Bein g a milk vendor doesn't mean your a relative of Benny Hill. Not even if you deliver in Eastleigh.
  2. Premier league minus the top six. Who would buy into the situation in which we find ourselves?
  3. Without actually knowing, I'd hazard a guess and say I.25-1.5 million per annum.

    Fraser Forster

What is the situation re Gazzaniga? Has he improved much out on loan? I know he was not much loved on here but I didn't think he was as poor as many liked to make out. Has there been any firm infocoming to light on his performances in Spain? I ask this as he could be putting in better performances than our current incumbent.
  5. Could be better off having a game of water polo. Schools closed today due to heavy rainfall. Another rather large downpour forecast for today. This is the residue of a rather large cyclone dissipating to the north. When it does rain over there, it really comes down.
  6. I saw the replay last night and that was, (apart from the result ), as good a final game as I have ever seen. Had we had Foster in any semblance of last years form we would have won. Congratulations to Saints for a wonderful display.
  7. I stand corrected about Morgan playing that day.
  8. I was at that game and though it's long ago, I seem to remember Man U playing with two very young wingers Best and Morgan. I wouldn't swear to that being correct ,but have thought that ever since. What I can definitely recall is that Man U had a Bobby Charlton playing and I have never seen him play better, albeit in a deeper role bossing the midfield and endlessly supplying the two young wigers with precision passes all second half. One of the best individual displays I've ever seen at the Dell.
  9. r=Reliable in that he didn't score goals.
  10. The manner in which he was pilloried on here put him at about Forecast's level. I thought he had a fair amount of ability and the loan was a good idea. Glad to see he's having some joy.
  11. That is a big call and I sincerely hope it proves to be correct!
  12. I watched the replay this morning in a very relaxed mood as I knew the result. I was struck by the performance of Liverpool being reminiscent of some of our high possession / losing results that we had under Poch early on. The defence on the whole were absolutely immense with special mention to Jack Stephens, he certainly played beyond his years. Ward Prowse impressed again in the first half and I was sorry to see him off injured. Highlights in defence too many to mention but the run from defence into attack by young Simms has to be worth a mention, especially cutting across the L'pool player running back at him, took him right out of the equation. And by no means least, S Long's extremely well taken goal to finish them off. Wonderful result!
  13. Hard to argue with those points, so yes, strongly agree.
  14. I generally have some degree of interest whenever FF posts, and although not entirely agreeing with him on a few points, I can see a basis of fact running through his opening post. I post infrequently but read, usually with some interest, what the majority have to say. However I must confess to losing interest to a degree. The continual sniping and attempted one upmanship has become boring, in fact extremely so. This has rendered my enjoyment of this site certainly less now than it was in the past

    JWP

My view of this continual slagging off of Ward -Prowse, is that apart from being tedious it is very much, differing opinions, and in some cases blind bigotry. I think he has limited effectiveness against a quick pressuring side as Spurs are, but he played much better against Inter (home and away), so he definitely has ability. The jury is still out in my opinion, as to whether or not he will make it.
  16. The proposition is interesting, but what would be more interesting is the backlash from posters around about now as the results of Pelle's winter hibernation, and Wanyama's utter lack of interest would be showing right about now.

    JWP

I thought he played well at the San Siro too. Perhaps helped by the system Inter play as he seemed to have more time and space than in the Prem. Not taking anything away as he played extremely well.
  18. I realise we all have differing opinions, but JWP receives snide comments from some even after a reasonable game. He had a few timely clearances, passed well and was generally tidy in this game. He would have had two assists from his free kicks had Longs first touch hadn't let him down and Charlie Austin had a half yard more pace. All round a sound performance.
  19. It's not as though Tadjic doesn' have previous, and he's a fairly ordinary penalty taker.
  20. I had to wait until Sunday to see the game, and even then it was an Arsenal TV Commentary. I looked as best I could at the incident and replay And think it was a difficult decision in real time, but the replay showed Fonte With a handful of shirt pulling Giroud to the ground. This has been pointed out as a clear infringement by officials this season. Have to agree re foul on Long and the overlooked head injury though.
  21. Whether or not the "author" is wrong with his theory I don't know that we can dismiss or endorse it out of hand. Maybe this could be the exception that proves the rule or undermines it a bit, but Ya Ya Toure was not a winger and happened to be, (when he could be bothered),one of the best midfielders I've ever seen. Of course that's just an opinion, much the same as most have opinions without much in the way to back up aforesaid opinions.
  22. I hope it's because this has dragged so long, but after all the rave reviews I'm starting to think he might turn out to be more Tabbadt than Hazard! I fervently hope I'm wrong.
  23. I think the bloke in the comments section summed it up. "but fhe lad can dribble a bit"
  24. Is there the slightest possibility of a functioning Labour government within the next twenty five years, or even longer? Corbyn as leader or not; imagine by some miracle being in a situation of winning enough votes to enable it to form a government with the SNP's backing. I'd give it eighteen months and England would secede from Scotland after the crap they'd have to take from the poison dwarfs,( politicians that is), northof the border.
