Talking about someone who is a waste of time Manji....
-
That's right, of course; stupid me...there I was thinking we live in a democracy where anyone is entitled to criticise whoever they like; when in fact we live in a world where we should just be grateful the 'clever' poeple are in charge and us morons just do what we're told. Fans may not always be right but that doesn't mean they don't have the right to criticise when they believe the product they buy is faulty...and as for running a professional business!!!! Lowe, Cowan, Hone, Oldknow...wouldn't trust them to make a success out of sell water in the desert....but as others have already posted...I was once associated with the Saints Trust so my view isn't actually valid...unlike the clever people who didn't join and therefore are automatically better and more intelligent.
-
Sadly you are more right than you know. I once had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with Oldknow during my time with the Saints Trust. He treats fans in general with utter contempt, and he attempted to censor our views about how the club was being run. I have since spoken to a range of staff employed by SFC and none of them have a good word to say about him. Oldknow was given responsibility for 'creating open dialogue' with fans but was strangely silent when a 'source' at the club disgracefully attempted to ruin the good name of Dr. Brian Bennett, by leaking to the Echo that his views on the club were not valid because he did not hold a season ticket. Care to let us know who that 'source' was Mr. Oldknow? If Oldknow is the type of individual that our new owner likes it says more about him than it does about Oldknow. Good luck building relationships with the fan base...

Totally agree. Players will want away and Aviva want their money. This is classic fire-sale before winding us up. My best guess is Aviva are getting hacked off with two-bit numpties bidding for our club (MLT not included) and want every penny they can get from our remaining assets i.e the players (there isn't anything else). If Pinnacle don't come up with the goods SFC will be dead by the end of the week. Remember people...Fry represents the CREDITORS...nobody else...he couldn't give a flying f**k if we get liquidated or not.
-
So when people lose their house they are 'cheating.' Hang them all I say, every last disgusting one of the vermin. Of course Hearn has earned all his money honestly.
-
Agree; but it also depends on the players available to them; I know Dyer is no loss in a football sense but the fire sale is still to come to satisfy NU before they right off what's left of the stadium debt (or mortgage the remainder to the buyers); McGoldrick, Surman and others are likely to go so we'll need an remarkable manager to turn things around; and Division 1 isn't likely to attract remarkable managers.

We got relegated from the Prem due to mismanagement. We couldn't get back up due to mismanagement. We invested in youth and rejected experience due to idiots being in charge. SLH folded due to mismanagement and idiots being in charge. We appointed an idiot as administrator and he doesn't know what to do. Any surprise that the only people interested in buying the carcass are consortia who can just about squeeze a few million together if they raid their piggy banks? Even if they do find a low rent group prepared to give it a go, watch the arguments ensue about '"I put in more than your share" as we speed towards League 2. You make a really good point about the city of Southampton suffering from years of political in-fighting and some questionable planning decisions...but buying SFC has nothing to do with that...we are simply not an attractive enough business proposition...and there are plenty of alternatives.

Who cares
-
No they won't...not unless the FL have insurance policies to cover it...We owe Aviva over £20m and Barclays over £5m...we have next to no assets to pay them...Bournemouth will never see that money...just like any other small business that SLH owe money to...that's why you go into administration...to avoid paying your debts. When Leeds went into administration a woman who owned a flower shop went out of business because they owed her £X when they went under and she was right at the end of the queue...administration is a horrible business and we are only at the very beginning of the fall-out.
-
That's an interesting comment Um, because usually an overdraft is considered an 'unsecured debt' and as such, is right down the bottom of the list in terms of pay-back. It sounds as if Barclays may have tied Lowe to some ingenious contract to avoid this scenario; but I'll bet it doesn't make any difference...they will still be behind Aviva in the queue and on the basis there isn't enough money to pay half the amount they are owed, it 'aint getting to Barclays, it 'aint getting to the shareholders or anyone else SLH owed money to. The best option is to hope Aviva take the few million we can scrape together from player sales and agree to do so in exchange for writing the rest off. Nobody is going to take over their debt unless they have more money than sense...and while I am on this topic I can kill off any talk of Staplewood being an asset...Cowan told me it can only be used for very restricted purposes i.e. it can't be developed for housing etc so has no great sell-on value...and as for Jackson's Farm, you can put any price you like on it, the only price that matters is the one somebody is prepared to pay for it; but without planning rights that isn't much.

Wilde and Lowe have just been escorted from the premises

Nick...it was a joke...chill. -
Wilde and Lowe have just been escorted from the premises
John replied to exit2's topic in The Saints
...that's also why they would have been 'asked to leave' the premises...once the administrator is in place, nothing can be touched in terms of spreadsheets, sensitive information etc...just in case they, how can I put it...accidentally lose a few documents on the way out when passing the office shredder. -

Personally I hope a group of shareholders get together and ask the FSA to launch an investigation into Lowe and Wilde's activities over the last few years. If it can be proved that they behaved in a manner not fitting and did not run SLH to the best interest of the shareholders then they could face prosecution. Being a registered director of a PLC comes with serious legal responsibilites...once it goes under you can't always just walk away. It is not the same as runnning a Ltd company, which by it's very description, saves you from any form of legal action should it go under. -
Administration is the ONLY way to break this downward spiral
John replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
The issue is not whether we should; it is what will hapen when we do. The key to keeping Lowe, Wilde, Cowan and their cronies away is through alternative business groups presenting solid plans to the adminsitrator so that they win the right to carry everything forward...and those groups WILL appear...I could write better business plans than Lowe and Wilde, so fear not, have faith...once we go into administration, no adminsitrator is going to allow Lowe or Wilde anywhere near a re-build due to their past history of failure. -

Weston; just ignore Torres; he loves trashing other people's ideas while advocating the 'do nothing' attitude that got us into this mess in the first place. -
Had enough of lowe and his stupid ideas askham come out from behind lowes shadow
John replied to fos1's topic in The Saints
The point is that Lowe was in charge when we were relegated. Lowe was in charge when we sold players and tried to return to the Prem with kids. The point is that he got us into this financial mess and I doubt anyone will now be able to get us out. The methods you suggest are predictable and in summary, mean that we can avoid the immediate threat of administration by flogging the few decent players with a market value. Excuse me for not jumping with joy....and before you ask, I am not going to offer any alternatives...it's too late for that. Administration is inevitable; the only reason we aren't there already is because the two poeple with the most to lose financially i.e. Lowe and Wilde; are in charge...funny that? -
Close to administration by this Christmas...rescued by selling and loaning out players in January who we didn't have time to offload/hadn't proved their value in August...close to administration in May...rescued by selling more players and Lowe's desk tidy...realise we have no players left at the club over the age of 12 and go into administration...one day soon, supporters will realise that results on the pitch no longer matter...no really, they will.
-
According to Poortvilet on the BBC website, the kids were scared of the cameras...God help us if this is all that is left to excuse the shambles that was once our beloved SFC. Oooh...cameras...I'm frightened and I need my mummy...then again he could say that they are allergic to grass...but on the basis that he, Lowe, Wilde and Cowan are going nowhere it don't much matter. Can't wait for the cracking excuse after Burnley...the wrong energy drinks?...Rupert forgot to read them their bedtime story? (mind you, that's enough to give anyone nightmares)...it's never dull.
-
Couldn't agree more Alpine. To be honest, many boards would already have called time...the only reason we haven't is because Lowe & Wilde can't stand the thought of their share investment going down the pan (reasonable enough I suppose)...in a way, they were the banks best option for that very reason...the banks also stand to lose big time once we hit official administration so Lowe & Wilde are seen by them as the one group that would be daft enough to try and put a sticking plaster on a gaping wound...but they all know deep down the game is up...just depends how long they want to keep the patient stable before they switch off the life support.
-
Steve, you forgot: 1) Watch them play pretty patterns in front of us for 15/16/17/18 minutes (insert number as required) while we hold our line 35 yards out, then realise they have no cutting edge and take the game to them knowing their fragile confidence will crack with the first goal conceded.
-
We don't have enough resources to pay off the huge debts that are mounting with each passing week because: a) the gates are too low versus budget b) Lowe and Wilde have failed (yet again) to invest any money c) Even after selling what few players we have left to sell, Davis, maybe Lallana, Surman; it won't be anywhere near enough to do more than keep the wolf from the door for a few months until the inevitable happens. This isn't some brilliant strategy or a *** or bust exercise...it is something our creditors set in place. You don't really believe that Lowe and Wilde are running the agenda do you? The creditors are doing that. Lowe and Wilde were TOLD to get the higher wages off the books...preferably by selling them, loaning out if necessary. It is what any bank would do under the circumstances. Next step; if we haven't increased incomes (which we haven't) then the creditors will demand the sale of players to meet the interest on loans etc etc...there are no other assets left...and once that happens we will be left with a few kids and a few journeymen always injured..and that means relegation, smaller gates and administration.
-
Ironic that. Your Dark Lord Rupert and his chums would know all about organising minority factions to take control eh Scooby? Hurts doesn't it...
-
You miss the point. We're not revelling in the demise of SLH PLC...we just understand that results on the pitch are now totally irrelevant. The business is going under. We're entitled to be a little annoyed. We support the team as we have always done and we want them to win; but we also see the inevitable for what it is. If you choose to live in dreamland good for you...it's probably a nicer place to be at the moment...but it's going to be harder for you when reality bites.

Has anyone worked out yet that you're a wind-up merchant? You must love all the attention.
