I think the focus now needs to be on what do we do next season, that is their main problem. The championship is a tough uncompromising league, how do they intend to run the club next season. Personally I think we have seen the last of the Premiere League for many years unless something really drastic happens next year.

Feel for the kid a bit, yeah he's not great and he fucked up today, should've saved it. That said, there's tons of pressure on him because he knows we've got little chance of scoring at the other end when he does fuck up. It's not his fault he was given an opportunity way above his capability.

Win a few games...! How on earth are we going to win a few games. We have just gone through a period of about seven winnable games, and won one, just one. We got lucky with an out of form Chelsea and today have reverted to type, yet another gutless performance. We will win a few games, between now and the end of the season, but we have basically meakly surrendered out premiership status without so much as a fight.

We have let the quality erode out of the club over time, Fonte, Hoijberg, Ings, Oriel, and a good few others all gone. All needed replacing with proven quality at prem level, but weren't. We gambled far too much on youth and untried players at this level and it has failed miserably. Back in the day we were built from a top notch goalkeeper, with good defenders in front of him, then we had midfielders who could win and create, but we also had strikers that could score. There is none, none of that in this 'team' of misfits, sorting this mess out is going to take some time. We tried to be to clever, you reap what you sow.

Exactly. This is the first problem that we are going to have next season. The very little quality that we do have will go and we will be left with some very poor players in a very tough league. I really do not see any quick fix to this and fear we will see even lower leagues than the championship fairly soon.

Goodbye the premiere league. We won't be back for many, many years mark my words. This club needs a complete reset. Watching that shower of shyte, I feel for Markus tonight.
-
Well we were bad in the first half we're even worse now.
-
Not really, he's had some ups and downs, in this one. But obviously that goes against the narrative.
-
Two awful teams, neither look anywhere near premiership quality. I'm normally a big fan of Armstrong, but today he has been woeful, no idea what he was thinking when he had our best chance of the half. My bet is that we will be playing Leeds next season as well, but not in this league.

Wolves, masters of shithousery, falling about all over the place. Fulham not really in it. Although, that could change...! Great strike, game on.

Makes sense, nobody is going to blame Ruben when we get relegated so it gives him what's left of this season to show what he can do. Reassess at the end of the season and if we find it didn't work we go our separate ways, and bring somebody new in for next season.
-
Just about sums it up perfectly for me. Absolutely no point swooning about winning at Stamford Bridge and then getting fuck all at Leeds. If our season is going to take an upwards turn then it has to be this game. Unfortunately I think we're done, our front players are woeful finishers, we can't keep relying on the likes of JWP to pull something out of the bag. Win this and things could get interesting, a draw or loss pretty much sees us down. Games are running out, it's now or never.

Its that Evertons new manager bounce done now?
-
Agree. If there has been no news come Monday afternoon, then it's likely they are going to stick with the clown.

I'm not at all worried about NJ now, I'm more concerned with who we get to replace him. We are relegated, nobody could turn this clusterfuck around, but what we do need is somebody who can get this lot sorted out for next year. Whoever comes in is pretty much guaranteed to have a relegation added to their CV almost instantly. We ain't the most attractive of propositions for a lot of managers.
-
Piss poor defenders, Piss poor tactics, Piss poor manager, Piss poor owners, Piss poor everything.
-
Is it even a contest? If we win the FA Cup this year I'll change my mind, but for now nobody comes close to this Welsh wanker.
-
Don't, his payoff will more than cover any private care he may require.
-
Offering to let somebody watch us play.... you call that 'friendly'!!!
-
What's the point? Really, what is the point? We are down, gone, done, relegated without so much as a whimper. This group of lightweights, under this fraud of a manager will simply roll over at the first sign of trouble. It would be easier to send them the points in the post to save the fans the time, money and heartache. Can you imagine the likes of Gabriel, Magrath, Baĺly, Case or Killer, (and many others who've fought for us) wtf would they be thinking watching this weekly shit show? Unless something drastic happens, Wolves will win, easily.
-
Don't worry he'll be getting that soon enough. It'll be even tougher for him when we are in league one as well.
-
You're miles behind mate, I was certain at Christmas. There is no way this shower of shyte are turning this one around. The highlight of our season will be playing the blue few pretty soon.
-
Bloody awful. Players trying to play passes that were never ever on, losing 50/50 tackles, weak in the air, constantly giving the ball away. As soon as any pressure is bought to bear we wilt all over the pitch, no leadership. We were mediocre up until they scored, after that, not for the first time this season, it was like watching the keystone cops, total panic right across the park. We're through, but we're going to have to play a whole lot better than that to progress any further.

Southampton(1) 1-2 (3)Newcastle - League Cup Semi Final - Second Leg
Micky replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
Course we are still in it, this is football, strange things happen. We know exactly what we have to do. We have to go for it, it's a one off game, if we score first and at the right time, who knows what might happen. They get edgy, we get an 88th minute winner. Stranger things have happened. All of that said we could get tonked and I don't fancy us if we go to pens!
