned about his 'pay-off' when ousted (how much was that?) and Clifford and SCW...... Nothing like rewriting history to back up your argument. Will be interesting to see who Rupey's associates vote for at the AGM....I had a Mystic Meg moment earlier.... WOULDN'T IT BE FUNNY IF ASKHAM, LOWE ETC VOTED WILDE OUT????!!
-
Sorry Nick but you're talking out of your arse. Crouch's tenure gave us the lowest league position for generations???? Worst Football??? Hmmmm where did we end up last season and where are we now??? Still drawing games that we should be winning (Groundhog Day of the Prem Relegation). Lowe doesn't want out, he wants sheep like you to think so......
-
I would prefer 'Never Mind the ********, It's my club not yours Mikey' God, having heard the Dark Lord Lowe on Solent today, he really is a condecending, bubble-inhabiting delusionist if he really thinks that we are being 'successful'.. **** me, if that's success, I'd hate to see his recognised 'failure'...

My point Charlie is that IF they want the stayaways (of which I am not one) to return, there will have to be a sign of 'leading from the front' to stave off our immediate financial problems. Drawing an additional salary (whatever that is) when you already have personal wealth, and holding existing directorships in large firms is, in the current climate, wrong when you want the public (who earn a fraction of your wealth) to shed a load of their stretched disposable income to support your team. Bit of Empathy, that's all, and a sign of actually TRYING to save this club. Too late to say sorry when we're playing Rochdale - still, with Cyril Smith there, we may be guaranteed a decent pie...
-
Cheers Nick. Bit of Deja Vu again though...same old scenario peddled just before Beattie etc were sold...more PR bull to shift the blame to the players....where do the stories about Lallana and Surman going come from if the players and their agents, families know nothing??? Someone's lying....
-
What's the matter OB? Thought that the club might welcome suggestions on saving the club cash...how about another.... If they don't already.......all Directors, Major Shareholders and Associates (eg Askham, Richards etc).....should forego any complimentary tickets and pay like any normal attendee. Crouch (apparently) worked for nothing.....
-
This is soooooooooooo simple.... Right, Rupes and Mikey, I have a suggestion for you which would go a long way towards building bridges between the boardroom and the fanbase (or clients, customers, riff-raff - effectively, YOUR EMPLOYERS)...... Declare now, before the Man U game, that as a show of unity with the fans, who in these trying times continue to support this club, THAT YOU WILL NOT DRAW A SALARY UNTIL THE END OF THE SEASON. Which in turn, will show our financial 'backers' (Barclays etc) that EVERYTHING is being done to stave off Administration. Which in turn will show the fans that YOU CARE. Which in turn will show the 'Spirit of Southampton' you like to spout about. Will you???? Or will you continue in the same vein?? P.S - As Lowe and Wilde did not have the opportunity to take an income from SFC until May, surely their own finances do not need the boost.....
-
Nah, it's Rupert giving up his salary as a gift to the club to stave off Admin ;o
-
Ironically, if I was being pedantic, I would say that you have answered your own question by starting this thread... However, I see your point.....but Lowe would never give up enough of his salary to afford Keane anyway.... And..... Keane would probably be the first of Lowe's Managers to chin him...which indicates why we SHOULD GET HIM IN...if only for that entertainment value!!
-
Me thinks Rupey Baby assumes that he is Hannibal Smith....I bet he 'loves it when a plan comes together'.... Why bother setting a resolution to install Richards if you can get your proxies to vote Wilde out anyway??? Just a thought...
-
Christ Nick, I have to agree!! ) Wiseman filled his boots at the reverse takeover, swung with Lowe for many years and then bit the hand that fed..by going with Wilde. Corbett and Trant seem to have become mute - why?????????
-
Congrats Drag, looks like you'll probably have Lowe's Cronies voting with you... You do know that's what they want to happen right????? Listen, each to their own and all that, but I don't see what benefit there is to going along with Lowe just because his feet are under the table. Crouch IS a viable alternative. What saddens me most is that the togetherness shared amongst all Saints fans after the Sheff Utd days have disappeared into the mists of time....Lowe's return has cast a shadow over the club like a fart in a wedding ceremony. Before you ask, my support from Crouch (as stated in prev threads) is from the belief (having lived in the Lymington area all of my life) that he can at least PROVE that he is a successful businessman - look at the Lymington Precision Engineering website to scratch the surface of what he has achieved - HIMSELF - no reverse takeovers required. Would love to know more about resolutions 7 & 8 - another way to increase the power eh?? ---- You can never say that you weren't warned.
-
Oooh yes please guv... Will you be supporting the proposed resolutions at the AGM?? Dragonov...voting for Lowe just because you see no viable alternative is a wasted vote in my view. Would you vote for Brown in the next election just because you don't approve of Cameron??? Of course not, you look at the bigger picture. Lowe loves people who like to stick with the Status Quo. BTW, I think the 23rd has been selected because many dissenting voices will not attend due to other committments, THAT'S why I'm against it...it's all more PR bull for the masses (!) of Lowe apologists to cream over.

Saints Greatest XI - Best Centre Backs Poll
Channon's Sideburns replied to St Landrew's topic in Golden Posts
No Ruddock or Osman? Kevin Moore??? All should be on there....Jim Blyth??? Ken Armstrong? (hehe)....Agboola?? -
Just received through my AGM pack - announced as 23rd Dec at 11am. Unfortunately won't be able to attend as off to Sweden for Xmas that day, but will send my proxy in. Sorry Rupey and Mikey, you won't be getting my support. Great choice of date though, 2 days before Xmas....ba$tards.
-
Oh dear, you really have fallen for Lowe's line, hook, line and sinker. I feel so sorry for fans like you, believing that Lowe's there for the football club. Wake up. He is driving us towards Admin so he can pick the club up on the cheap. Watch it happen.

Woodward - Rupey's next 'Cost Effective' Addition?
Channon's Sideburns replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
At last thanks GM, someone who shares my concern instead of simply trying to divert attention from it. Hands up time, I appreciate and stand corrected that Woodward came after relegation, but without rehashing numerous old threads on the subject, it was well known on here that there was speculation that he was on his way well before our first year in the CCC. My concern here is twofold - firstly, Lowe COULD (and probably will) try and engineer a return for SCW - I have no qualms about SCW as a person, but surely such a move is AGAIN more about RL's revenge against anyone who questioned him...... and....where would the money come from to pay him? Would Lowe give up his own salary to fund SCW's return if it happened? Course not. Just with Dean Gorre coming on board it's another indication that all the Lowe Apologists have been spun once again... Remember, we 'have no money' - hmmmmm - larger coaching squad than last season, approx 25 midfielders (quantity not quality, doesn't that remind you of our last relegation season???) and already the confirmation of more departures in Jan. The funny thing about January is that the Lowe Groupies on here will post 'Oh no Lallana and Surman know nothing about going' - perhaps, but does that mean that it won't be happening???? WHY ELSE DID KELVIN LEAVE HIS PHONE SWITCHED OFF LAST DEADLINE DAY?? Because, he obviously knew that they wanted rid. End of. Of course, please go ahead and pick holes - but deep down you know that Lowe is dragging us into the Cesspit that is League 1. -
Woodward - Rupey's next 'Cost Effective' Addition?
Channon's Sideburns replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
Hmmm let's see... When Woodward was here before we were paying him an extortinate amount of money, which in turn contributed to backroom shenanigans that cost us our Premiership Status, and mucked up the chance we had to return to the Prem whilst in receipt of Parachute Payments. Which in turn brought us to today, where we stand on the precipice of Administration. Yeah right, it's all about him being Rupert's mate - whatever justifies your view eh? Of course, Rupey never blames anyone does he??? Not even his Boardroom 'Colleague', who overaw the spending eh? Do you still think that Pearson was more expensive than Poortvliet, Wotte and Gorre combined? See that the 'Rupey Mugs' are still about.... -
Well well well, looks like Clive wants to return to Football.... Hmmm..wonder where he will end up eh?? Rugby union World Cup-winning coach Sir Clive Woodward - a one-time director of football at Southampton - says he would love another shot at working in football but would like to be a manager this time. (Daily Mail) Rupey's mate at the Mail setting the scene? Wait, watch and see it happen.

Saints Greatest XI - Nominations For Best LB.
Channon's Sideburns replied to St Landrew's topic in Golden Posts
Peachie with no doubts! Saw him in Lymington the other day, used to play with his son Dan in my younger years...we were 11, he was 8 and used to run rings round everyone. As far as I'm concerned, the others are nowhere close - can you find another LB these days who.... a) Scores Perfect Penalties; b) Bombs down the wing like a man possessed. -
If we are still in bottom three at the end of january......
Channon's Sideburns replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
Ahhhh...that looks better. )) -
49. He declared on Radio Solent in November 2007 that he had no interest in returning to the football club. Lying so and so... 50. He declared 9 questions for Leon Crouch to respond to - what happened to that then? 51. He declared he was going to 'right the wrongs of the previous board' whilst actually achieving to worsen the situation. 52. He believes that he is correct in his 'Dutch Experiment' - yeah right... 53. He believes that HE invented investment in youth at SFC - EVEN THOUGH THE INSTALLATION OF AN ACADEMY WAS A PREMIER LEAGUE REQUIREMENT! 54. He gave us... 'The Saint' 55. He gave us the greatest hospitality packages in Football - pity that they can no longer give them away at half price... 56. Oh I am now angry, must stop for now...
-
I understand the point that you are trying to make here, but honestly - it's a totally different scenario. With the McCormick issue, you are looking at two precious young lives taken away by an irresponsible individual who obviously lives in his own little bubble - INDEFENSIBLE With Lowe and Saints you are looking at an individual, obviously living in his own misguided bubble - however I can see the important difference between the two scenarios. Taking lives is completely different - trying to compare Saints fans despair with that obvious tragedy is slightly opportunistic in my view.
-
Think it's due before Xmas, slightly surprised that a date hasn't been set yet....why could they possibly be delaying things eh? I hope that following Cowen's and Richards' performance at the last one can be followed by one by Leon and Trant...or Mary Corbett??? I seem to remember David Jones appearing rather fed up with Cowen's questioning...and Richards sat there like a naughty smirking schoolboy...
-
OTT???? I would call blind approval of what appears to be occurring at SMS at the moment - NOW that is OTT. And no, Bassett has not made an 'allegation' - why would he risk legal challenge from dear ol' Rupes by declaring this on NATIONAL RADIO if there wasn't truth in this? All of the 'non-disclosure' agreements, all the 'mutual consent' ******, it's clear for any sane Saints Fan to see....if you only open your eyes. 'He is publically quiet'. Why that's ok then - as long as he keeps quiet then he can do as he wishes... Plus, the fact that NO-ONE knows whether he is cutting the costs enough or not is another reason to be concerned. JUST HOW MUCH IS RUPERT BEING PAID DURING ALL THIS? WHY IS WILDE 'IN BED' WITH THIS GUY? WHY DOESN'T WILDE SHOW SOME KAHUNAS AND STAND UP TO LOWE OR SHIP OUT? Sorry if that's OTT, but I love this club, it's in my veins and I am sick and tired of putting up with this sh1te.
