Exactly this. Oakeshott has excluded key bits of correspondence which contradict her arguments which are rhetorical just like the paper and wing of the Conservative Party she is employed by. The bigger mystery is why Hancock ever felt her reliable or trustworthy - her reputation and views on Covid on the conspiracy far right are hardly a secret.

Grimsby are poor at the back even for L2. Saints can win this 3-2 if they want to. Lyanco is one stupid fucker though. Single cell.
-
They should have scored in the move after the handball pre VAR when McC partially blocked if the bloke’s touch was better. Not saying they’ve been that dangerous but they’ve come into it and after another one-two should have been clear through again if the weight of final ball was better. The fact we’re having the debate about playing a mid-table division 4 outfit shows you the club is huge trouble.
-
If the teams stayed as there are, fancy Grimsby get a couple more second half. I’ve a feeling JWP will come on to save these useless twats and win 2-1. I exclude JWP, KWP and Lavia from the bad language, the rest would struggle to get into the Grimsby side. Even Perraud tonight who normally at least gives a shit. I’ve seen better players than Mara in the Western League in Devon. Who the actual fuck deemed him worth £12m? I wouldn’t pay 12p.They need sacking but that goes 90% of the staff at the club top to bottom. Losers the lot of them.

It’s true, they are. Sunak knows it, as does Hunt and so does Starmer. The problem both main parties have is a significant proportion of their support base are still obsessed about freedom of movement at the knuckle dragging end. They drink it in from the Mail, Express and Telegraph every day about asylum seekers and the latest lies printed. Some people are wising up to the yawning clinical and allied vacancies in the NHS, in social care, the fruit and vegetables not getting picked, the pubs and restaurants shutting, but not enough still.

The Directors should be made to read this thread as well as the longer-serving players and hang their heads in shame. To think Steele and that lump from Millwall have been pushing our fans out of block 1 in that context whilst cosying up to visiting fans is disgusting. They should be thanking every single fan personally who has paid to watch the half-hearted garbage this season. Then there’s the padded seats debacle in Kingsland Centre, ticket gate shambles v Man Utd. Not to mention regular violent encounters from away fans in home areas the club turns a blind eye to so it’s not even safe for a family. Just seen Turkish’s post above and forgot about August’s disgraceful fans forum where Semmens blamed the fans. W2 D3 L12 last 12 months nearly and only 30 home wins since 2017. Club has totally given up. That pathetic list of shame also highlights that Ralph was never turning it around as well as the nonsense that’s followed since. With the attitude towards Saints fans as it is, and the league 2 playing standards with parks work ethic, I think Dragan is in for a horrible shock with attendances next season. We averaged 23k last time, but can see it being nearer 18k right down on the very base of our support with people who would only watch Saints on a Saturday. Not at Lowe boycott 2008/9 14k zealots straight away but it’s coming unless Dragan really shakes the pack and injects the boardroom with football knowledge/industry substance and ejects Semmens and the marketing lot. Love to see Ankerson go too but I don’t think he will.

Sadly I think it will be, although for me a very experienced manager is the only way I can see any sort of top two push next season. As for Wilcox, the club already had a supposedly coveted Man City senior football employee last summer and he was effectively on gardening leave by October bound for Chelsea having scouted bar Lavia, total junk. So low to no expectations. Don’t think his or Semmens ego could handle an experienced football manager telling them what was needed. If you think the squad chopped and changed a lot last time we went down, you ain’t seen nothing yet. If they can’t get a Kompany-type big name with one or two managers’ jobs behind them with heaps of contacts for the best loans you need in the Championship to go up, get a Wilder or if Forest go down, Cooper that can organise and know who will cut it at Champ level and who won’t. Benitez got Newcastle up with a good budget and likes to develop the club not just the squad which is why he’d be my choice with such a rookie board running the club. Not going to happen but that’s my opinion.

Heard a rumour at the time as to why Ray Parlour was dropped from the England squad despite being in the form of his career for Arsenal. Allegedly some of the players carrying minor knocks and niggles were asked to go and see Eileen Drewery. Parlour sat down in the chair, was asked close his eyes and Eileen put her hands on his temples. ‘I’ll have a short back and sides please” was the response. She laughed but this apparently got back to Glenn who was not amused. Parlour’s absence from the England squads was definitely an ongoing debate through that time period. Edit - it’s true https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/ray-parlour-ask-silly-question

Look at the state of the people who have just selected her to stand in her constituency again for the next election. We’ll all get to that stage one day (with good health) but average age there must be 80 or so. https://twitter.com/BladeoftheS/status/1629748927359512582/photo/1

At the end of the season, there has to be some humility from SR. Apologising to the fanbase and city first and foremost, and confirming Semmens departure. Much as I’d like to see Rasmus packed off to Turkey, I don’t think that will happen. However, appointing Benitez initially as first team manager with someone like Lallana or a Kompany-type equivalent with the coaching badges learning with him and ready to takeover when Rafa is Head of Football Operations would restore some sort of credibility as a business. Rasmus can then play with his stats but Rafa would have the final say on everything. Good development for Rasmus. Depends on who comes down with us, but could be in a Burnley situation next year with top-two budget in the league. Ball is in SR’s court to bring in the football expertise in needed to arrest the slide. If it’s still Semmens and Rasmus in the summer, I reckon we are playing Barrow and Harrogate in two to three years time. Still, the latter would be a local away game for Turkish I suppose…

Much as I’d love to blame it on Brexit - it’s destroyed supply chains in so many other ways - the reality is that the shortages are caused by very poor and unprecedented weather in Southern Spain and North Africa where the majority of the UK’s fresh fruit and veg which isn’t seasonal comes from. Should get better by the spring,

Seems like Selles has been swigging from the same bottles of very strong alcohol that it felt like Jones did and Ralph seemed as if he was in his final few months whilst selecting the team. Just pick a fan at random in the away end today and put them in charge until the summer. Can’t do any worse than the so-called football professionals have this wretched season, the worst in the club’s history.

With a legacy of ministers such as May, Patel and worst of all Braverman (Nick Griffin or Nigel Farage packaged as a Tory Brexiteer cabinet minister) who is honestly surprised by that? If they are sorry for the Windrush scandal my backside is a fire engine.

Butchers Hook is a great little place. Will visit if back in Soton to see friends this year. Not been to King Olaf’s in Woolston yet where I grew up and have friends. This is the beer you were talking about and as someone who loves dark beers, tries low Abv/no Abv beers and is lactose intolerant that is definitely one to track down https://brewcavern.co.uk/product/reign-in-blood/ I had Purity 0.5 last weekend which was very good, Butcombe IPA 0.5 this weekend. Plus a couple of full alcohol pints.

Andrew Pierce, Mail hack/Tory employee on GMB this morning when asked by Rob Rinder to name 4 clear benefits of Brexit, says ‘Well, I’ll struggle”. But still thinks it was the right decision. Fucking imbecile.
-
Has looked reasonable after being in the deep end of his former manager’s tactical brain fart at Newcastle. Has been in the Championship team of the year before hasn’t he? We’re in the Championship next season and KWP will be off in the summer so that’s RB sorted.
-
Yep, it’s going really well https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/feb/11/revealed-secret-cross-party-summit-held-to-confront-failings-of-brexit Tim Martin printed 500000 beer mats promising cheaper food and drink after Brexit by ending ‘protectionist’ EU tariffs - just raised their prices by 7.5% instead. Another Brexiteer lie to go with an NHS in crisis, rising migrants and associated costs, reduced energy costs and non-association to the biggest science research programme in the world.

The only positive of this could be an announcement in the next 30 minutes that he’s gone, announcement on Monday that Ankerson will lead the Turkish club and Rafa Benitez appointed as Saints DoF on 3 year deal responsible for all football decision-making at SFC. He can take him time to find a Kompany type new manager by the summer as we’ve been relegated for months. Big name manager, some of the new signings might stay, fans re-engaged, champions next season and lessons learned. This could be a catalyst but Dragan HAS to show some leadership because Semmens, Ankerson, Steele not PL or even football industry calibre employees at any level.

Glad it’s not just me. Watched the brilliant Ireland V France 6 nations game and now Scotland V Wales and enjoying my afternoon. I’ll go to a few aways next season with Saints where it’s pay on the gate but not going anywhere near SMS for the foreseeable. The club is arrogant, tone deaf and clueless, deserve everything they are getting in terms of stick from the supporters. I couldn’t give a shit about relegation. Club and players don’t. Sun still came up in the morning 2005-12.
-
It’s like the entire first team coaching team, scouting and boardroom are tone deaf not only to us but to each other. It directly leads to the total chaos on the pitch that’s been obvious every week for 12 months. Today’s selection of AMN at RCB is a true ten pinter in terms of logic. The club as an organisation acts as if it isn’t entirely sober or connected to any form of reality one way or another.
-
Oh heck, does that mean Fourpast actually started a football league game? Yes, he really did, and very badly https://thefishy.co.uk/story.php?id=8502418 Hope you enjoy your trip and decent chance of winning, SFC is an absolute shambles at the moment.
-
Him or Dyche would have been a vast improvement in terms of organisation and expertise at this level. This is like having Cowley Brothers, Simon Grayson or Joey Barton in charge. Benitez on a 3 year deal to get us back up with a good budget in the summer and a name that would help some of the new signings plus some honest pros at that level, is such a no-brainer.
-
It’s been a one-sided game, Ireland look an outstanding side. Just won in NZ. Taken their foot off the pedal second half but Wales have no chance and Gatland will be gutted on his return. Just seen the Saints score and irrelevant as they were already relegated anyway. If Dragan wants to save his investment, I’ll keep saying it, give Rafa Benitez a 3 year contract to re build SFC as a football operation top to bottom. With a big name manager, more of the newer players might give it a season to return and next season could be automatic promotion with lots of wins. Jones is not and never will be the answer, he’s plummeting past Ian Branfoot and Pellegrino as the worst ever Saints manager. The theme for the next home game surely has to be ‘Jones Out’, hire a flyover etc.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

Couldn’t believe in the queue for the supermarket yesterday that I saw in the i that Truss wants to make a comeback based on pro-growth policies that were condemned as dangerous and 40 years out of date globally. And which we will spend decades paying for. Won’t happen but if the swivels tried it again it could be time to get rid of her with civil unrest and force a GE so a PM can be legitimately elected. And yes, I didn’t agree with Brown or May either but at least they tried to get a mandate. Truss and Tufton St loony colleagues on the Tory far right don’t do democracy. -

Reminds me of Lee Todd. That really is a low standard.
