I understood him better when he spoke Spanish, he sounds a bit like Borat near the end

For all the stick Les Reed gets by some, I have to say that he seemed to talk a lot of sense and he sounded very genuine. As others have said I hope Les does the talking on football matters from now on... that said if we appoint Steve Bruce I will never take anything he says seriously again

Yikes!!!, I hope thats just paper talk. I would be very unhappy with Bruce.

Managerial stability and Saints don't seem to mix, saying that most clubs seem to change their manager after a few years at the most these days. I agree though, more than anything I really would love to see us appoint a decent manager who actually wants to be here and wants to stick around. If Cortese had left before Adkins was unfairly sacked I reckon we could of had that with him, but we can't change the past and I've finally learnt to let that one go and accept it would be crazy to go back now. Ranieri might be a proven manager but surely wouldn't be a long term appointment. 2 years at best. I wonder how long Koeman would stick around if he was appointed and had a good season? Not long would be my guess. The question is, Are there any potential managerial candidates out there, who could come and do a good job, and then actually want to stick around long term?

It seems like they made the lazy decision. They obviously could not be bothered to spend any time designing a few decent arenas for battle mode. I would like to think they could quickly make 4 arenas based on the original battle arenas from the SNES game. Then make the available as some DLC. I doubt they will though. So you are a games tester then Kelv?

I bought a Wii U for my kids at christmas, but I admit I love playing on it too. I've always loved the Mario games and now so do they. They are very creative games that encourage the imagination. Mario Kart was a must and when it came out last week I bought it for the Kids straight away Its shame Nintendo messed up the battle mode by not having proper battle arenas on it but the racing on the game is near perfect.

LOL, great post, ok I'll bite... congratulations on your very outdated stereotype of ALL Sci Fi fans. Science Fiction has crept on to a lot of the main TV channels today. Mainly because there is obviously a demand for it. Also the quality of the story telling and production of the programmes with a Sci Fi themes are high. Sci Fi is pretty much main stream these days, so the idea that ALL Sci Fi fans are nerds and geeks is laughable. But if we are doing stereotypes, I usually consider people who dislike ALL Sci Fi dull and majorly lacking in imagination. You're probably a EastEnders or Coronation fan aren't you? Or worse Still an X Factor or Big Brother fan? Now that in my opinion is dull TV. Soaps and reality TV doesn't really require engaging your brain while watching. So, IF I was stereotyping, then I would say ALL the people who watch those shows are brain dead. Now that was only if I was stereotyping. Which I am not going to do here, right now. Mind you if we all liked the same thing the world would be a boring place, so each to their own...Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations.

How about a saints web poll on who should be the next saints manager? Or is Koeman everyone's first choice on here?

I don't include Rickie as pampered prima donna, just the rest of them! I have mixed emotions seeing him play for England, but my overall feeling is sadness right now. Rickie has been my favourite Saints player since Matt. I hate Brendan Rodgers for buying Rickie (probably) just to sit him on the bench. He would have played a much larger role for us next season and been far more important to us then he will for them. I see Rodgers buying him as spiteful. He knew he would jump at the chance to sign for them and at the same time unsettle us. Taking our key player that inspired the players and fans alike, and more than likely increase the chances of getting Adam. If Rodgers doesn't give Lambert a fair chance to play, I'll be very annoyed indeed. If he only plays as a bit part player for a season and then get sold cheap to West Ham, I'll be very ******ed off. I hope for Rickie's career that I am wrong and he fulfils his dream and becomes Liverpool legend but I don't see that happening. I know Rickie has proven many people wrong about him in the past, so for his sake, I hope he does again!
-
Me too. I am not sure I can even bare to watch it now. This world cup was going to be the first time in years I had someone to cheer on, a player I actually cared about. Now, although part of me still wants to see him to do well, I don't really give a toss about the England team. As far as I am concerned its just another typical England team full of pampered prima donnas and overpaid gimps again.
-
lol yeah, I mean how did this old man lump of a player ever make the England team, they should have taken Carroll instead

Its just greed though isn't it!? I am sure he and his family are very comfortable with what he is currently earning. I mean he has probably earn't more than most people will earn in their life time already. Any potential doubling of wages is just going to make him another very wealthy, over paid footballer with more money than sense

It seems pretty clear that the players are in the dark concerning the boards intentions for the club's future. So what the hell have this new board been doing since they took over? They have had months to get to know the players and sort out contracts. Just what they the hell are they playing at? Its all very well appointing a manager and hope they will sell the players a dream but if they, the board, don't take responsibility with the players and Sell them a vision what difference will any manager make? If the incoming manager gets the same silent treatment this could end up being a even worse mess. Even if this is asset striping as other have suggested surely it would make more sense to sell the club while its a premier league team and get maximum return for Marcus's investment. The way things are going next season we will be a championship club and soon after, League One again. I don't understand why they haven't even bothered to let the players know anything in all the time they have been here. Surely they now must be aware of all the players reporting they are unhappy to the press? Adam Blackmore's tweets seem to suggest the players are constantly making comments to him about how very unhappy they now are. Even if they do have nefarious intentions, Shouldn't the board have enough about them to control the players and stop them blabbing about their lack of direction for the club? Even if it was just to cover up their short comings and save their own face. But they don't even seem to be able to even do that! Just goes to show how out if their depth they really are. I would not have believed all the good work thats been done in the last 5 years could potentially be destroyed so quickly, but it looks a real possibility that its just about to be wiped out by a summers work from our current board.
-
The press will not be happy until we are firmly put back in our place...where they see us, a small fry feeder club in the lower tiers of English football. we aren't allowed to have good players because we are the unpopular Southampton. We aren't a London club and we aren't one of the "big" clubs. I can just see them all now high fiving each other with each and every rumour that edges nearer the truth.
-
Tell them to Fu@k off and then what? Will they really move on? If so and they really do go away, then you can guarantee the press will just start the Lallana to Spurs for 30 million rumours!
-
hmm... I like Davis, he is a great player for us but I wasn't convinced by his penalty against Barnsley earlier in the season. [video=youtube;8vA9hX-9rGQ] With Lambert you just knew it was going in when he stepped up.
-
Another important question has just come to mind. Who in the current squad, will take our penalties now? Or should I rephrase that to, which current player, that is going to still be a Saints player come August will take our penalties? Now Rickie has gone, We have to go back to being worried about the potential of a missing penalties again
-
Yeah I definitely don't want an over priced prima donnas like Osvaldo again. That felt a bad fit for Saints right from the off. What made Rickie so special was because he was an honest, hard working player who was able to fulfil his potential and beyond playing for us. I just don't think we can unearth another gem like that again. We paid 4 million for Emmanuel Mayuka, so if he was worth that surely Rickie is worth much more, despite his age!? Liverpool have got a bargain and I get the feeling they aren't that bothered about him and will be a wasted talent there. If we put an offer in for Jordan Rhodes, Blackburn would want 9 million, and he isn't proven in the premiership. Nor has he played for England. I feel we have been majorly ripped off for our fee for Lambert. Talking of Jordan Rhodes Would he be a good enough replacement? I haven't really followed his progress this year.
-
I don't begrudge him the chance to play for his boyhood team and to end his career there but seeing Rickie go has upset me more than losing Lallana and Shaw will do. Rickie Lambert was the heart and soul of the clubs revival. More than any other player I'm gutted to see him go. What really annoys me is he will probably only be a bit part player at Liverpool next year but for us he would have been a very important player starting many more games in a Saints shirt than he will a Liverpool one. He won't get the chances to score from set pieces there either like he does here. Gerrard will be taking the penalties and free kicks. I do wish him luck though, he has been my favourite player since Matt. I just can't believe we sold him off so cheap. Who else will we bring in for 4 million that will offer us what he did?
-
Who can we bring in as a replacement for Lambert with the measly 4 million we have accepted as a transfer fee?
-
I haven't really been that bothered about watching an England game since the late 90'es. Since Lambert got in the England team, I start to regain an interest for obvious reasons. Now Rickie has gone and the Adam and Luke are nailed on to leave, I really couldn't give a toss about England. I'm more concerned about what going to happen to Saints right now.
-
My thoughts exactly! I hope they aren't stupid enough to actually appoint this guy.

Former Brighton manager Oscar Garcia among early list of candidates to replace Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/11243996.Ex_Brighton_boss_on_Saints_radar/?ref=dis I really hope there is no truth in this!

Adkins leaving was the biggest kicker for me. I never been fully convinced by Pochettino, obviously result wise he has been great. I just mean, I wasn't convinced by what his motives for being here were. Since January though, when he could have walked, he started to gain my respect and win me over. If he goes I'll be disappointed. It's a shame. He has the chance to build on his reputation here and has a group of players who seemingly have a deep respect for him. But if he really wants to go then there is no point him being here any longer. If his heart is no longer going to be in managing Saints, Keeping him here against his will, would be worse than losing him. Good luck to him but I'd be surprised if he last the whole of next season at Spurs. They will have bigger expectations then us and he'll soon find in hindsight he was crazy to leave. I would say I hope he proves me wrong but in this case I really don't! It is his mistake to make
