Sorry I disagree. Playing him again could cost England. Yes he could redeem himself but he also make another big mistake. Its not about Robert Green and there is no room for sentiment in football. So what if it damages his confidence further I would say it shot to bits already. If you want to progress in this tournament you have to play the best team and Green isnt part of it. Capello will play him again because if he doesn't like admitting he was wrong to pick him in the first place. The truth is he was wrong to pick him. He was the most error prone player in the premier league last season and he shouldn't be anywhere near the England team. I really go not understand why he is there. You may think I am being harsh but like I said there is no room for sentiment in football. Green has had his chance and he blew it. Capello needs to hold his hands up admit his mistake in picking him and move on but he is so stubborn he will not. If Green plays tomorrow I will not be surprised if we blow it. I hope I am proved wrong, but I doubt I will be

Capello is one Stubborn git, looks like he is going to play him again. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jun/16/world-cup-2010-robert-green

Sounds that way to me... cheating skates!!!!!!!!!

I was trying to reply to this statement. I also heard this report on Sky sport news earlier. If pompey can appoint a manager surely that means they have agreement in place to please everybody otherwise why would anyone take the Job? I heard SSN mention Steve Coterill is set to be unveiled and that they hoped to have an agreement sorted with all their creditor by Thursday. I know it could be bull but they seemed pretty certain.

So after 555 pages looks like they have finally got away with it and our fun ends

I'm going to mention this again as I think its worth pointing out. According to Opta statistics, Green made more errors leading to goals than any other player in the Premier League last season. You'd think that the England manager would look at a statistic like that when choosing his team. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...10/8737289.stm So why has the most error prone player in the premier league now England number 1? I thought statistics played a big part in football now? Capello either didn't see this stat (which I can t imagine) or just didn't care.
-
To be honest I don't think he should be there. I think Paul Robinson should have been given another chance. I the Capello was being stubborn about "his man" He has made him an England regular and is determined to make it work for him as England's number 1. According to Opta statistics, Green made more errors leading to goals than any other player in the Premier League last season. You'd think that the England manager would look at a statistic like that when choosing his team. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2010/8737289.stm I would Give Joe Hart a game in the next match, but I get the feeling Stubborn Capello will stick with his man Green
-
Obviously I meant Harsh... but yeah maybe he was smoking something. Maybe Capello was smoking something when he picked Green in the first place. I really do not know why Capello has chosen Green he is no Peter Shilton thats for sure and we will not go very far in this world cup with him in goal.

Joe Hart to start next time or even put the Skate in goal. But no more Robert Green please!!! Hash but true
-
Well as long as the players like it and feel confident playing in it. Maybe it will grow on me. At least its not pink like Everton's new away kit. That reminds me of Jossy's Giants. There was an episode where the girls put their red kit in the wash with the boys' white one, thus making the giants play in a pink kit.

oh b*gger...perhaps we have someone better lined up? maybe not? I hope so though. We definitely need a new right back. Unless Pardew has plans to play a player out of their natural position and although Harding had a good game there at Wembley I would rather we have a natural right back in place.

Here is the whole clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyNvyn0mBXY&feature=player_embedded#! I have much more respect for Patrick Stewart as an actor than I do James Corden but I do wonder why he felt the need to have a go at him in the manner he did. Perhaps he has got to the grump old man age. He was probably watching him all night thinking just how is it you have made it in to show business? It was obviously eating away at him so much that he felt the need to speak out and get it off his chest. I have to say it did seem to very rude though. I wonder if he regrets it now? Unless it was all an elaborate joke?

If it has to be the sash kit how about the colours in reverse like this? http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd147/HoloJames/Saintstop.jpg
-
I thought people sung Alan Pardew's Red and White army? Anyway I agree it should be Red and White. The Sash kit design just feels too white to me. But what do I know hey? Everyone else here seems set on the Sash. As I said before as long as most of the fans like it and the team like wearing it then I guess its all good.
-
As you are trying to point out... Its not about what I want is it? I wasn't saying I was right not to want it changed just that I personally didn't like it. I personally feel Stripes sum up saints, Just my opinion.
-
NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..... Saints = stripes. I just can't get enthusiastic about this sash kit idea. I realise the Sash design was Saints first kit but it just doesn't say Southampton football club to me. If we have to go down this root for a one off shirt this season in honour of our 125th year then at the least I hope we return to stripes the following season. If the Sash design has been chosen and its anything like any of the fan designs on here I would be disappointed. I am aware most on here like the idea now but for me there just isn't enough Red to go with the white. I hope the final design ends up being a pleasant surprise but right now I am just not feeling the Sash design not sure I ever will. I suppose the main thing is most of the fan base like it and most importantly the players enjoy wearing the final design.

Seems everybody has gone sash crazy on this thread. Are there any out there who like me still would like to see a more traditional red and white stripes kit? Despite some pretty good designs on here using the sash I am just not feeling the love for the sash kit.

You forgot "They're gonna get away with it"... cheating Skates!!!

Sky Sports News have just said Andronikou is after Steve Cotterill for the vacant managers job at Portsmouth. How can they afford to appoint anyone with all the current uncertainty and lack of any real money? Surely this is a joke?

It looks like today is another non news day concerning Saints....I thought we would have heard something now........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

edit Well if that is all who is leaving they aren't going to make much in player sales or save much reducing the wage bill. I think Peter Storrie LIVES in a different world inside his own head. I wonder what the pompey fans think of this wisdom and him remaining at the club in this consultancy role?
-
I can't believe after all the damage Story teller has down to Pompey and he is still there. All be it in an consultants role. Don't get me wrong as a saints fan I am glad he is still there as it looks like he is intending to damage them even further if his last statement from the BBC site is true. "Storrie also denied that Grant's departure would be followed by the sale of much of the first-team squad. "It is not so many as people think. Probably about three or four," he said when asked how many players might leave." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8696013.stm Well if that is all who is leaving they aren't going to make much in player sales or save much reducing the wage bill.
