I reckon it will be a tough game today, I know alot of us are expecting a big win and that is what worries me a little. I dont think its going to be a straight forward easy win. I just hope the squad dont become complacent because of recent results. That said we SHOULD beat them comfortably, my heart says a Saints win. My head says you know what Saints are like. So I just hope my hear is right and we are celebrating another 3 points come 5pm this evening.

Yeah I hope if ML ever does leave that Cortese will stay on. After all it was his idea to buy the club. Well he was the one who suggested it to Marcus. I am pretty sure he would know people with real money unlike Peter Storrie's recent track record for pompey!

I thought it was interesting to see he wasnt sure if Liebherr would stick around long term or not. I was hoping for a more positive answer to that one.

I like most of us on here hope we sign up Trotman but who else will be realistic targets for us in January? Which top players from other league one clubs might come and sign up to Saints play off charge? Are there more players of the quality of Ricky Lambert and Dean Hammond that we could snap up and that would want to sign for us? Are there any names of players we could make a serious offer for from our promotion rivals throwing a spanner in their bid to go up at the same time really strengthening us, and would they leave to join us? I am looking forward to January to find out, I wonder where we will be by then in the league? Hopefully we will be well out of the bottom four by then, still on our winning streak. Anyone heard any decent rumours recently?

Portsmouth Football Club having lots at money to spend is like Wayne and Waynetta Slob winning the lottery, it just should not happen and does not seem right at all!

On the surface It does seem to be a bit of a pointless loan signing. I mean he is going to have to find himself at this level before he fulfils any of his potential. I reckon that will take a lot longer than a month before that happens. If and when he does start to shine Reading will take him back and reap the benefits. So it does seem an odd deal to make right now.

I feel sick!!!!!!!!!! When will this last minute goal thing against us end? I know I'm stating the obvious here but we need new players and quick. If we don’t have enough strength in our team to any points off the likes of Bristol Rovers, Huddersfield and Swindon then we are going to be propping up the table for the rest of the season. Surely the time has come to get in some loan signing of real quality? Isn't it time we do a little of what Notts County are trying to do, just so we have a chance of staying up? I know we are trying to do things the right way and not bring players here for the money or spend above the clubs means but I think the time has come to spend a little above what revenue we have made if money is there now otherwise we will be playing our football in a new league again next season. Gillingham is going to be another tough game, they are another really physical team and I don’t think we will be able to deal with them with the current squad At best we’ll get a point off them.

No New sigings today IMO means a draw is the best we can hope for at Swindon. Whats the problem getting the players in? Is Alan aiming to high for players that are un prepared to drop down to this level to a club on -9 points?

I hope so, because we do not stand a chance of winning tomorrow without a new centre back. I hope AP can sort the defender deal out before tomorrow, but its looking very unlikely now though, with no firm rumours of anyone being linked and only 20 minutes left to sign until they would not be able to play tomorrow.

Surely Alan Pardew only accepted to become the Saints manager with the guarantee there would be money made available for new players? He must of told the owners he would need a certain amount to turn things around before signing on the dotted line? I would love to know that figure. I don’t think he would have become the new boss without some sort of assurances he would have money to spend, otherwise why drop down to a 3 division team with minus 10 points starting point? I mean signing up for a challenge is one thing but without any new signings (as in more than a few) he’d need a miracle and it will only further put a black mark on his CV after the Charlton blip. So I have to conclude he has money to spend and he has his targets but we are just going to have to wait a little longer as he gets them signed up. I just hope like most of us here, there are some deals completed before the season starts.

Thats correct, Paul Sturrock bought him for 2m, but Sky Sports news are saying Harry Redknapp bought him to Saints. Although he didn't sign him for us he did get the best out of him. His good season or half a season he had with us got his career back on track, I guess thats why he loves Harry so much and why he wants to be with him again.

AP definitely needs to get on and appoint his assistant and staff asap, as I am sure he is already aware. He has got his hands full trying to sort out the current squad and needs all the help he can get to sort this mess out before the season starts. I feel he still needs to organise some more pre season friendlies on top of the friendlies we have left. Is it just Hearts and OPR left now before the season starts? It would be good for the squad to have a few more games together with any potential new signings and new back room staff in place otherwise it is going to be a very slow start getting off the mark.

Hopefully this will result in the cheque book coming out asap. Alan Pardew has said on Saints TV that we need "a few" new players. I hope he means that in the metaphorical sense because like many others on here I think we need more than a few! I would have thought one of the main condition of agreeing to become the Saints manager was that he was guaranteed money to spend on the squad. I wonder what figure he was told he would have to spend? It would be very interesting to know!

I am feeling slightly deflated with this appointment, I wanted a least a few more days of dreaming it was Strachan! It could have been a lot worse (cough…Tony Adams) but it also could have been SO much better. I guess it’s a realistic appointment considering our current position. I just felt we needed a passionate manager and Alan Pardew has never really come across that way to me. He seems more pensive and reserved to me. Not sure he is going to be able to inspire the fans that much; hopefully he will inspire the player though!. Let’s hope he has some idea of who he wants to bring in and can get on strengthening the squad! I have the feeling its going to be along hard season ahead, I don’t think I would have been feeling that so much if it had been Strachan. I hope Alan and Saints are a perfect fit and he will stick with us long term. Most importantly I hope he can get us playing football again and get us back to the big time!
