RESTORE OUR RIGHT TO PRIORITY TICKETS FOR HOME GAMES - PLEASE!!!!!
42 replied to 42's topic in The Saints
There is supposed to be no abuse on this forum. The insults coming my way have ranged from childish to evil. I think I am entitled to a little retort. However, I am happy to indulge with contrasting examples. 1, A man has 2 sons and the three of them have been season ticket holders for 15 years. This year one of the sons is away in Afghanistan on an extended holiday courtesy of HM Forces. The man now drops a season ticket as who can afford £700 for a son who cant attend. The son gets some leave to come home and dad wants to get a ticket for the big game - sorry mate you need to wait until general sale 2. Another man has 2 sons and buys 3 PAYG tickets on a one off basis as he doesn't care that much about football. He stays away all season until a big game comes up and he would like to take a couple of mates instead. No problem have 3 tickets. He chuckles at his good fortune. -

RESTORE OUR RIGHT TO PRIORITY TICKETS FOR HOME GAMES - PLEASE!!!!!

NO NO NO - WRONG! - Let's try again by simple steps. 1. I register 2 customer numbers - 1 for me and 1 for my Portsmouth mate. 2. I buy 2 tickets and take him or a different mate it does not matter. I am now ahead of the list of any ST holder to take whatever mate I want to. 3. I buy 3 more tickets for me and a guest and I am now top priority, first in the queue for all top games. ST holders can eat my s@*t as they are so far behind me in bringing their mates that I laugh at their foolishness for buying a ST -
I agree. Forget the walking on water , the water into wine, the raising the dead stuff, the fishes and the loaves, the rising from the dead etc etc. When you take some time out, ignore the mumbo jumbo rituals and read what Jesus was reported to have said I have to conclude that he was an all round good bloke. If we could all just aspire to his code then life would be so much better for all of us.

In the most simplest simple simpleton of terms in Simplesville - buy 2 tickets (under 2 customer numbers) gives you a higher priority than every one of the 20,000 ST holders to take a guest. It really is not hard to understand. Buy only 4 tickets for you and your mates who have never been to any games in their lives and you are in front of everybody else to buy tickets for guests. Get it? -
First of all obscurity does not mean the evidence is weak, secondly the age of the article (post 1978) does not make it weak, thirdly populist (curiously the opposite of obscure so you covered the spectrum of opinion!) does not make it weak. Fourthly, your own reference recognises that a multi-decadal trend may exist - doh! Fifthly, rubbishing a 'populist' viewpoint and then putting up a 'populist' link of your own is hardly the brightest move. My point is that no one truly knows or can categorically prove the causes or combination of causes for warming and that both effects could be combining. My main point however is that World population needs controlling and that the combination of massive population and emerging middle classes of billions increasing their carbon footprints needs to be tackled more urgently than the fiddling around the edges we are doing today

At last - someone can see the loophole. I know the Club don't intend this to happen - that is why it is a loophole! The current policy actually allows people to buy a couple of tickets and get priority to bring a guest over 20,000 ST holders. Whether it bothers anyone or not I don't care. I have done the sums and this option only becomes uneconomic at 17 games. Most ST holders miss more than 2 games so if you are happy to sit in different seats, want flexibility, want to bring mates who have never been to a game in their lives PLUS save cash then ditch the ST. RESTORE OUR RIGHT TO PRIORITY TICKETS FOR HOME GAMES - PLEASE!!!!!
42 replied to 42's topic in The Saints
WRONG - I am saying that someone who turns up with his mate (on 2 customer numbers) just for 1 game has priority to bring another mate to the top games over any ST holder. How is that right? Buy 3 more games and you are top of the list to bring any mate you like! Get it now? -

Anyone - just answer this one question please - Why is it right that someone could purposely buy just one ticket for one game with a mate (on separate customer numbers) and then get priority over 20,000 ST holders to bring any other mate who has never been to a game in his life to the prime home games. If you understand this loophole then buy just 3 more tickets and bring 3 completely different mates who have never been to a game in their lives PLUS be at the front of the queue for more tickets going forward. Now do you get the point? -
Skeptical science is not the most objective source of info. I suggest you keep an open mind to BOTH sources of warming as the sun IS getting hotter. The 2 issues are not mutually exclusive after all so don't fall into the trap of saying the sun is cooling to prove it is not part of the problem ;-) http://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?topic=5239 http://lubbockonline.com/news/092897/study.htm http://partners.nytimes.com/library/national/science/093097sci-sun.html

Good point. Here is an interesting page: http://www.eoearth.org/view/article/156098/ I noticed the comment which accompanies a graph showing increases from the sun output from 1978 to 2000. It says: 'Some researchers have also suggested that the increase in the average global temperature over the last century may have been solar in origin. This statement, however, is difficult to prove because accurate data on solar output of radiation only goes back to about 1978'. The human global warming lobby may have a valid point but it is their almost jihadist type resistance to any other opinion and aggressive belittling of others which is bad for their own cause and bad for keeping an open mind. I think we absolutely should reduce our carbon footprint so no argument there but tinkering around the edges will not solve the issue anywhere near as much as stopping the population from hitting 10 Billion in 30 years. Refusal of the lobby to accept they might be partially wrong is ironically letting the global warming situation get worse

Sorry Bexy - I wish you were right (I really do) but China and India are still going in the opposite direction. Your links only show they both have plans to do something about it but their growing middle classes (hundreds of millions) will want what we have in the West and that will drive carbon footprint per head. Their efforts will amount to rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic I would guess that China may make some head way but India has no chance. What is worse is India's population is totally out of control (£1.5billion in 15 years time) and that does not count the millions who emigrate and repeat the cycle abroad I am totally sold on reducing pollution but still maintain that we are deluding ourselves somewhat about the size of our impact on temperature and that the Sun's variations will always have significantly more impact than we ever will. My view is action is needed whatever but the global warming lobby are well meaning but have their eye of the ball because population control is too much of a hot potato. They remind me a little of the AIDS lobby back in the 80's. For political reasons (to deflect from high risk groups) they decided to reduce the threat to those high risk groups and the general populous by terrifying absolutely everyone by saying we were all equally at significant risk which was and still is an outright lie. My view is that a 100 year population reduction plan is the way to go and we should all be focusing on this as the primary objective. As a by product, it achieves a reduction in global warming, reduces risk of war over resources and gives the other creatures on this planet a chance.

Glad I could help. Don't let anyone else know though as they are all convinced I am a loon ;-)

The BBC are hardly unbiased so for me so the jury is still out; minor variations in the Sun could explain warming every bit as convincingly. However, my concern is that it does seem that reducing carbon emissions is a waste of time when China and India are going in the opposite directions. For every car driver in Europe and the US who decides to park the car and cycle there are 1000 people chucking their bicycle away and jumping in a car. If the World really wants to STOP IT then perhaps it should look at population control. 3 billion when I was born 53 years ago and more than 7 billion now. South Asia is the main culprit and it is doing NOTHING to stem its population growth which will overtake China very soon. South Asia is also the source of the new middle classes who will be growing their carbon footprints like crazy over the next 20 years. 1.5 billion South Asians somewhat dwarfs little ole UK, Europe and USA combined. Therefore save your energy for those guys as they are the ones that need waking up more than any of us.

Apologies - *****axed income = untaxed income

Perhaps Turkish could have said go to a mosque in Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Bangladesh, Somalia, Indonesia and tell them its all b******s and see what response you get. None of those nations are as tolerant as this one which is something that this country can be proud of.

After watching the baiting and the bullying above. It appears on this thread that some people feel they can say what they want about one faith but are scared to death to comment on other religions in case they sound bigoted and/or get banned. This is the real issue that stifles true freedom of speech and debate on this forum and in broader life. If someone can attack one religion without fear of reprisal they should be able to criticise other belief systems without attack or ridicule. However, that will not happen in modern Britain and it definitely wont happen on this forum. Therefore, it is a waste of time discussing it as the outcomes will be biased to the intolerant and aggressive every time. Like many (if not the majority) in this Country, I am a lapsed Christian (christenings, weddings and funerals only). Like many, I believe in the basic humanist rules of Christianity for leading my life but have evolved to opt out of the literal aspects that many feel are now irrelevant. Others who follow different belief systems and maintain those literal aspects will be tolerated but those literal aspects will not be accepted as relevant any more - that is our free choice to do so. Be thankful that this society is tolerant and allows this to happen. If you lived in many of those other societies you would not be able to express an opinion or exhibit free speech. Peace

Funny thing is Moyes did better in his first 31 games with Man U than Ferguson did: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Blwevu7IQAA7spU.jpg:large Bottom line is following Fergie was a hospital pass - let's hope he gets his wad of cash. Martinez took over a well oiled machine from a peer/equal. Moyes took over a team in awe of a manager that had achieved God like status in the Premiership. No comparison really - he never stood a chance.

How the 'K code' works If your deductions *****axed income on which tax is still due) are more than your allowances you'll be given a K code, to ensure you pay tax on the excess. Whereas with other tax codes the number indicates the amount of income you can have tax-free, the number in a K code multiplied by ten broadly indicates how much must be added to your taxable income to take account of the excess untaxed income you received. The tax deducted for each pay period cannot be more than half of your gross pay or pension for that period. If more tax is due you will pay it at a later date. You might see a K code used if you have: • company benefits • state benefits • tax to pay back from an earlier tax year When a K code is operated, your tax deduction for each pay period cannot be more than half of your gross pay or pension. Your employer or pension provider restricts the amount of tax deducted using a K code to make sure that you retain a certain amount of take home pay or pension. If more tax is due it will be collected at a later date. K code example K497 means: • your untaxed income was approximately £4,970 greater than your taxable income • as a result, approximately £4,970 must be added to your total taxable income to ensure the right amount of tax is collected (The actual calculation is more complex and of course precise - and ensures that the exactly right amount is added to your taxable income.) I trust that helps

Sorry guys we really have to leave this very addictive thread. We got what we wanted thanks - which is good feedback for a campaign to change the system with the influence at our disposal. If that fails then we will just exploit the loophole to our advantage and save cash on buying loads of tickets at will for ourselves, family, guests etc etc. Bye! -
