  1. My thoughts entirely - I'm not at all surprised, this sort of scenario is fast becoming the 'norm' at SMS. We are a very very poor team, I fear that many of these young lads will get no benefit at all from being thrown to the lions like this every week.
  2. Ahhh thats cleared it all up then. No takeover until we can get some 7.62 ammunition for our Kalashinikovs, in order to 'take out' the chickens for our celebratory BBQ once the takeovers announced. I'm fully ITK now...!!! Why didn't you just say that in the first place Nick?
  3. Errrr you may not have noticed but we actually do this against lots of teams these days - not just Watford...!!!!
  4. Had you said that this time last year, there would have been an awful lot of dead posters by the end of the season...!
  5. Spot on - end of.
  6. Personally I have to agree with Um Pahars - I think we are, and always have been light years away from any real take over bid. Lots and lots of hot air in the media (but they have to fill their time and inches with something) - but no real substance if the truth be known. The usual 'tyre kickers' and 'Walter Mitty's' who posted here were nothing more than daytime entertainment idiots who should have been afforded a slot on the Jeremy Kyle show such was the level of their credibility.
  7. The fans only started to boo AC after he had gifted them a goal, upto that point he had not been singled out. After his error though he was booed every time he got the ball for about 10 - 15 minutes. After that the boos were drowned out by other fans cheering him. Fans are fickle, over the course of a game where England struggled at first, eventually took the lead, gifted the opposition a goal and then eventually won 5 - 1, I should think some of the fans probably didn't know whether to cheer or boo. Personally I don't see what booing a player during the game achieves - but no doubt those that went will argue that they paid their money and are therefore well within their rights to pillory the players at will.
  8. Agreed this mauling could have been a lot worse - missed penalty, saved by the woodwork, KD saving 1 on 1 - the list goes on. Amongst it all, I can only think of DMG's chance for us where we have worked their last man. I hope you are correct about there being three other teams worse than us, they maybe worse at this moment in time, but what worries me is whether they invest during the transfer window, whilst we stick with the squad that, lets face it, are currently struggling to tread water in this league.
  9. Offer me that scenario right now - and I'd rip your arm off. Let's face it we look a team a million miles away from a play off place. My expectations for this season were at best low - I've now lowered them further, therefore if they are not met - we will not be in this division next season. The only room for manouvre is upwards - god help us...!!!
  10. In terms of places maybe - but it is only 4 points, so hardly insurmountable.
  11. My first post of the night. Been sitting here thinking of positives that we can take away from todays game - but there appears to be very little to reflect upon that we can feel good about. Yes we (apparently) had lots of attempts on goal, but how many of them were actually on target and how many of them actually made the goalkeeper work - not many. The only positive I can come to is that after a performance like that, hopefully, the lads will want to put in a good show against Watford (6 pointer..!!!) in order to put things right. It's going to be a roller coaster season this year - let's just hope that it ends like last season, on a high.
  12. What... no takeover, no Alan Shearer as manager, this really is an awful Friday in the life of the SWF... Surely somebody out there can concoct something tangible for us all to cling onto for a few days...!

    Roeder

From my veiw sat in my armchair watching 'American Chopper' it was definately a foul, in the box, a penalty and a sending off offence - well done referee...!!!
  14. Tragic news - didn't know Bob, but remember the thread on here after he took his fall, and it was very obvious that he was a well liked and respected Saints fan. My thoughts and condolences to all of his family. Rest peacefully Bob.
  15. Lets just hope that Kelvin is here for the whole of the season though - if he continues to play as he has done recently it won't go unnoticed by the gathering 'vultures'. In our current financial state we will find it hard to ward off even the most speculative of offers for our performing players.
  16. Worrying indeed - one of the lowest attendances in the CCC tonight. Contrast our gate with the 29,743 that Derby got tonight - shows how far we have fallen.
  17. B o l l o x, b o l l o x, b o l l o x - got in from work, absolutely b o l l o x e d, fell asleep, missed the whole damn game, woke up to find we'd won - just my luck...!!! B o l l o x, b o l l o x, b o l l o x..... Chuffed to bits though, well done lads...
  18. The awesome Neil Jason Shipperley, absolute legend... or have I missed a space out somewhere there...!!!
  19. Thanks for the update - interesting post. Wouldn't worry too much about the 'Walter Mitty' theory, we are well used to those on this site...! Once again though - thanks for the insight.
  20. Just had a quick scan - looks pretty good.
  21. Would that be the same Shearer that is now hotly tipped to take a role at Newcastle once they have been sold by Ashley...?? Umm now I wonder - Newcastle with 'loadsomoney' backing or Southampton with 'scrapingthebottomofthebarrel' backing - I wonder which one Shearer will choose eh?
  22. Paaah...!! If we can do the mighty Doncaster Rovers at 'fortress' Keepmoat Stadium, then Norwich City on the hallowed turf that is SMS is but surely a 'walk in the park', is it not? Go get your bunting ready....
  23. I think that if you read through some of the earlier threads today you will see that he has gone to a game in Austria somewhere. At least let they guy post his view on here first before you slate him eh - silence means nothing - he might not be home yet.
  24. Yo - 2 - 0 (will have to dig out my correct prediction on another thread...!!!) good win, good clean sheet, only downside - injuries and perhaps the missed pen. Other than that - pretty positive.
  25. Pheewwwwww - offside.....
