  1. What ever happened to him? Did he even see out the whole loan? That to me seemed to be a pointless panic loan but surely the loan of Martin to Palace was a more beneficial move for both clubs?
  2. I wonder if he will be sent back early from Palace? He was sent out for game time, so it benefits no one if he isn't in the team. It might not do his confidence any good short term to be sent home early. But it might be better in the long term if he can get game time elsewhere, even if it is at a lower level.
  3. Has anyone had any feed back from rival fans about our players who are out on loan? Is there a way back in our team for any of them? I was hoping Billy Sharp might have a chance here with us still but from looking at the last Nottingham Forest team sheet he has only been used as a sub so far. Does anyone have friends who are fans of teams our players are on loan to? If so, how do they think those players are getting on?
  4. Does anyone have an update on Tadanari Lee's injury?
  5. Isn't it a saying that you have to be mad to be a goal keeper?
  6. I know the Fifa game play improves each year and that is obviously where they should have the primary focus but I have always wanted more from the rest of the game. I wish the crowd was more interactive and responded more realistically. For example in manager mode if you are doing well higher crowds singing your praises, if you are struggling lower crowds chanting for the manger to go. I'd like them to try and recreate that winning away matches in the last minute feeling. They should have an actual away section of fans cheering, going "mental" as we did when Lambert scored against City away this season. Not last minute, I know but thats the type of crowd reaction I mean by "mental". They have never really been able to captured that big game atmosphere but I would have thought they should be able to do that or something close to it by now. I'd like to see realistic weather conditions that can change durning a match depending on the time of season. Also in manger mode it would be good if they had a realistic setting. So instead of pro, semi pro etc, teams performed mostly according to the quality in the team so you never know how difficult a game is going to be. I know the main thing to get right is the way the game plays and thats how it should be but I'd love to see changes like this made as it would surely make the game feel even more like the real thing if they did. Maybe the current generation of consoles are unable to handle these sort of changes but surely they could give it a go?
  7. Boruc is an excellent signing and its great to have 3 good keepers at the club now. There is now healthy competition for the number 1 spot now and thats how it should be. I still think Kelv has his part to play. If Boruc does become our new number 1 as we all suspect he will, then Davies could become our Paul Jones to Boruc's Antti Niemi. A good solid pro to call on if and when he is needed. Kelvin Davis has been a big character for us and stuck with us through thick and thin so it would be great to think we he still we be a big part of our future in some shape or form.
  8. Somehow they seem to make that costume work better don't they I have a feeling Boruc will turn out to be a very good signing for us. Its a great to have 3 proper keepers now after a few seasons of only having 2 real keepers as well as a certain Tommy Forecast. This signing can only help us and has certainly strengthen us in the goal keeper department.
  9. I've watched the highlights from yesterday a few times now and I just love the sound the net makes from his thunderous drive from the spot. He looked a little nervous stepping up to take it, taking a visable deep breath. He must of known the game was won at that point so I can only assume he was wanting to show he can score penalties at this level and that it was playing on his mind a little. He more than proved he can, his technique is spot on. Pun intended The power and accuracy of that penalty was up there with his best for us. We've been very lucky to have some great penalty takers over the years, Le Tissier being the stand out, I do wonder if Lambert will go on to beat his record as he is certainly capable.
  10. Agreed and it seems Notts County will be a good club for him to become the keeper we all knew he could be.
  11. First win in the premiership since 2005, it's certainly a day to remember and it couldn't have happened without him! Hope he got a front row seat from beyond. Thanks Big man
  12. The Holy Goalie, I am sure Markus would have of approved
  13. Back to back wins would be nice though
  14. Here is the "Night of the Living Trekkies" trailer that was made to promote the book. It doesn't really match the story that closely, but its a bit of fun all the same. [video=youtube;MyO2k-jApng]
  15. I recently read a very geeky story called "Night of the Living Trekkies" Here is a brief run down on the story if you like Star Trek and Zombies stories you may well be interested Jim Pike is a glorified bellhop at the hotel and while he seems to know a lot about Star Trek, his enthusiasm for the franchise isn’t quite what it should be, especially considering that he’s working at the center of a massive Star Trek Con. Jim has seen too much during his tours as a soldier in Afghanistan to take pleasure in such trivial hobbies anymore. Instead of being excited for the convergence of his fellow Trek brethren — including his sister Rayna and her friends — Jim dreads the upcoming onslaught. Unfortunately, the onslaught that does arrive in town turns out to be thousands of flesh-eating zombies! Together with a few survivors, including a booth babe dressed in Slave Leia garb, Jim must fend off the zombies and find a way to live through the ordeal while simultaneously battling his inner demons. Lovers of the zombie genre will definitely breeze through this book, while Star Trek fans will revel in the abundance of in-jokes and shout-outs to their beloved franchise (take note of the chapter titles). There’s also plenty of Star Wars references as well, which was a fun way of combining the two scifi heavyweights in this tale (much like the movie Fanboys did). Night Of The Living Trekkies is a fast-read, and while you might think it’s a typical zombie survival tale of a small group of humans trying not to get eaten, it’s really much more than that. I don’t want to give away anything, but GulfCon is more than meets the eye. Also, even if you’re not a big Trek fan, don’t worry, you can find this adventure enjoyable too. I recommend grabbing a copy for some light, fun reading, especially if you’re looking for a quick zombie and/or sci fi fix.
  16. Although I have nothing constructive to say I feel I must say, I f00king hate Arsenal and this result has made me hate them even more!!!
  17. I watched season 1 to 5 all the way through for the first time last year. I had never really got in to it when it it was on TV. I felt at the time it was trying to muscle in on my beloved Star Trek. My brother in-law is a big fan of B5 and after much discussion he convinced me to watch it and he lent me all 5 seasons. It took me a while, maybe 8 episodes or so but I did eventually find myself hooked and enjoying it. G`Kar is a great character and his journey alone is worth watching all 5 seasons for. I'd actually say he is a sci fi great and is developed very well through out the 5 seasons. In the first season I found myself liking the character Commander Sinclair even if his acting is a little bit wooden at times. Don't get too attached to him though as he leaves after season 1. Although he does come back for a couple of episodes later on. I read the actors didn't get on with him as he was a bit strange on set and refused to work with him again and thats why they wrote him out. Apparently he had a drugs problem. Sad if true. Still I was pleasantly surprised by Babylon 5. I found it actually did deserve all the hype it had received by some of my fellow sci fi fans and it could peacefully co-exist with my beloved Star Trek without stepping on its stars I hope you enjoy it!
  18. I was thinking exactly the same. His loyalty has been repaid, really pleased for him! When was the last time we actually had a saints player who wasn't just about to leave in the England team?
  19. I don't mind it as a one off kit. I just hope we return to stripes next year, or at least a kit with a bit more white in it. I know this is very unlikely but ff we won the FA cup in it, it would become the must have retro Kit in years to come though
  20. I think you have answered your own question and I agree! If he continues to score goals at this level, it can't be long before he is given a game at international level. He certainly deserves a chance I think.
  21. Last years start was something special, I haven't seen a start like that in all my years supporting Saints. As long as the table come the end of the year looks much better, then I suppose thats all the matters
  22. I really hope we can get something out of this. Although its really early days, I don't like looking at the table at the moment
  23. Anyway isn't it time they kissed and made up? What is the real beef anyway?
