It was never a penatly was it!? I said it before but I will say it again, I felt it was almost pointless to give the penalty. The resason being it wasn't a clear shout and it was virtually the last kick of the match. Plus the goal would not and did not have time to change the result of the game. I think the linesman may have given it out of sympathy because he mistakenly felt he should have given the earlier penalty appeal, which also wasn't a penalty.

He can only get better. He did create a few nervous moments for me while watching but also made some good defensive clearances. Should maybe have scored the header from AL cross but was very unfortunate to have the penalty given for handball. I have to agree with St_Tel49 though, if we stick with him we will have a excellent centre back in our team..

Saints 3 - 1 Leeds, Post Match Celebration
Saint J 77 replied to Cascadia Saint's topic in The Saints
I thought the same. I voted for him too. It was a great all around team performance, but I still feel there is a lot more to come from this team. Nigel said so himself it wasn't a perfect team performace, so he knows there is more to come from this team. It was never a penatly for Leeds though, It was almost pointless to give it given it was virtually the last kick of the match. I felt like the linesman may have given it out of sympathy maybe thinking he should have given the earlier penalty appeal (which also wasnt a pen). -
Can't believe we still are unable to beat Yeovil even with tbe pressure off. I know its only a friendly but still thought we would win this one

Agreed, sounds like there is a lot to be hopeful about this season!

Lambert header!!! Get in!!!!!

Stubborn cox!

Don't be so quick to lable a group of people one thing just because of an individual's actions. The Norway attacker is now being described as a 'Christian fundamentalist' with anti-Islam feelings and links to Neo nazis! He is definitely not what I would call a Christian with proper Christian beliefs!

ok ignore my last post question answered. I'm hoping he is as good as they say. If so he sounds a very good signing!
-
Someone on Facebook said he has got the number 11 shirt if that is true surely ox has gone. Obviously that's just a rumour but does anyone know what squad number he has been given?
-
So no new players for Saturday then? Or will we make a last minute swoop tomorrow?
-
While I am pleased he has signed he doesn't look that happy about it in the photo does he?
-
I blame his dad Mark. I think he has been unsettling him. I honestly believe he would be happy to spend another season here developing. But I with all his dads talk of Arsenal being the best place for his development now its turned his head. His dad is shamelessly pimping out his son for his pension. He must know he'll only be a reserve player there were as he'll be first on the team sheet here. All the rubbish scare tactics he has put in his head about getting an injury in the championship could well still happen in Arsenal reserves. Gareth Bale is a better player for staying a little longer than Walcott. One full season in the championship didn't do him any harm. I don't get why his Dad bothered getting him into our youth set up, why not just have got him into Arsenal's youth team to begin with? I'm not sure how keeping Ox will work now if he doesn't want to be here any more. Its a shame cause I think he could of had a fantastic season here but now he'll just be another young player for Wenger to groom while rotting in his reserves.

Looks like its only for this season as the OS says its the 2011/2012 kit. So is this the end of having a kit design that last for two season?
-
It looks ok. I think the short sleeve design looks better than the long sleeve version.
-
I was hoping for a couple of new signings showing off the new kit this morning along with Jack Cork. Shame. I wonder if we will sign any one this week now? Two days left to find out, unless we do business on Match day Saturday. Even if its next week now it would be good to get any new signings in before preseason is over but I guess as long as we bring in some quality signings before the window shuts that's better than nothing.

I'm surprised pompey got off so lightly. I see arry got a mention in passing again, no surprises there. Does anyone really buy a club for the love of the game anymore? I hope NC and ML did. I'm choosing to believe they did. Our little mention felt like a pathetic attempt from the media to unsettle our club again.
-
With a alias of Kelly Smunt for his/her name they definitely has a smell of fish about it in more ways than one! Quite an appropriate name for a Pompey fan really isn't it?
-
Yes I did wonder about this too. I can't see us having a press conference for such a low key signing that would be odd. I'd understand the reason for a press conference if we'd just signed Maynard for 4 million but for an unheard of before now non-league player, I just don't think so!
-
I'd go see it. Hopefully Phillip will be able to add a new chapter on promotion to the Premier League in a couple of years time and Herbie will be about to give his reaction
-
They should get him to clean the players boots while he is rotting on the naughty step. He might as well be doing something useful while he is still on the pay role!
-
No this is true but I think it would be interesting to know how different this seasons pre season is to last years. What are the player doing that they did last year and what aren't they doing? Hopefully not jumping off that bridge again that's for sure

Yes I was making a point! Sorry if the wink was too subtle for you. You seem very wound up about this I am not looking to argue with you or purposely wind you up. so I genuinely apologise that it offened you so much and that you felt it to be an immature prank. I don't post on this forum that often but I do get fed up with all the negative stories that get posted on here that do nothing but split the fan base. I hope you can accept my apology because I can't stand the in forum fighting and want no part in it. However I do feel you may have over reacted a little bit. At the end of the day I am a Saints fan who wants the best for our Club, I don't want to waste time arguing with other Saints fans. I cannot respond further as this is my 3 post of the day. So I can only hope you accept my apology and move on. Here is hoping for a great season ahead. -

The clue was in the wink. I was trying to show anyone can say anything and get people to believe it. I can 100% confirm I am NOT in the know nor have I ever been. I just get sick and tired of people worrying over ever little thing that happens at the club these days. I was trying to stop the spread of negativity of these rumours and conjecture. It seems some of our fans just can't stop seeing shadows were there are none. We can't seem to break free of the negativity that was around this club for the past 7 years or so before the take over. It seems ingrained into the fans. Ok so the current set up aren't perfect but its a hell of a lot better than what came before it. It makes me laugh, we just had a good bit of news in Jack Cork signing, Well its great news to me, but what follows it? More rumours and conjecture about a possible falling out in the clubs ranks. It always seem to follow this pattern we have some good news then its followed by some crappy rumour that usually ends up having no truth to it at all, but it manages to do its job by unsettling and spliting the fan base. Who starts these rumours? , I do wonder and have come to the conclusion that its Pompey fans on a wind up. -

I can confirm it was for family reasons, nothing more. Nothing sinister about it. So lets stop all the negativity about this now
