  1. His leaving Bournemouth when he did worked in our favour. I'm not sure we would have caught Bournemouth if he had stayed. I guess we will never know for sure what could of happened if he stayed that season. I think though going back isn't such a wise decision. I'm not sure lighting will strike twice for him there, but its certainly an interesting decision and one i will take an interest in seeing how it develops.
  2. Thanks for the feed back. I do wonder if he will be put in for the west ham game, but I agree with you that Gazza should carry on in goal for now.
  3. Does anyone know how Boruc has been getting on in his last two games for the development squad? I've seen the results, a 1 nil defeat and a 3 all draw but I haven't yet heard any feedback good or bad to how he has been performing. Is he still a long way off the pace or is he close to full match fitness/sharpness . Is he ready to be called upon for the first team if he is needed?
  4. I think he is getting better with each game, gaining confidence all the time.
  5. No way, but bring in a decent defensive coach!
  6. We should bring in decent defensive coach, it could be as good as a new signing if they get it right? BBC Sport ‏@BBCSport Great stat this: Southampton have now dropped 11 points from winning positions in the PL this season, the most in the division by far (Opta)
  7. Ok thanks, that doesn't sound good
  8. This is exactly the sort of rumour we don't need right now. It would be good to have some clarification from official sources saying it was not true. But even that might not be enough to put our minds at rest. Is it the "Dark forces" at work again? Or our we really headed in the wrong direction again? As a fan, I want to know the truth for the good of the club. I just hope that those who are digging up the dirt are doing it for the good of the club and not to destabilise it.
  9. Out of interest, why did you think this would happen?
  10. cheat skates get another 3 points
  11. I see Barnard has scored for Bournemouth tonight, despite the goal they are still currently losing 3-1 to Crawley though!
  12. I was on my Honeymoon in Jamaica at the time, so I have never seen the goals.
  13. It has to happen! The two teams I really hate a lot Arsenal and Everton always seem to stuff us on their home turf
  14. Lawro thinks we are going to lose 2-0 on the BBC predictions. He says "In the Championship, Southampton probably felt they could go away and win at most places but I think they will learn very quickly that things are different in the top flight, especially when they travel to places like Goodison where they have to play the crowd as well as the team." So he still thinks we have more lessons to be taught about the premiership even after our thrashing Arsenal I have feeling we could sneak a surprise win but I thought we were going to do that at Arsenal so I may well be completely wrong! So any result that involves us taking a least a point will be pleasing. Just hope Mark Lawrenson is completely wrong about us being taught another harsh lesson.
  15. I have to agree that is one very crap piece of photoshop work by their graphics studio.
  16. Red Dwarf x now only a week away, I'm really looking forward to it. I hope it doesn't disappoint.
  17. Does Boruc have international clearance to play yet?
  18. What did he say?
  19. What bad luck!
  20. I think they will get revenge for our win up there last season. I'll be surprised if we beat them.I guess it depends which team we put out on the night. If we put out the our second team we will definitely lose.
  21. Should we loan out Jay Rodriguez? I know the thought of loaning out a record signing so soon may seem complete and utter madness but he needs games to get his match sharpness. Will he get that here? At the moment it seems unlikely, apart from the odd cup match. Perhaps if we did loan him out, Burnley would be the most sensible place. They would probably take him back in a heart beat. Maybe a loan until January to see how he is getting on. Probably not ideal as he might decide he wants to return permanently if he goes back and it works out. But maybe that is what's best for his development right now. I do wonder what he really feels about the move so far. It's great he scored last night and I hope he is a success here but thinking about the Martin situation at palace and how frustrating it must be for him and his development as a player, I feel the same for J Rod here. So for those who have seen him play so far, or even going on his performance last night, what do you think? What is best for his development as a player? To stay here and fight for his place or go on loan and get match sharpness? Does anyone think he is close to being a first team regular here? So what is actually best J Rod the players development? it might be that it is not what's best for Southampton football club by keeping hold of him right now.
  22. We should recall him then and loan him out elsewhere, even if he was playing for our u21 development team it would be better for him. He needs first team football otherwise he isn't going to get any better. Bournemouth on loan would be a good move for him maybe?
  23. Was it a bad penalty or just a good save?
  24. I wonder if Mayuka might play tonight? He has certainly looked very quick. It's funny though I remember the os article when sharp signed saying finally we had got our player with pace, but I always thought sharp was never that much of a speedster. He did have an excellent eye for goal though. I thought he could of bagged us a few or more goals this season but I guess the recruitment team have had other ideas about what we need.
