I saw his goals at the weekend. Two great goals and one typical goal poacher finish. He looked sharp. What I'd like to know is does he have the pace we are currently lacking from our forward line?
  4. How do you know? Can't you give us a clue?
  5. Someone on the echo website said "I hope he fails the medical" I have to say I tend to agree. This seems a very odd move. 1 Million for a player with a year left on his contract and a dodgy ankle. This seems like a move with a hint a desperation to it. I rather we didn't sign any cover than sign a potential sick note. There must be better out there? Even the City fans say he isn't anything special. Very odd.
  6. http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/118/1189548p1.html For all you gamers out there. "EA Sports Football Club is an innovative new service where you pledge your allegiance to a team. You create a profile and basically your progress from FIFA forever more will be tracked. You get XP for performing things in the game – playing a match, even putting the disc in the tray… There's one key part of it, which is Support Your Club. What you do is pledge your allegiance to the team you support. I support Leicester City. They're not very good in real life, but they're okay, and I want to say 'I'm a Leicester City fan'. I do that, and everything I do in the game that earns me XP also earns XP for Leicester City. It doesn't matter who I play with. It doesn't matter what game mode I'm playing or anything like that. If I earn a hundred XP in a day, it goes into the Leicester City pot for that day. The total pot of Leicester City points is divided by the number of Leicester City fans, and gives an indication of the skill and dedication of a Leicester City fan. "You can pick any of the teams in the game and say you support them. I'm going to choose Leicester City because it's my club. That might sound like a disadvantage, but it isn't, because I'll still earn the points playing as Barcelona and playing as Real Madrid, so it's an opportunity for you to show how good the fans of the club you support in real life are, rather than what teams you play with in the game. "A week is a season in Support Your Club, and then at the end of the week teams will be promoted and relegated based on the real rules of the league, so if the Leicester City fans are good, we go to the top of the championship, we get promoted into the premier league. Manchester United may have a million fans, but if they only play one day a week and they're rubbish? They'll get relegated, relegated, relegated and you could see a totally different version of reality based on the skill of the fans. "Here's a tip for this part of the game: create a Facebook group. Do something to get yourselves somewhat organized and commit to trying to do it. If someone spots that your team's about to get relegated, then let the other fans know! I think it's going to become quite a story throughout the year." I am sure there will be lots of Man Utd and Chelsea fans bumping up their xp. It will be interesting to see how many Saints supporters play this game and where we end up.
  7. I just hope we can sell Punch. Not another loan just get him out the club for good.
  8. Probably only get 30 seconds, a minute tops if we are lucky. If we do get a minute it will be 30 seconds of interviews after the goal. But I'm still going to watch it.
  9. I was just about to say I seem to remember Arsenal where sniffing around him when we signed him. I thought he was only meant to be here for a season then off to be groomed by Wenger. I wonder what's changed? Great news though, very happy with that
  10. Only my personal opinion from reading between tbe lines. Burnley say they want 6 million plus and then our club statement saying we will not be held to ransom. I hope I am wrong and like Le Goddard says we do make a couple of surprise additions before the deadline. I haven't signed up for the Saints player so I've not seen Adkins interview. But the working behind the scenes comment does sound promising. I do wonder if Jay Rodriguez would want to leave Burnley as he is a local lad and just thought he might be happy to stay on that basis alone. Whatever happens it sure is an interesting time to be a Saints fan isn't it?
  11. I don't think we will be making any big money signings now. I know we have bid a large amount for Billy Sharpe and we have tried to sign Jay Rodriguez but i think its been made clear we aren't prepared to pay over the odds just cause we have money to spend. I doubt we will see any more big money spent in this transfer window. Maybe come January we will make move for one of these strikers if the price becomes more negotiable. I would say for now any potential bid for Jay Rodriguez is dead in the water. I do wonder if he would leave Burnley anyway as he is a local lad and may actually want to stay and play for his home town club? It does look like he was Adkins first choice and i dont think Adkins will rush to sign second best from his list of options, whoever they may be.
  12. The angry voice shouting doesn't sound "farmer" enough to be from the area (joke) Man he wasn't happy though was he? Great video of the goal though.
  13. What an awesome team performance!!! The second half wobble will be looked at I'm sure. I know that period of play will have really annoyed the boss. I am confident our Nige will sort out these little defensive errors and we will get even stronger. I have never in all my years of being a Saints fan felt so confident that we will sort the silly mistakes we make during the match. Normally we repeat them again and again, but with Nige about I really do feel we will cut down on these pulling out our hair moments. I was really pleased for Ricky to get off the Mark in the Championship, two excellent strikes for him. All the goals were class. The Fantastic 5!!!!
  14. Seems a more likely target than JR. It would be great to **** the skates off a little bit more. It would be even sweeter if he scored passed them in the derby matches. Of course this all depends on wether he is actually any good. But still its a nice thought
  15. It was a silly thing to do and could have cost us at the end there. Fortunatley for him the team held strong and kept the 3 points. Hopefully Adkins will give him a good talking to and he will not do anything like that again after his ban is over.
  16. I've heard he has a dodgy Knee. I never knew he had previous injury problems. So prehaps 4-5 million on a player with an on going injury problem is a bit of a gamble. Before I heard about this I was very keen that we sign him now i'm not so sure he is worth the risk.
  17. oh yes he is....oh no he isn't...he's behind you!!!! All these players we could potenially sign has become a bit of a pantomine hasn't it. I would love to see us sign Maynard, but until its confirmed on the OS I will put this one down as very unlikely as it seems far to good to be true.
  18. Here is a bit of Fox action from SKY before he signed for Celtic. Good goal
  19. Yes of course, everytime we concede a bad goal I would like to see the chamberlain money invested in a brand new centre back, each and every time. If not I shall be very upset
  20. Just out of interest what was the attendance against Torquay in the Paint Trophy match? Was it about the same?
  21. I guess that underlines our need for a new centre back. Surely we have a new centre back by the weekend?
  22. No point having a player here who doesn't want to be here. I don't wish him well. Its not like he needs our best wishes. I'm sure his new large weekly wages will make him happy enough as he warms Arsenal's bench. I'll laugh if he gets a serious injury in his first Arsenal reserve match. At least he has probably sorted out his dads pension for the signing on fee alone I expect.
  23. Wenger does seem to like the kids ALOT doesn't he
  24. If I were Mark Chamberlain I'd be more worried about Wenger's apparent obsession with grooming young boys. Instead of allowing my son to sign for him. Rather than any money I'd stand to pocket from any deal made. I guess its all about priorities. He obviously cares more about his own financial gain than his son playing regular first team football. If Mark always wanted his son to play for Arsenal and Alex was always clearly good enough, then why didn't he just get him in to Arsenal's youth team to begin with? Why brother with us at all? Its anoying to think Arsenal can still bully us about with the price. The papers today are saying only 7million up front I'd tell to go f themselves. Why do these players think Wenger is going to improve them so much more than anyone else? I know Arsenal are known for producing young teams playing decent football but its obviously not that great as its not won them anything for some time. Walcott left because he felt he become the next Henry. Is he really anywhere neat that now? So ox is leaving thinking he'll become the next Walcott, well good luck to him but maybe he should be aiming a little higher if the last season for Walcott's so called development is anything to go by.
