  1. Selles can get off to a flyer simply by not selecting Janny B, Diallo and Lyanco. If he goes down that route he’s condemned himself before a ball is kicked.
  2. It’s not just refereeing though is it? Pretty much standards in society have plummeted. Few people want to take any responsibility and it’s always someone else fault. The younger generation appear to have a sense of entitlement and those in positions of authority such as teachers and Police Officers have had their positions continually eroded. TBH as things stand there’s probably little chance of reversing things without a total reset. I love the story about the parent of a ref who was watching his young son referee. The lad was getting dogs abuse so the parent identified the player of the parent giving the worst abuse and started telling the lad how rubbish he was. It didn’t take long for the parent to interject and tell the parent of the referee that it was his son and he was a child. When it was pointed out that his son, the referee, was also a child the other parent shut up straight away and nothing else was said all game.
  3. Wow just Wow!,! Let that sink in……….Pep - outplayed, outthought, out scored and lost to a NJ side!!
  4. Absolutely this. He didn’t come here with a view to it ending like this. NJ and Saints were a very poor fit but I certainly don’t bear him any ill will. There’s ten of thousands of people dead from an earthquake not many hours from here so really in the great scheme of things NJ’s shambolic reign isn’t the end of the world.
  5. I think we need a touch of realism here………..Poch, Pep, Klopp etc etc ain’t coming here!! Ralph until end of the season and then re-set? In unlikely event that he keeps us up…………then maybe there’s a question to be asked? I only say him as he knows the players etc and right now time is short and games are running out
  6. It is a good squad but I disagree with you Farenam over this season. If we’d have got the decision right pre World Cup we’d have been okay. What do you think he’s cost us…….. £5M a point? Staggering incompetence. For me the new management should come in for next season so they don’t also suffer a car crash, this one is done.of course I hope I’m wholly wrong and I’m made to eat my words!!
  7. He’s gone1
  8. SR should come out and say whether they intend to give him until the end of the season because this game by game basis helps nobody.
  9. I’m still not convinced as to whether he is the correct man. However having listened to the press conference and having listened to the fans forum from the other night I think there’s room for optimism. We all make mistakes, not everyone is a great orator, we’d all take a great opportunity if it was presented to us and probably most wouldn’t set out to do a poor job if they had such an opportunity. I genuinely think NJ realises he may have reacted wrongly and maybe just maybe what he said was lost in translation. Yes I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt but it helps nobody to keep berating him and from what I’ve heard and certainly from player reactions when we’ve got results in games they like playing for him. That in itself means an awful lot and if on Saturday it’s clear they’re prepared to run through brick walls for him then perhaps we could pull a rabbit from a hat and dig ourselves out of this mess. One thing’s for sure though, the team will need the fans onside…………oh and one more thing…….I’m not part of NJ’s family or close circle of friends!!
  10. Great post and interesting too. I watched it though and just wondered how players like Obafemi would get their head round what he was saying!
  11. If I was NJ and the Saints coaching staff I’d show that finish to Che and suggest he takes note of what a composed finish looks like!!
  12. I’m currently listening to it and have read all the posts. FWIW I take a few things from it that aren’t all negative (sorry if that doesn’t fit the narrative). Fair play to them for fronting up to everything asked and appearing to try and give candid and honest answers. Ultimately I think Wolves will be the watershed moment for NJ - literally a must win game. Look, we may not like all of what they had to say and we all probably think we could do a better job but I bet plenty of other clubs wouldn’t have even entertained a forum like this BIM everything that’s going on with the club.
  13. I wise man doesn’t have to speak but a fool has to say something…….maybe NJ should bare that in mind!
  14. Yes. I was at the game and couldn’t believe what was going on in respect of team selection, the tactics and ultimately the result. We just seemed to go off a cliff and we’ve never recovered. It’s baffling really as, like others allude to, our form was decent up until then.
  15. This will be lost on those who’ve not read the complete thread! 😂
  16. I wonder if, during their meetings at SMS, they have factored in relegation and losing the saleable assets we have and come to the conclusion they NJ is the best person to try and bring us up? If they have it won’t just be this week that he’s stil with us 😂
  17. We were linked with Marsch………..
  18. Absolutely this. We need to start preparing for an assault on the Championship.
  19. We so missed the boat:
  20. I completely agree. However I suspect he said what he needed to in order to get the job, thinking he could change things as soon as he arrived and do what he wanted. Unfortunately he found he couldn’t and has tried to run with it hoping that results would follow.
  21. You know what I’m not a great fan of his, don’t think he’s the answer and there are clearly issues. However in that interview he’s called some people out and showed a bit of fight. IF, and I say IF it’s SR calling some of the shots re selection etc then he’s shown more backbone than Ralph who, from results and performances, would have appeared to have just rolled over. If the players are on board, if NJ is still here next Saturday and he’s as good as his word then I’d expect a completely different performance to what we’ve been seeing. Unfortunately there’s lots of ‘ifs’ in there. I also wonder if (sorry!) SR will impose a gagging order on him if they sack him.
  22. I know we won but for me the Man City team should have started at Everton. Andy so on and so forth. Get a winning team mentality - keep winning, keep getting results, keep your place
  23. Completely agree. He’s said it so now let’s see what you’re made of NJ.
  24. The club have a decision to make. We’re going down but if they keep him I’m sure that ST sales etc will plummet more than they would by just being relegated. Keeping NJ and relegation could equal implosion
  25. I’d suggest that’s quite fortunate!
