  1. True, but footballers say all sorts of crap publicly.
  2. Wilfried Bony would be the marquee striker signing from the 'proven' list above. Imagine Swansea would command quite a hefty fee for him as well.
  3. Good player and pretty young. If the club work the same treatment on him as they did with J-Rod he'll be golden.
  4. No issue him going for the crazy sums being touted around if it means we can keep Lallana and strengthen the squad as a whole.
  5. Yeah same. Can imagine the club are just scrapping around to find a close enough replacement opposition to save face on this 'marquee' fixture.
  6. Just finished 3 years at UKC down in Canterbury. Top 20 uni (by most leagues) these days and has a nice campus. Canterbury itself offers most of what anyone would want really, plenty of pubs, restaurants, clothes shops etc. Clubbing-wise it's not brilliant but that's about the only negative. As people have said, easy to London and a little over 2 hours back to Southampton by car. Great uni for sport, pretty much anything you want to try your hand at and well established teams and leagues particularly for football, rugby, hockey and tennis. In terms of accommodation I was in a nice flat, en-suite room and that was about 5.2k (2 years ago). Cheapest accommodation back then was 3.5k. Good uni, nice campus, great sports facilities. I would say though that reputation-wise it towers over Canterbury Christchurch at a glance. CCCU is generally 100+ in uni league tables and is based in the middle of the city, so doesn't have the same student campus feel to it. Good uni for teaching courses mainly, but not a whole lot else.
  7. My guess is that this top European away team have bailed on us and we're trying to find replacement opposition. Been too long since the club mentioned it to still not having it confirmed.
  8. Well he's saints through and through, but he did support Everton as a boy and went to a game of theirs not that long ago.
  9. Yeah...I didn't bother to make it up.
  10. Ah it worked! Just kidding, fair enough.
  11. "Thinkin u can sign our captain before the World Cup. which World Cup are Liverpool talking about? 2032? No ****ing chance before or after" He said that and replied to a guy who said he'd put £100 on Lallana to Liverpool. He told him he was going to lose it as Adam was saints through and through.
  12. Haha stumbled across his twitter about 18 months ago and just guessed from what he was saying it was him. I won't post his name or pictures as his account is private. But he was Lallana's PFA awards invitee and there's a picture of them in Portugal 6 days ago.
  13. Guy I follow on twitter with protected tweets. Would take a small jump and say it's theVman.
  14. Well based on his tweets, Lallana's best mate doesn't think he's going anywhere before or after the WC.
  15. Sarcasm and the internet are a no-go.
  16. If Azpilicueta can make the transition from right back to left back seamlessly, even assuredly, at the age of 24 for a team in the Champions League, I don't see why the idea can't be entertained for a 19 year old at a lower standard team.
  17. Urgh and the tedious posters like you make this place dull as **** at times.
  18. I'm saying he has the potential to be. Does a cracking job at right back and has previously been put at left back when Shaw was substituted. He's 19 and its not like playing left or right sided full back is a transition like goalkeeper to striker. He plays right back, he could, in the future, play similarly well at left back in my opinion. Have you managed to understand this, fairly straightforward, idea, or is football new to you?
  19. What is it you're finding difficult to come to terms with?
  20. Remember he did about half an hour against Spurs back in December and put in quite a few solid challenges to win the ball back. Imagine it wouldn't be too hard to convert him to LB more regularly.
  21. That means he's effectively on a ton of money more than he currently is and actually has a better chance of regular first team football than he would at Chelsea. For me United have hit their rock bottom, they will come back stronger next year and for the foreseeable future, so joining them would mean Shaw gets a ridiculously high pay day, a better chance of first team matches (than at other top clubs) and a future which really can only be on the up.
  22. Yeah spot on with that. Even Chambers has filled in there a couple of times this season when Shaw's gone off and done a decent job. Like you say, 5-6m and we've got a worthy replacement with over £20m in change for the rest of the squad.
  23. To be fair, I can't see how subsidising this singular game comes to £200k.
  24. Their fans seem to think the team they've just announced is a free passage to the QFs for us.
  25. You mean like how the FA suspended him for 3 games?
