I started watching at the start of this series, I've enjoyed what I have seen of it. I too enjoyed Manghan's performance. He was also good in Dirk Gently.

Its a shame he has to miss a big part of the pre-season with the squad. But I guess its an honour for him to be picked. As he says it reflects well not just for him but the club as well.

If we did sign him, would he be the number 1 keeper then?

IF it is true then he deserves to rot in the City reserves. I can't believe these football players who earn in a week what others earn in years and they won't take a small drop in wages to play regular first team football. It highlights the problem with a lot of the young English players today. They no longer play for the love of the game but for the wages. No wonder we have such a rubbish nation team.

One thing I didn't know that the article highlighted for me. "Buttner particularly impressed last season and was named in Holland's provisional 36-man squad for Euro 2012." So if he has a good season with us, he could break into the Netherlands Nation side.

Don't all the Media hate the us? Over the years supporting Saints its always felt that way to me. To be honest I am sure there are a lot of teams who's fans feel this way though.

To be fair he missed a few at Doncaster too. He is not as consistent as Lambert from the spot thats for sure. But as you say to write him off totally as a penalty taker just because of that one miss, would be a little harsh!

Think he will be gone when his contract is up, pretty sure he will not even be in the 25 man squad, but could well be wrong.

I wonder if in hindsight Wayne regrets leaving us now. He might not of lost he girlfriend/wife to the cheating John Terry (allegedly) and he might even of played more regular football. I guess at the end of the day he has earn't a shed load of money but at what cost? He was mean't to be a Saints fan but got tempted by the golden carrot dangled in front of him. The club (or Lowe even) at the time were quick to let him go. Its a shame really. I hope from now on this doesn't happen to our stars of the future.

Sounds about right to me

I think we are ok for central midfielders now. Its funny with this signing and possibly signing Butter we seem to be strengthening it places I thought were already strong. We definitely need a new centre back and goal keeper asap, I am sure they will get them in before the start of the season though. It would just be nice to have the new players in the squad for the start of pre-season.
