  1. With Pre-season now underway there is obviously a lot of focus on the coming season, which is understandable. We have had season ticket prices, the transfer talk and the new kit being released amongst other things. I just thought I'd take a moment to reflect on my favourite moments. My favourite season since the takeover was the 2010/11 season and our promotion from league one. Obviously this season gone, getting promotion to the Premier League is a bigger achievement. But for me there just seemed to be something very special about how we turned about our poor start in league one that year around. How Huddersfield pushed us all the way. How we came back to win against both Brighton and Mk Dons after starring defeat in the face and possibly blowing our promotion chances all together. Also how Nigel Adkins got us playing some great football and looking like a team with a good spirit again. Together as one and winning those last 6 games back to back when the pressure was on. Special mentions go to 2009/10 season, the feeling of finally over coming our points deduction, then the feeling if getting out if the relegation zone. That really felt like we had started to move on from those dark days that at one point looked like they would never end, unless the club did first. I know we have had a few " Look how far we have come" threads but I just thought it would be good to talk about our favourite moments from the past amazing few years before all the seriousness starts again. So what was your favourite promotion or season since the Takeover?
  2. He was a good servant to Blackpool but his legs had gone for championship level. He could give Wrexham a good couple of years though I'm sure. I'll always remember the semi final goal he scored for us against Watford. It was probably his biggest goal for us.
  3. He looks a bit crazy in that photo on the sky sports news story.
  4. That was in the back of my mind too!
  5. But they will continue to do nothing about it!
  6. Nice one, Congratulations Jack!
  7. A good list. I agree those constrains make it difficult to produce good Sci Fi. Films using good science fact to base their stories on aren't always good. Red Planet starring Val kilmer attempted this. Its got some great ideas but doesn't always make for an entertaining film. Its a nice pedestrian paced film and gives us a good view of what it might be like to go on a misson to land on Mars, but it won't hook many people in to watching it. On the whole I enjoyed it but I know a lot of people who did not. Most saying it was too slow moving. Enjoyable Sci Fi stories often break those rules you have mentioned because the film makers know it presents restrictions to their story telling and in the end that can loose the audience. Also point 3 (It is even more unlikely that they will also speak English!) can be explained in both Star Trek and Doctor Who by translation devices. As you probably know. Star Trek explain this with universal translators and Doctor Who has recently explained the Tardis has a translation matrix. So any time you here people speaking english they might not actually be speaking english but for the purpose of the story we hear it that way.
  8. Haha, The trouble for him now is, who would actually want him?
  9. I was just thinking this too. Do we really need another left back?
  10. Don't we know it I can't see us buying him as we are already covered for strikers , thankfully.
  11. So after pompey are liquidated there will be a fans statue outside the new Tesco? What a waste of money!
  12. Watching "The Boat that Rocked" on ITV right now, never seen it before.
  13. I am not sure he would leave BBC. With the BBC he pretty much has a job for life. With BT you just don't know how thats going to turn out. I suppose it comes down to how much BT offer him.
  14. Helping Arsenal develop a youth player, why does that sound familiar?
  15. Kidnapped
  16. Convincing the Russia striker Pavel Pogrebnyak to snub a top-ten club might have more to do with their wealthy Russian owner more than anything else.
  17. It does seem they went for the, so gritty as this sh1t is real feel and its sucked a lot of the humour out of it. Robert Carlyle's character seems to be really intense all the time. I mean I know their situation is dire but I sure he could chill out a little from time to time . Admittedly I don't really know his back story and I have only seen a few of episodes. I see they are under pressure to get get the ship up and running but all the other characters seem to be able relax from time to time.
  18. Its funny, an old Spurs friend claims its their song for the terraces. Apparently they sang it before started singing it. I know its bull, but whatever the truth is and Whatever the Spurs fans claims to the ownership of the Song "Oh When the Saints" (or Spurs, as they sing it) are. They can't change the FACT the original words are "Oh when the SAINTS go marching in" and anything they change it in to will never alter that
  19. I have watched a lot of Stargate too. Again I haven't seen any of the series all the way through due to not having Sky. I watched a lot of SG1 and Atlantis but haven't yet caught much of Universe. I noticed pick tv started to show it, so I have been watching some on there.
  20. Buck Rodgers is pure cheese, but I remember watching it on BBC 2 back when they repeated it. It probably produced one of the most annoying robots in Science Fiction ever Erin Gray was super hot though!
  21. I didn't see "The Peacekeeper Wars" I just heard it had been made. I also didn't see much of the last series.
  22. My cynical side thoughts exactly!
  23. Good lord yes! 242 33.70% Good heavens no! 365 50.84% Is this really all we have to talk about? 111 15.46% Its not all negative then, at this moment in time, at least 242 fans on this forum like it then
  24. I was another who just dropped in and out of Farscape. I did watch a lot of it but never saw how it ended. I know a few years ago it got a mini series called" The Peacekeeper Wars" to finish off the stories of all the main characters properly. There were some great ideas in it. I particularly liked the on going story that involved Scorpius implanting a neural chip into John's head. I loved all he arguments he had with himself and the fact he was always on the verge of losing it and just going crazy.
