  1. Don’t disagree, but not sure we have any other options until we get players in and Smallbone is back.
  2. Would have agreed with this post before Saturday. Was expecting the same old slow death march as you put it, but much to my surprise, they’ve speeded it up from the start, much better. Thought it got the crowd going and drowned out the Norwich fans. It’s a yes from me.
  3. Didn’t think I’d be saying this, but I think losing Smallbone would be a big deal. Watched him against Reading, Wednesday and yesterday and was MOTM in all 3 imo. He’s been a revelation, seems to always be available for a pass, very calm under pressure, uses it well, tackles, and has been the heartbeat of the team, in those games at least. Fits the new style of play perfectly, would imagine RM would want to keep him so hopefully he stays. The only thing more concerning for me than our woeful defending yesterday was him limping off. Yes, he could be replaced, but would we get anyone better, no guarantees. As for Grimes, gets mentioned a lot on here, but haven’t seen anything linking us to him. Re Alcaraz, like him too, but don’t think he’s consistent enough. I was very much in the thought he had a poor game camp yesterday, though got going in the last 15 mins.
  4. Get what you’re saying re the strikers, but I just think Martin prefers AA and fits his style. More mobile and links up the play better. Also looks like Che is off so not sure he’s 100% focussed. From what I’ve seen not sure Charles is ready, prefer the safer hands of Stu and also gives us a bit more driving forward from midfield. COYS.
  5. Think we’ll start with the same team as last Friday, with Stu coming in for JWP (😢). If we play as well as we did against Wednesday, and I don’t see why we shouldn’t, we should get a result tomorrow. Boss the possession and hopefully create a few more chances. Really enjoyed it last week, great away day and can’t remember the last time we scored and then went straight on the attack again. And the way we dealt with the 9 mins of added time was incredible. Appreciate Norwich should be better, but a full house at home will hopefully help us. Just hope the home faithful are patient with our patient build up and don’t get on the players backs if it’s still 0-0 after 10 minutes. Can see myself having an argument with some of the get it forward brigade tomorrow, but let’s hope not…
  6. Anyone know if the ticket office will swap (online) tickets to the block 43 seats?
  7. Looks like Ipswich may be the 3rd.
  8. Well that was fun! Agree with all the positives on here, was also great to see us stay on the front foot after we scored for a change. Was crucial to get off to a good start. Fair play to Wednesday, they make a noise, can’t remember anything that loud at the start for a while. But by not giving them a kick and scoring early kept them relatively quiet. Should have created a few more chances with all the domination we had, but no doubt this is what they will work on. Considering where we were, we’ve come a hell of a long way in such a short time. It’s clear how we’re trying to play and at times it was sublime. Best away performance I’ve seen in a long time. Away from home we’ll have the freedom to play how Martin wants us to, I just hope everyone buys into it at St Mary’s. We’re not the most patient of fans, and there are plenty of Kermit’s out there who’ll be shouting “get it forward” if it’s still 0-0 after 10 minutes. Anyway, was well worth getting home at 02:30 for!
  9. This, except I think it will be AA for Adams.
  10. What happened to “Surely, we’ll win this one”?
  11. Hang on, I thought the Skates were the best supported team in the land? 🤔
  12. Surely when we sell a player our contract with them is terminated, not paid off, they then have a new one with their new club. Unless we’re forcing them to go I suppose.
  13. Their site reckons about 27k tickets sold in total. Should be a cracking atmosphere.
  14. Booked a space on someone’s drive with Justpark, 20 mins walk, hopefully it works out.
  15. Not heard any ABK rumours recently, maybe he stays? Would be happy with that. Would just need one then if we assume Jack and Bednarek are staying and Lyanco is (hopefully) off.
  16. Linked with Adams to Everton 😫 https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/everton-transfer-news-live-adams-27432575#3323988
  17. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/23268793/man-utd-liverpool-transfer-romeo-lavia-chelsea-southampton-amrabat/amp/ https://www.thechelseachronicle.com/transfer-news/chelsea-in-talks-to-sign-two-players-from-the-same-club-one-will-cost-50m/ 3 way fight for Lavia would be nice. Not sure about Chelsea wanting Tino too. But would certainly give us some cash to spend.
  18. Trash talk.
  19. Bazunu KWP* Stephens Charles** Manning Smallbone JWP*** Alcaraz Tella Edozie Armstrong *KWP if Tino is either likely to be sold / injured ** If Bednarek not fit *** If JWP off then Charles instead, Bednarek or Lyanco CB
  20. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/southampton-take-interest-in-west-brom-player/ Strange one if true, surely can’t be looking for another backup, got enough of these already!
  21. Let’s hope this goes through, brilliant if so.
  22. Well at least some Hammers are embarrassed. https://www.hammers.news/transfer-news/west-ham-have-just-made-an-insulting-bid-for-james-ward-prowse/
  23. Personally don’t think we’ve seen enough from Sulemana to say he’d be one of the best in the league. He should be, and I hope we keep him (and Tella) but also think Edozie can be a regular, looked a player when he joined, lost his way a bit, through combination of limited game time and that miss against Lincoln seemed to knock his confidence. But has looked sharp in preseason and has all the attributes. Ideal world we keep them all, I’m sure the club would rather not sell, but question is do they (Tella and Sulemana) want to stay?
