Exactly, Forest, Leeds, Sunderland, Blackburn and many other very good clubs all of similar size to us have found it very difficult once they have gone down. How many of our players are going to fancy the fight in the championship on a cold, wet, horrible night at Stoke?
-
Nope, there's not.
-
I'm not so sure that we have. We have a manager to the end of the season. Any real quality, jwp, kwp, will go. The championship is a very tough league, we will not be seeing premiere league football at St Marys for quite a lot of years again.
-
Some would say that's good forward thinking...!
-
Where and when do you think our next win will be? Isn't it obvious to you that our problem is that we do not score goals. We have just played Brentford at home and their keeper has not made a single save, not one. We are, deservedly, down.
-
I don't think it matters who we play now. We're done, and if I'm honest we have been for some months.
-
As i said.... but you could see it a mile off. We were, or rather are, absolute dross
-
So it's basically a once in a lifetime event then...!
-
When was the last time we had a big finish and scored two in five minutes?
-
To be fair he's not the only one, lots of very poor players on show tonight.
-
Tomorrow is too late. Tonight will probably be the night hope runs out. That said, we don't deserve to stay up if we can't best Bentford at home.
-
Brentford offering absolutely nothing in this half, but you just know they will score again.
-
Lots of possession. Going nowhere.
-
Can't believe we have followed up the performance at Old Trafford like this.
-
We've reverted to type again, back to the insipid non threatening football. Awful half, we offered no threat whatsoever. We won't score in a month of Sundays if we continue like this. A game that could define our future in the Premier league and we haven't had a shot on target. Something needs to change in the second half or we are down.
-
Simon Jordan thinks we're already gone. Anything less than 3 points against Brentford and I would think he's probably right.
-
No idea, not my problem, but it needs policing.
-
Totally agree. I have the even more unpopular view that you should also have to pay for the pleasure to use these sm platforms. I also think that there should be much more stringent monitoring of these platforms as well. I'm all for free speech, but let's be honest, much of what is posted would never ever be said face to face. Its time to stand up to the trolls.
-
True, but only if our front players start to find the net, and upto now they haven't. Draws are no good to us now, we need wins, and the only way to guarantee that is tight at the back and score up front.
-
We have (had) exactly the same fixtures and time, we don't have the ability.
-
We won't. We've been down for some time now, the odd result is not going to keep you in the premiereship, and relying on other teams to do you a favour isn't enough either. If we go to OT and win, then get a further 6 points from Spurs and Brentford then I'll change my mind, but I reckon we'll struggle to get a point from that lot.
-
None of them are any great loss as far as I'm concerned. I watch MOTD for the football, not the mundane 'analysis'.
-
Interesting. And interested, how do you know?
-
Yeah I know, we were good then, but I've be watching saints for over 50 years, it's rare for us to get much at OT. We are crap at the moment and were very lucky to get 3 points from Leicester, so can only see a loss at the weekend.
-
When we were a half decent side we'd struggle to get anything at Old Trafford, so I really can't see anything other than yet another loss. They'll be looking to erase the memory of Anfield, so we will be in for a real tough afternoon. I'd snap your arm off now for a point but realistically is gonna be more about keeping it respectable.
