  1. I’m quite relieved actually, Republicans could have re-grouped by 2024 and the mid-terms before that with a more intelligent and coherent leadership and cohesion. Now they’ve bottled it and the equivalent of Labour when they were continuing to select Corbyn as leader. In the Republicans’ case, that leaves Proud Boys, Q Anon and various other violent Neo Nazi thugs embedded in the heart of the GOP. So every time one of the far right stands for re-election from the Trump Nazi wing on a phoney law and order ticket, all the Democrats have to do is play the videos from Capitol Hill. Job done. When a far right party votes to obliterate itself over four years, ripping itself apart, what’s not to like?
  2. Bizarre that Long’s contract was extended. Not quite Les Reed/Forster levels of iffy ness but certainly the business rationale is very thin. His pace was his only asset. Talking of people being kept on too long, I think Hodgson will be retiring before the end of the season. They aren’t going down so chance to bed someone new in to the manager’s chair.
  3. Simply not good enough, work with Wolves to get him demoted. The decisions Saturday were a total joke. Tonight our midfielder already threw the game away but the Adams offside VAR was a joke. No chance of banning Dean although the Saints fans will remember. TBF he has done over most PL clubs at some stage with ineptitude. We’ve got fit lower league ex pros who will be out of work through the legacy of COVID. Get them trained and fast tracked up the ladder, they have played the game at a decent level and actually understand it. There’s been some decent non-playing refs - Webb, Durkin etc - but so many poor ones. PGMOL - turkeys don’t vote for Christmas.
  4. Wankerwit. Not such a big cheese now are we? Let’s see your team of parasites talk their way out that one when you are being hawked around the Dutch or Austrian leagues. The PL is for men’s football, not juniors.
  5. More the attractive release fee from Salzburg £7m or so, which at the time struggled to buy you a decent Championship midfielder. The marketing angle won’t have hurt but remember he’d already hurt Liverpool in the CL in the games against them. Decent loan for Saints with Theo out for a few weeks, Adams and Danny a bit off tune, and Redmond has been poor this year. Big rest of the season for Nathan, needs to sharpen up and get back to the form and focus of early on in Ralph’s time. A bit of genuine competition helped Oriol with Diallo so hoping same again. Whoever gave Long a two year extension needs a rocket though. Waste of ££ when the club is skint.
  6. May need both if Sat’s injuries are medium-long term
  7. 5 year contract rumoured to be for £25k pw last summer. So unlikely to be a perm but wages shouldn’t be a major issue if he wants more experience.
  8. More of an attacking mid - and pushing on a bit in age now. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Starbuck
  9. Dean will get away without the level of scrutiny for that appalling and incompetent mistake as it’s a late kick off between mid table sides but he has long form for being allowed nowhere near a professional football pitch https://punditfeed.com/quick-reads/mike-dean-controversial-referee/ https://www.theguardian.com/football/2010/apr/07/mike-dean-demotion-alex-ferguson https://news.paddypower.com/football/2018/11/29/mike-deans-refereeing-incidents/ https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/arsenal-news-mike-dean-penalty-decision-vs-west-brom-wrong-arsene-wenger-ban-a8147356.html Ralph needs to hammer Dean for this and if SFC has the courage to ban Dean from all matches involving us, other clubs will follow eg Arsenal, Man U.
  10. They were dreadful first half, no running or pressure on Fulham at all and Lemina played well. Second half he and Fulham invisible, WBA new striker from Galatasaray has made a huge difference with pace and power, set up the second goal. Lemina just hooked for Harrison Reed. Nearly 3-1, Bartley very close having got the equaliser.
  11. Just about to watch WBA v Fulham, and Lemina preferred to Harrison Reed

    Coronavirus

I agree, citing events of generations ago, totally wrong and unethical as those were (syphilis trials in the US) has no relevance to taking the COVID vaccines in 2020. On the logic of the loons spreading this content, people in Wiltshire will refuse them because of the Porton Down experiments of the 1950s. We know statistically that BAME communities are more vulnerable so go and get it done when the invite arrives. If people have safety concerns, ask their doctor, they will advise. No excuse for taking the word of extremist posters and conspiracy theorists.

    Coronavirus

Very sad and only 46 - warning to us all. Some of the public has to wise up around severity of the virus and these second and third strains seem more random in who they will seriously maim and kill. Social media need to follow the lead they had with Trump and put false flag warnings on anti-Vax and conspiracy theory liars. I don’t want to ban them because if they go underground it’s even more dangerous and would rather expose their warped agendas in public. It’s like Trumpism is another form of global contagion https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9196591/Covid-UK-Covid-denying-conspiracy-theorist-46-dies-coronavirus-refusing-wear-mask.html
  14. If KWP does a quad muscle injury, those can be tricky if you play him again too quickly, especially given the nature of how he plays eg high energy up and down the flanks. Club would be barmy even by recent standards not to offer Ralph another short-term FB option finances or not. Would get the money back IMO through a top 10 finish which the FB situation risks. If Vesty had only been a month’s absence then Jack to RB as Valery just isn’t a RB in a 4. RWB in a 5 maybe. Salisu has been a waste really which hasn’t helped Ralph. Vest is out for a while and KWP who knows. Schedule this year means even with good attention to detail, there have been more muscle injuries beyond the normal impact ones than we’ve seen under Ralph. FBs are high wear and tear positions.
  15. Wracking and stacking started in the early 2000s, Chelsea the worst offenders but others have been doing it. Agents and families getting greedy but in the majority of cases the player is playing second or third division football by 24. Saints have done it more selectively but their hand has been forced by Reed and his minions destroying the academy. Ralph hasn’t seen enough from him to start him yet despite a record of blooding young players and this from the agent and player won’t help matters. Player has to be careful he doesn’t end up like Callum Slattery, who seems to be drifting down the leagues despite a lot of headlines and hype when he was younger. Ask for a loan and sign a new deal because if Diallo carries on developing he will be sold in 12-18 months and the boy will have a PL CM starting opportunity that I’m not sure he would get elsewhere. Probably needs to change his agent.
  16. No it doesn’t, but just underscores the idiocy and hypocracy in deregulating throughout the 1980s so financial services became front and centre in economic activity, which despite the credit crunch it still is, and then the same party destroying it with Brexit. This country has gone mad, really lost the plot, handing the clearing house market to NYC on a plate. All very well talking about levelling up, but that will take decades to bear serious fruit. Still, going by early polls for the spring local elections, the public especially in the midlands and north is still lapping up the empty nationalist gesturing. Labour is gaining seats alright but they are LD ones in the main. Swinson destroyed them in the 2019 GE with the policy to reverse Brexit if they miraculously got a majority.
  17. If Whatmough had scored a third OG yesterday, would he have been entitled to a match ball signed by the Hull players?
  18. Oh great, looks like the forum has a couple more QAnon weirdos to join the two loopy ex-pats.
  19. Biden senile? I think OP needs to have a good look in the mirror. Far left as well, deary me. GM is a bit old for the Proud Boys. Clearly Boris’s lockdowns are having a heavy impact on the forum’s sanatogen generation. Time for GM’s nap.
  20. Nice pic. Knife edge as to whether Senate will impeach. Would suit the moderate Republicans to ban Trump for 2024 and sever him from the party. However, might be better for the Democrats if he is in the background as they will hold onto both Houses for longer. Not good for Biden’s first 100 days though.
  21. There’s clearly some very bad people in Maidstone on a Friday night - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-55626148

    Coronavirus

This times a million. Let’s see if Matthew Sinclair wants to run a story on how a Conservative donor is wasting taxpayers money at an obscene rate? No, thought not, but one can’t bite the hand that feeds them I suppose
  23. Thats certainly what many hauliers are asking. Disproportionate impact on NI, who overwhelmingly voted remain - https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/hauliers-spending-tens-of-thousands-to-bring-empty-lorries-to-northern-ireland-39956472.html Certainly on your story about sandwiches look like the type of irrelevance it is but then a certain fat blonde bloke made a career out of that sort of thing. Good job as he wasn’t capable of making a career any other way. GM - the Sheffield United 2020/21 of the thread
  24. Two more examples for you although the latter is more an example of being a fly by night. The Thatcherites loved the tackiness I’m sure. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/waking-watch-housing-secretary-fire-b1784448.html https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/mar/15/grant-shapps-admits-he-had-second-job-as-millioniare-web-marketer-while-mp
  25. The Republicans need to have a top to bottom clear out now. 68% of their Congress reps voted to have Trump as a fascist dictator, tacitly supporting the appalling violence which made Millwall at Luton in 1985 look like a tea party. Lauren Boebert is one of the first to expel, leading the scum to Pelosi’s office. Every time she says something she makes Sarah Palin look and sound like Einstein. Cruz needs to go from the Senate as well, what a moron supporting the orange one after the appalling things Trump and his boneheads said about Cruz in 2015 and 2016. Well done on PGA America for taking the USA PGA away from Bedminster in 2022. Just a taste of the oblivion which awaits the GOP if they do turn towards Trump facism, it will be like Corbyn with Labour on steroids. The Democrats probably need a few years to sort things out nationally whilst the Republicans fight like ferrets in a sack. Colin Powell has apparently left the Republicans - one less senior figure with the brains and skills to sort them out.
