  1. Hi Matt I don't have twitter, if you still have one and you're in London tomorrow please get in touch. ne2742 at gmail.com Thanks Nick
  2. ne2742@gmail.com if still available...
  3. I'll go via London Bridge in that case, how can I contact you?
  4. Hi Duncan, would you be traveling to London for the game for collecting at the ground?
  5. I would be interested in one ticket if you're not selling these together, would you be at Selhurst so I could collect? ne2742@gmail.com
  6. If you plan on taking the bus to the airport be aware, just saw a notice that sadem buses are on strike from 8am until noon. So if you are catching the morning flight out of Turin like me, might have to leave earlier than planned
  7. What times are you arriving / returning in Turin, I would be interested - drop me an email. Nick ne2742@gmail.com
  8. Some of you lot seem hell-bent on stirring up a grudge match with songs like that, it's a bit lame and it makes us look tinpot. Try and save the hate for the clubs that really deserve it.
  9. Because RK only got round to spreading this rumour last weekend, obviously
  10. If anyone can get him firing again, it's Ronald.
  11. Come on, that's only true for one of them. Lovren certainly jumped at the first opportunity and so we treated him like the mercenary that he is. Lallana must have had plenty offers from other clubs as soon as we were relegated into League 1, and after five years it's only natural he might want to move on. I think the vitriol rose from expectations from interviews disingenuously talking about "becoming the next Le Tissier". Lambert had major interest from West Ham as others have pointed out, but as he made clear when he left, he wasn't interested in joining another club other than Liverpool. Had Osvaldo been a hit (in the goal-scoring sense) I'm sure he would have been moved on sooner.
  12. When Everton came 4th ten years ago I thought there was quite a lot of respect for them, especially as they were expected to be fighting relegation, just like us now. Even when they failed to reach the group stage I don't think there was much backstabbing. Could be wrong though as I was more concerned about our own situation!
  13. I thought Warburton was DoF originally, so not sure why he's so opposed to someone else taking over that role. With all the praise for Saints it would have made sense for them to give Adkins a call, until I saw the bit where they highlight swapping him for Pochettino. Maybe not then.
  14. You should ask yourself that question, unless you're deliberately baiting
  15. He's saying he had to start from zero at Spuds. Clutching at straws.
  16. Couldn't have been much of a tough week if you were only born yesterday
  17. What about my thermos flask lid? I can't be drinking cold soup.
  18. Brilliant observation - you got me for a good minute or two!
  19. He abandoned South Korea despite his family's patriotism because he suffered racist abuse when he played for the U21 side. Apparently he went to a lot of trouble to secure the Korean passport in the first place so he must have been a bit ****ed off with his treatment. If anyone's honour should be questioned, I don't think it should be Tadanari's.
  20. I don't think many rate Pochettino's Spuds right now. Even Sherwood's Spuds did the double over Pochettino's Saints last season. Seems to be a bogey team for us.
  21. Time to lock the thread, nothing will top this
  22. Come on that quote is nothing to get bothered about. Bournemouth are still fairly new to the championship so to see them just two points from leading the division is great to see. I also get a cheap laugh out of seeing as much contrast as possible in league positions between Pompey and other south coast clubs.
  23. Links to each goal at the top of the page. The football police seem to overlook gifs when it comes to removing video, thankfully
  24. I didn't say that. What I was trying to say was although the current set-up has clearly done a decent job in bringing through talent, the foundations were already there as can be evidenced by the academy players who established themselves in the first team. As it takes more than five minutes to develop a player, credit has to be given to staff like Prost, Elias, Henderson, Jennings, not to mention that muppet who was running the show at the time. To belittle their contribution to the academy as it is today is like saying Wenger has done a great job developing Chambers and Walcott into England players. Okay then.
  25. Name a player who joined after that era. Our next big thing, Matt Targett joined us in 2003. You are right, the academy has to be decent enough to develop players all the way to premier league standard. But the next 5-10 years will show how good the club have been at bringing in talent at the earliest stages, in the face of relegations and staff departures. Speaking of which, did we ever get a reason for Jason Dodd's sacking?
