Looking for a bit of advice... I have a friend who is raising money for a very worthwhile childrens charity that has been very supportive for his young daughter during a recent illness. Has anyone got an idea of where he could advertise a Signed Saints shirt for auction that would help to raise the most funds possible? Any thoughts or suggestions would be extremely gratefully received. Many thanks. COYR

"Saints considering Mauricio Pochettino" - Daily Mirror
The Red Bag replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Guillem Balague@GuillemBalague I have been told 2day a great friend of mine will get his dream come true! U will all be talking about it later. What a clever replacement! A quick Google search has found Balague's thoughts on Pochettino: PRAISE FOR POCHETTINO Hi Guillem, How highly do you rate Espanyol boss Mauricio Pochettino? Could he become the next Real Madrid manager? Thanks, David Fullam (Liverpool fan) GUILLEM SAYS: I REALLY rate Pochettino. I know all about the job he does with Espanyol and he goes hand-in-hand with the director of football, Ramon Planes. They are hardworking and very modern in their approach; they base everything on possession and pressure high up the pitch. It's the kind of football that you like to see at a big club and I see Pochettino going to a Sevilla or a Valencia and we will definitely see him at Real Madrid at some point. Not yet, though, because he's doing a great job with Espanyol and I hopes he stays for a long time at our club I'm afraid to say I think this is actually happening. -
Ian Dennis on 5 Live has just said we're trying to get Matthew Upson from Stoke.

Matt Law of the Daily Express has just posted the following on Twitter: 'I'm told oxlade-chamberlain has agreed to join arsenal - only question left is if he moves this month or in the summer. Rejected liverpool'

Maybe we could do something as a tribute for next home game?
The Red Bag replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
An ironic way of reminding fans how grateful we should be to Markus for rescuing our club from its darkest hour. -

How about a plane to fly over the ground with a banner trailing saying 'Thank You Markus. A Saint forever'. If you remember we managed to chip in and arrange it once before for slightly different reasons. -
can't get to a tv for the match....anyone got a link for the internet?

I'd take Cotterill as our manager any day of the week. I feel he's been waiting for this job ever since he left Burnley. Watching on the Big League Weekend on Sky, where he's a regular guest, I find him to be very knowledgeable of the lower leagues which will be an essential asset for any manager that wants to be successful in League One.

To every single one of you that invaded the pitch. I think you're an absolute disgrace. You make me sick. Why run on? What were we celebrating? I could totally understand it last year but why did you all seem so happy? What the hell where you thinking, Paul Wotton was badly injured and needed medical attention but you crowded around him like a bunch of lunatics. To make matters even worse I witnessed several 'fans', and I use that term very lightly, stealing 'memorabilia' from the ground, i.e, Southampton FC advertising hoardings, even a stool used by the stewards to sit on. What the hell is wrong with you? Thanks to you we didn't get a chance to say thank you to those that deserved it. The club is dying. Totally on its knees and you drag its name further into the mud.

Spin. Nonsense. Spin.

Can anyone confirm where the Academy home games are played? Is it Staplewood? Can you just turn up and watch? Thinking of watching them v Arsenal on Sat

Why protest AFTER the game? By that time most people are too cold / P****d off / don't think they'll bother because we got a decent result (not likely) / need to get home etc. This often results in a half hearted protest by what L*we would call the 'lunatic fringe'. A protest before kick off would make it intimidating for all L*we's favourite fans (the corporates) when they enter St Marys making it embarrassing for L*we and Wilde (if they're actually there!). It would also mean we're not reacting to another defeat and that it shows our actual feelings in the cold light of day. I don't see why it would affect the players. As soon as we enter the ground we can get behind the lads 100% but it may make it slightly more uncomfortable for those who are to blame. It needs to be organised. Banners. Times. Etc.

No he won't. He has too much money at stake. He's too thick skinned. Too arrogant. He won't go with just a few hundred or even thousand people chanting obsenities at him in or outside the ground. You want him out? Make it nasty. Make him fear for his safety everytime he walks out his front door. Not nice but its getting desperate.
