  1. I was having problems scrolling as flashdrive was crashing. My IT Technical Assistant, aka grandson, put a good ad blocker on and voila! NB This was the only site on which this was occuring

    Claude Puel

At the very least, Puell's appointmentment has us dodging a bullet here; " Hodgson wants to remain active in football."
  3. If only he could shoot.
  4. That just about sums him up for me too.
  5. I don't think that he's yet up with the Saint's all time greats, but has time to become one if he deigns to stay. What really impresses me is his ability to run at an opponent and just as he's about to be tackled changes pace and direction and suddenly he's five yards in the clear. He does that better than any other I've seen.
  6. Touche.
  7. And if you think baling for more money is good, then as you say... Righto.
  8. Lowe's two inbreds, Koeman, and now some are clamouring for de Boer. Are you slow learners, or perhaps thinking if we try enough Dutchmen we have to get a good one eventually?
  9. In the few games that I saw Nilsson play, I thought he suffered from being behind Febrice Fernandes. One game springs to mind where FF created a huge amount of space on the right forward of centre. into which Nilsson ran unmarked, only for the crop circling routine to start up ensuring time for all avenues of attack to inevitably close. This happened three or four times and I remember thinking how much energy Nilsson expended needlessly thanks to the cock playing jn front of him.
  10. I'm not ITK but have a theory that the French totty from the sports store might be a little too demanding. Or maybe van Puttynose could just be the wrong manager for him. Whatever the reason might be for his definite loss of form I hope he regains it sometime soon as he always put in for Saints.
  11. I'm not sure how to qualify good football, but as for enjoying a game look no further back than Chelsea v Spurs. That game had just about everything I enjoy about football plus a little bit more. Some cracking football, goals, some blood and guts and the end result was quite pleasing.
  12. At 2-0 up I was still concerned that our tempo and general attitude to the game was allowing Villa to gain some encouragement. And so it came to pass. Fortunately, in spite of their growing confidence we were still much the better team. Hopefully this perform- ance can be put down to the unusual atmosphere at the ground as it was a fae from convincing display.
  13. I've been wondering how much Pelle's seeming inability to perform in the depths of winter contributed to the poor runs we had in the past two years? I'm not blaming him alone for the points dropped, perhaps some of the others are too reliant on better weather.
  14. How much does the impending departure of Wanyama and Pelle have on their selection? Do you drop Wanyama for a seemingly keener Romeu and stand to lose a few(?) million off his price tag? The same could apply to Pelle to a lesser extent to the point where the offers are ridiculous. I'm certainly not saying this is in fact the situation but could be a consideration.
  15. I wonder how much the impending departure of certain players has on their continued selection? Cases in point being Wanyama, Pelle and Mane. In the case of Wanyama for instance, do you play Romeu in preference as he is at least giving 100% or do you play Wanyama as if dropped it could drop his transfer fee a huge amount. Is this the same for Pelle, if for a lesser amount? Is either of these points of view realistic?
  16. I was surprised with Leicester's speed of recovery of the ball back from us in possession. Also can't recall too many crosses not being cleared emphatically by them. If we dominated general play for long periods so too then did did their defence completely dominate their own penalty area. All up I thought were a little unlucky with the penalty shouts, but Leicester were good value for their win.

    Van Dijk

    It's all Greek to me.
  18. That was as good a comeback as I've seen from Saints; I do think we were aided a little by L'pool running out of puff towards the end. May I say in passing that I have little or no comprehension of what constitutes a penalty anymore.
  19. I've been reading on here game after game about this kid, that contrary to commentaters, managers and ex players (of some standing) saying what a promising player he is/will be and to date I can't see much to disagree with them about JWP. It seems to me that the view of many who deride his talents appear to me to be disappointed that the young man's talent hasn't instantly blossomed in the way it should have, to become the world class superstar demanded by our demanding fan base. Would I prefer him to have advanced a little more than he has? Yes, of course, but let's not forget his one hundred or so games is a far greater input than Ramires and Osvaldo contributed. I also think he will improve further and contribute even more at far less lost revenue to the club.
  20. I think he has a definite 'thing' about Saints, as he makes reference in his WBA prediction this week that nobody could see our result against WBA coming.
  21. "Shaw apparently aggravated the knee injury he picked up against Real Sociedad, but think he was taken off as more of a precaution." from Post 200 I saw it live on sky and could clearly hear the crunch of bone on bone when he had the collision.
  22. Since when has a defender been allowed to pull a striker over by an arm around the neck? Was blatant and a nailed on penalty. Lambert was also very unlucky. JRodriguez not a Prem. level striker.
  23. That there is even a mild debate about it shows how much the law has changed, or at least the interpretation as both Rodriguez and Lallana were in clearly offside positions by some distance.
  24. Which position would he play? As I really don't think he's a premier league quality striker... yet.
  25. From WBA point of view, one would hope Anelka finds some enthusiasm!
