  1. Fulham 2-1 up now against Liverpool
  2. Newcastle sound out of it already which is great for us. First time I have been cheering on spurs for a long time. Probably since they played Pompey in the FA cup semi final a few years ago.
  3. 37 points was enough to stay up last year, I think it could be slightly higher this year but I am pretty sure we will be well above 40 points by then. It is a nice feeling to be clear of the danger zone so early in the season. Top 6 finish would be good
  4. They won't be match sharp though, I think it will work in our favour. Its about time we beat them and I reckon we will finally do so this weekend.
  5. Great hard fought win! Nice to see lawro got it wrong again too
  6. Stubborn Stoke got what they came for. At least the skates conceded a last minute equaliser at Exeter to put a smile on our faces and soften the blow of our dropping points
  7. That would have been a nice idea. Its a shame it didn't happen. The Doctor could even of name checked the films after seeing the posters. He could have said something along the lines of "They made a couple of films about me once, it must have been Chesterton selling our stories of my first encounters with the Daleks." Obviously Peter Cushing's films were remakes of TV adventures starring William Hartnell as the first Doctor. Rather than playing a new incarnation of the now famous renegade Time Lord. Peter Cushing played a human scientist called Dr Who in two non-canon films. To be fair at the time of making the films they didn't know the Doctor in the series was a Time Lord but they did know he was an alien from another planet and not an eccentric inventor from earth.
  8. Well I guess there is always a chance he could surprise a few people. I guess he knows the team and the players but if I supported Swansea I think I'd be very unhappy with that appointment.
  9. That's a crazy move. Who can they expect to come in and do a better job at this point of the season? If they get the appointment wrong they could end up relegated.
  10. If money is the main motivation then I'm sure he'll be off to West Ham in the summer, if they stay up. Being a bit of a cynic I did wonder if the timing of Rickies injury was to do with the potential move to West Ham. Avoiding game time so he could past a medical. I guess we will never know for sure. I just hope he hasn't had his head turned by the money on offer. Now seeing this second half of the season as his big goodbye to the Saints fans.
  11. Yes I had thought that but then you have to ask why? What changed from last summer when he signed his new contract and he said he wanted to stay until the end of his career? From the daily echo http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/109...tury_of_goals I asked this question “It has been the best four-and-a-half years of my life,” he said. “I have given everything and I will carry on giving everything I can while I am here. I have absolutely loved it.” Noticed the way he phrased " I will carry on giving everything I can while I am here." Made me think he has changed his thinking a bit since he sign his contract last year. I do wonder what made him unhappy. Was it Osvaldo? Was it a falling out with Cortese? I did wonder that maybe he felt he was struggling to keep up with Pochettino's high pressing game. Whatever the reason I hope all the factors involved are resolved now and he is happy again. I hope Pochettino sees he is a valuable asset to the team and worth keeping. I hope he can finish his career for us. Many mentioned the he played a little bit of a deeper role on Saturday and it seemed to suit him. Maybe Poch will play him there from now on.
  12. No doubt Adam had read some of the rumours but If they are good friends Rickie may have mentioned something to Adam about maybe moving on. When I read the Lallana interview, I read it as he knew there was something more in it than just speculation. Anyway I echo Lallana's comments ...to see Rickie still here in a Saints shirt means the world to me as well
  13. Even Lallana said this... Southampton FC ‏@SouthamptonFC 15h Lallana on Lambert: “There was speculation about him so to see him still here in a #SaintsFC shirt means the world to me and the Club.” So there was definitely something going on.
  14. Apparently when pompey are losing that is when their fans are best! (see above) So if they were the best fans in the world before just imagine they must be super fans at this moment in time
  15. Did Rickie want to go though? “It has been the best four-and-a-half years of my life,” he said. 17. I had forgotten Cork played for us on loan then, but wasn't he playing as a right back then?
  18. Not if you are a Saints fan
  19. Still don't see why Carroll is considered a better option to Rickie. You can guarantee he'll go to the world cup instead of him though.
  20. What a waste of money. Talk about throwing your money down the drain!
  21. Anyone hear what he had to say?
  22. Today's goal for Lambert got me thinking, would he still have been here to score if Nicola was still here? We heard the stories of him wanting to go to West Ham, was it true? If so was it Rickie who wanted to leave or was it Cortese wanting to ship him out? Either way I'm glad he is still here. Really chuffed for Rickie today. A true Saints legend! I hope that is the first of at least the next 50 for us.
  23. This is dragging on a bit, I thought it would be confirmed by now. How long does a medical take these days ?
  24. I just wish it was a permeant deal and not a loan! Juventus are obviously wary of him and not wanting to commit. Its a shame we didn't just loan him instead of wasting 15 million on him.
  25. Agreed. No class at all. Like he's a spoilt child, having a temper tantrum and now he's got his way. Thing is we need him to do well there otherwise he'll be back
