  1. 1 - Ings, but mentions for JWP and Stephens, really come on leaps and bounds, very good players now. Berty back near his best. 2 - Smallbone I would say. Obafemi been around a while now and Valery gone backwards. Vokins two good starts so far 3 - although in his mid 20s, Stephens for me 4 - Armstrong although Ings so much sharper under Ralph’s methods. 5 - KWP loan. Djenepo had a great start and can still come good, but missing too often. 6 - All of them in the autumn but Gunn, Vest and Valery especially dreadful v Leicester 7 - Stephens v City, although Ings immense v Spurs. Redmond had an superb game on Boxing Day at Chelsea 8 - Chelsea away, Norwich both wins were watersheds, Spurs home and Utd away were impressive. City home. Even at Anfield Klopp said we played them off the park first half before their quality told second half 9 - Need you ask 10 - City home
  2. I wonder if the authorities lifted the cover on this transfer they and the clubs might find some things that didn’t reflect well. I hope under Semmens that Ross and Les would have refused outright to buy this player let alone for that money and I doubt whether Pellegrino would have been still in employment. There was nothing in the player’s track record to suggest a £20m fee and definitely nothing since. Nothing. A quarter of that if I’m being generous, he could probably do a job in the Champ for more direct teams who get lots of crosses in. The club still has 12 months of this player’s contract to run. What to do? Is it cheaper to pay a large pc of the wages if an Argentinian club want him with a small fee offsetting some of it or reach a compromise agreement? I can’t see a European club wanting to pay any substantial fee.
  3. De Gea gone full Fraser Forster. In fact, the Mount goal was worse than anything Fraser did under Puel and Pellegrino and Fraser committed some horrors during that period. Three more years at an alleged £350k p/w. Ouch. Leicester v Utd tasty one for 4th. Gunners key to relegation battle - one eye on Cup Final or not. Madness on paper by Watford, that’s four managers in one season. Huddersfield odd decision on the Cowleys as well.
  4. Should have finished that off way earlier but another away win. No lack of effort from the lads and clearly Bournemouth’s cup final celebrations in October had grated. Great finish by Ings but you see why JWP takes penalties. Back 4 did well, even Vestergaard wasn’t too bad. Ramsdale had far more to do than McCarthy but a couple of vital interceptions (Wilson first half) and blocks (Solanke). Both VAR decisions correct, Wilson clearly offside but you can imagine the swinging emotions of the Bournemouth fans. Pleased Che bagged a second, good for his confidence. i see there’s criticism of Redmond but like Ings he’s played all of the games and probably with JWP the most minutes. Not his fault Djenepo has not really featured much since a bright start. Tbf lost a parent, hopefully comes back and makes an impact in 20/21. Boufal needs to move on for everyone’s sake. If we finish 11th, £8m difference to 14th where we started, plus the VVD to up = Salisu’s release fee or what we’d want to get KWP for the equivalent of. Makes a big difference.
  5. I hope they wrote ‘you are an even bigger knob than your new agent is’. McC hopefully knocked some energy into him. Everton and Spurs scouts have lost their marbles. Vestergaard is only slightly better than Hoedt and on a par with Andreas Jakobson - Wilson is a total loser, good luck Gerrard.
  6. Are you sure? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_Lewis#Expenses
  7. Good on Lewis, whilst I don’t agree with him on Brexit and a couple of other issues, he could see the government was trying to cover over and turn off the inquiry on potential Russian interference and Putin’s level of involvement in Vote Leave and the Conservative party. People aren’t fooled by the focus on China either, this is may be an existential threat to Cummings career and therefore Boris. The treatment of Lewis at not getting Failing as their patsy tells you how worried they are. in other news, the chair of the committee investigating Patel who has so far failed to clear her of bullying and poor behaviour allegations has been moved roles. Red Wall seats to be hit hardest in the manufacturing base according to a new report into a no deal Brexit. Populism working well then?
  8. Great effort and deserved the goal. Not the best we’ve played quality-wise after the first 20 but kept going and going. Voted for Bertrand Motm. hope KWP ok after that nasty clash of heads. Hope the Utd lad Williams OK, although probably out of one game with concussion.
  9. Generally like Neville but was a yellow at most for Romeu, momentum carried him into the foul. Adams blatantly fouled a minute ago. JWP booking fair enough.
  10. KWP showing Bernard tendencies, showing Martial inside was idiotic. Has the pace to live with him as well but rabbit in the headlights. Was a good start but they are on top form. Ralph furious.
  11. That’s good news, Saints desperately need the money for finishing further up the table. Man U a free hit on Monday and then go for a maximum after that. Every place gained compensates for the wages of one of Les and Ross’s numerous disasters. Plus Fraser’s dodgy extension.
  12. Watching Derby v Brentford, Brentford’s scouting is superb, look a quality outfit and great to watch. Makes you astonished that Saints stuck with the old loon and his wee carer as long as they did. Beharama out of our range but can see why Chelsea and Man U want him. Watkins and also Henry their LB impressive amongst others.
  13. Roger Stone has a tattoo of Richard Nixon on his back from another era of Republican corruption
  14. It did which is why it was last ditch but Bednarek times that perfectly and clearly wins the ball first. No foul. No wonder VAR check came up with no red card, probably shaking their heads at Mason
  15. Ajax won’t be able to match what he’s on here though, let alone what him and his mercenary for an agent want. Tadic moved for lifestyle reasons (style of Dutch League suits him better as well, but lot closer to see family in the Balkans there in normal circumstances) whereas PEH despite the agent guff is out for £££. Best bet is Everton who can blow Spurs and Ajax out of the water. Still, the more clubs interested the more the price creeps up, unless the player has set his heart on playing for Mourinho. If he has, KWP, Sessegnon on a year’s loan and £15m would reasonable.

    20/21 Kit

Liking the home, third kit similar to the 10/11 sash I still own. If the blue one is like the mock up someone’s made below then I could see myself getting the home and away kits
  17. Threads from elsewhere, loving the comment about smelling the car park group from Didcot https://yellowsforum.co.uk/threads/06-07-20-l1-play-off-semi-final-leg-2-oufc-v-pompey.4015/page-10 Sunderland happy - https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/portsmouth-fans.1473461/ and https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/is-there-a-rivalry-now-between-safc-and-pompey.1522662/ Brighton - https://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?381070-Good-luck-to-Oxford-United-tonight/page9
  18. My wish came true. That flatbed cab and accompanying convoy will be full Asda Smart Price lager cans, copies of Fishing Weekly and used Kleenex. Excellent 24 hours of football.
  19. Is it wrong to want an Oxford victory on penalties to give those unwashed sitting on the crates a miserable but no doubt Lidl value lager filled journey home? I think it will have to be the only way for Oxford as Pompey look the more dangerous (although those craters look more dangerous than both)
  20. Proud of them all. Delighted for Adams, pity the sound didn’t work on his interview. Goal reminded me of Long’s v Villa under Koeman. Keeper and back 4 all superb and commitment all round great. City threw the kitchen sink even with nothing to play for. BBC1 as well.
  21. It’s like Reed and Wilson went there for a summer. Bournemouth have got some garbage on comparatively big wages to their future income - Cook, Solanke, Lerma - we wanted Mepham but don’t know what happened to him. Ibe must have been a big waste too.
  22. Cantwell too - too much of a luxury outside of the top six but coveted by those clubs. Godfrey and Aarons as well, both would be ideal in Ralph’s system but Godfrey wanted by Man U/Chelsea and others. Spurs love him but can’t even afford PEH with only a year left on his contract. Would prefer Buendia but he’s heading for bigger things. Bournemouth’s trio are Ake, Brooks and Wilson that clubs will target, would like Brooks but not sure we will buy in that position. Villa literally have Grealish and their reliance on him and according lack of goals will see them join Norwich and Bournemouth.
  23. Probably was a good bit of business though, Targett seems to have had a few problems with hamstrings, went again the other day. IIRC he tore it badly v Burnley under Puel.
  24. I agree on Reed, it was a clear sign he should have been sacked even then if Kreuger had given the remotest toss by that point. However, Fraser has had 3 years paid at the level for one awful game at West Ham Athletics Park and a better season at Championship level. I’d be embarrassed if it was me. If Gunn has to be loaned out, then I’d literally only not pick McCarthy if he couldn’t physically get on the pitch for some reason eg ACL injury. I was at most of the early Pellegrino games, and saw many of the howlers eg Watford and Burnley. His own back 4 dreaded playing with him and the crowd were uneasy any time a shot was taken from distance.
  25. Forster is a greedy git. I still resent the additional unwarranted contract extension as it stank it the time and still does now. If and when the crowds return, and if Ralph has to use him, he’d better be a million times better than 17/18 where he couldn’t be bothered to dive or his name is going to be booed on the tannoy before the game even starts.
