Got a really bad feeling about this game. MK Dons will be right up for this with nothing to lose. Our form of late has been anything but inspiring....hate to say it but i can see us losing this game and badly!

Difference is Barnard has proven himself to be a goalscorer at this level....in the top 4 for goal scorers in this league this season....that you cant argue about!!

He's a proven goalscorer at this level and must be half decent as his was on Spurs books prior to joining Southend. His contract expires this year and it makes sense for them to sell him now when its obvious the lad will walk for nothing if they dont. Whether he comes to us or not is a different question all together. Would like us to add at least an attacking/creative midfielder and a striker in this window and Barnard wouldn't be a bad start!

Good to see an honest assesment from Pardew about todays game. He knows we didnt play well for long periods today and got the luck which so often deserts us. Confidence is a such a huge thing for any footballer and anyone who plays the game at whatever level will know what i'm talking about. The players go onto the pitch knowing we have not won a league game for months, they know we are expected to win this game easily and they are anxious they do not make mistakes that prevent us from winning. I thought the game today was generally garbage with a few odd exceptions but that win will have shaken off the fear factor from most of the players now and they know we are one win away from having a positive Saints point tally!! Out of interest Mike how many confirmed players do we have?? And you know me, i hate losing even in the kick abouts, there's noway i'm letting this lot beat us. They can learn the hard way....charity is for OXFAMS!!! Move on please, victory for the forum team....oh and please make sure they are all wearing Saints red and white!!

the game is against a team i have just started to coach. Anyone that does the reffing job will get no abuse, i can gaurantee that. I will be playing for the forum side and i will make sure the opposition are well aware of what is exceptable.....saying that I KNOW THESE LADS DONT NEED TELLING!!!

Have to admitt i'm i am now seriously worried for the forthcoming season. We start on -10 points with a squad wholley inadequate as it currently stands. We play QPR on Saturday which would have been the last chance for any new players to get a chance to gel! The earlier optimism i had for this season is fast receeding. Don't get me wrong i'm happy to still have a team to support but typically Saints i think our hopes were all raised when this new owner came in.

Sorry for any shouting at the back, i'm so used to barking orders to the Saturday side i play for, still very well done everyone on my side for defending really well and putting in so much effort.

I hope when he says we will need one or two new faces he actually means 5 or 6 new faces at the very least, otherwise we are in for another long hard season.

Really enjoyed it today, very even match. Was amazed it was still 0-0 after 40 minutes but goes to show how much effort was being put in. Was pleased to get a couple of goals, especially the header from the corner. Looking forward to next week already
