  1. Agree, can’t remember seeing us completely dominate a top team away like that in the 1st half. Think we all were thinking we’d run out of steam and blow it in the 2nd. But what a comeback after a dreadful decision for the 2nd, looked like a foul, but regardless ref had to stop it for the head injury. Sharing that with my boys tonight will live long in the memory. Oh when the SAINTS go marching in….
  2. Agree, has been decent this season. The Itchen corner make a great noise, if we could combine that with the Northam think we'd make a proper din.
  3. Yep, was sung a fair bit, standard song that most away supporters sing surely? Equal number if not more OWTS (obviously), COYRs, Pompey get battered…., a proper witty ditty about the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy (my favourite) and loads of others. There may have also been some inappropriate language directed in the direction of a certain Mason Mount when he was warming up in front of us. Fair play to him, he seemed to enjoy it. Ultimately I thought the support was excellent, pretty much non-stop. Everything an away game should be. Class!
  4. Apart from a couple of brief penalty moments, loved every minute last night. So good to be at a game again, especially away, everything about it was fantastic, the walk to the ground, the singing in the concourse, the non-stop support during the game. At half time we were praying for a goal down our end, and what a moment of sweet bedlam when it happened. We came away at the end and both my lads said (with very hoarse throats) although it was a shame we went out that way, they weren't disappointed, like me, they just enjoyed it.
  5. Anyone know a good place to park? Was thinking maybe Hammersmith and walking from there?
  6. Yes, candidate for miss of the century, but been in great form recently and apart from the miss had a good first half. Can’t see him going anywhere which is fine by me.
  7. Yep, agree with this too, always baffles me why we, and most other teams, pull everyone back. Also, not a big McCarthy fan, but think he was a bit unlucky with the goal, clean strike and he probably saves it. Also thought the save he made early on from the Matic header was crucial. Ok, should save those, but they are easy to spill and I think if we conceded early could easily have folded.
  8. Appreciate he's only got a year left, but £6M seems low. Obviously injury prone and hasn't been consistent, but he's young and has shown glimpses that he could be decent. I'd rather we kept him, extend his contract and loan him out to someone like Reading to get some regular game time and bang in some goals in the Championship.
  9. https://saintsmarching.com/2021/07/27/player-sends-chelsea-goodbye-message-ahead-southampton-transfer/ Hopefully confirmed soon. Oops, already posted above, still hopefully hear something soon.
  10. Not a lot of use though unless he's worked out how to defend. Let's hope so...
  11. https://talksport.com/football/913913/danny-ings-transfer-news-tottenham-man-utd-man-city-southampton/ Nice dig at Spurs Alex.
  12. One horse race? Report: Norwich leave Southampton free to strike deal worth £15m-plus; Saints now favourites (hitc.com)
  13. I like it.
  14. Being an ex grumpy left-back myself, always had a lot of time for Berty. I for one will miss him, been a great servant and don't begrudge him going for one last big contract, good luck to him.
  15. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.hampshirelive.news/sport/football/football-news/southampton-fans-noticed-what-accringtons-5393147.amp Priceless.
  16. Thought we did ok, if we had a decent striker on the pitch could have got something. But all a bit meh now, roll on some summer signings and next season.
  17. Agree, decent first half. BUT can we turn up for the 2nd half for a change?
  18. Fantastic result in the end. Some fight and spirit, that's more like it. But red cards for winning tackles, penalties seemingly every time it goes near an arm, VAR pointless. The game is gone.
  19. Once again, would have liked to have seen Jankewitz given another chance. Don't mind Redmond starting, bit surprised no Salisu at LB.
  20. Perfect opportunity to play Jankewitz, Ralph obviously has no faith in him. Shame, would have liked to have seen what he can do.
  21. Well that was a much more entertaining half than I was expecting.
  22. But he was excellent in the last game, will be fresh, and is widely thought to be a confidence player, so would be crazy to drop him.
  23. Nice to be able to say Redmond MOTM. And obviously sweet to easily beat Boscombe at their place. Happy days.
  24. My nipper said Forster failed a fitness test, according to the interweb.
  25. Can only assume he wants Tella raring to go against Brighton. Agree about Forster, that's a strange one unless he doesn't want his confidence knocked! Like you would rather see Ramsay right back, and if fit give Jankewitz another go - he likes Manchester!
