No bridges burned……something tells me we’ll see him again
-
Our demise recently appears to be one because of missed opportunities - let’s hope this season doesn’t follow that path.
-
Good luck JWP. I genuinely think you cared and ultimately it’s all we should ask for as fans. Loved to have seen you stay but understood why you have gone.
-
In fairness that’s pretty much always been the case
-
Start blowing....so to speak
-
Lose Saturday and RM has heaped a load of pressure on himself and any quality we have will be running for the hills.
-
That’s interesting. So Chelsea have allegedly lowered their sell on clause percentage? Why would they do that? They’re not a charity so are we about to maybe deal with them in respect of another player - doubt it relates to Awe.
-
If that’s correct then he’s off. They’ll eventually pay the £35M - which FWIW is scandalously low for someone with his length of contract, experience, ability and attitude.
-
Trouble is he’s completely psychotic and by the looks of it, from last night and from seeing preseason, the dressing room is pretty united.
-
Where abouts? Not Winchester way then?
-
Stephen’s new 2 year contract……..I think that’s a decent bit of business BIM the league we’re in
-
Smoke and mirrors by the club I think to try and make it look like we’re a really attractive proposition and to generate a bit of FOMO.
-
That list could go on a bit!!
-
WH back in for JWP with improved offer according to Sky Transfer Show 🙄
-
Winstons lad or a close relative? Hope he has a better work ethic if he is!
-
Interesting that Latvia starts tonight. That’s a real ‘it’s £50M or don’t bother us again’ rebuke to Liverpool. If we we’re ready to take the £40M he simply wouldn’t have played.

I was listening to Darragh MacAnthkny the owner of Peterborough United yesterday on TalkSPORT. FWIW, like Simon Jordan, I think he speaks some sense at times. He knows RM and RA and said two things that I got me looking at this season with more optimism. Firstly he said to expect some ‘delicious’ football under RM and that RA won’t be having his trousers pulled down over transfers or players worth. He then backed it up with example’s and was categoric that if RM had been appointed post Ralph we wouldn’t have been relegated.

Sunderland or Southampton? On every level, whether personal or professional we should be a better option. That said I’m not at all convinced about his injury record.

This is from their website. You have to love the 2nd paragraph!! Al Duhail Sports Club Management concluded their contract with the French midfielder Ibrahima Diallo coming from the Premier League side Southampton after the player passed the medical examination. Diallo, who was born in France in 1999, succeeded in shining with his team in the English Premier League for three seasons. The player began his professional career with the French side Monaco and joined Brest on loan before moving to the Premier League. He represented French National Team U18 and U21. Diallo is considered an important asset added to our team midfield line, preparing for the new football season participating in many local and continental competitions.

If TL happened that would be good business. A very healthy profit and who knows if he’ll be the same player. As for JWP that could also be good business depending on the sums involved.
-
I didn’t like him for a number of reasons. However he wouldn’t have had the career he had at the very top level if he couldn’t actually referee. Maybe his arrogance has been his final undoing?
-
If we honestly think Winks wouldn’t have been a decent signing then I feel people are either deluded or will be massively disappointed by who we do eventually sign. We are not PL and at our level he’d have been outstanding.
-
That bleep test on its own shows what a good professional JWP is and why he’s managed so many games at the top level.
-
Maybe given the injury and potential long term prognosis the club feel it’s a good deal? I remember when JRod was out - wasn’t there the possibility of him moving on but he didn’t? He clearly wasn’t the same player again.

Thoughts on what points tally is acceptable after the first ten games? There are some very valid points raised above but as we know patience and football don’t go hand in hand. Very crudely, based on last season in the Championship, 1.5 points a game gets us into the top 6. So after ten games BIM the regime change, is 15 points acceptable?
