  1. In over 50 years of following Saints i have never felt so MEH about Saints and football in general. I've been choosing to go out with the wife shopping, for a walk or some distant friends party as an excuse not to watch Saints. I've gone way past the angry stage......I just don't care anymore.
  2. I absolutely detest MUSK. He is an absolute bellend and a bloody dangerous one at that. I wouldnt be quite so concerned about him had he not had the ear of another equally total bellend in Trump!
  3. Not expecting any Christmas miracles today. It will take the new guy a few weeks (which we don't have) to get the players proper match fit for his brand of football. I am at least encouraged enough by our efforts in the last game that i will watch this afternoon to see what differences there are. Think Wet Spam will be too strong for us unfortunately.
  4. finding it really difficult to get excited about a new manager, none of the names mentioned excite me in the slightest. It kinda sums up my whole feeling about Saints and football right now.
  5. I have a close friend that knows Tyler and the Dibling family very well. By all accounts Tyler is a very level headed lad who values friends and family first and foremost and who is a very quiet lad. I totally agree with the above that this sounds like agent bollocks just trying to squeeze more out of Saints at a time where the club would be desperate not to lose their prized asset.
  6. I've have been mainly numb this season. The heavy defeats in past seasons ruined my weekends and i was so angry with the players (rarely the manager). I watched the first half last night and was mainly laughing, yes laughing at how bad we were against a makeshift Spurs. I just felt nothing towards my team i have supported for well over 50 years. I said to my wife at 0-3 down RM would be gone at full time, i just knew the way he walked down the tunnel before the whistle had even gone that he knew he was already sacked. I hold no bad feelings towards RM because last season was mainly very enjoyable with a brilliant finale. This season he has been found out to be a one trick pony that most teams had worked out how to play against when we were in the Championship. I do hold bad feelings towards our inept board who allowed such awful transfers and owners that allowed a board that clearly have no idea to stay in charge for so long. The players need to take a long hard look at themselves. Some i would be happy to never see kick a ball professionally again.
  7. I think you have it pretty much right. I have no doubt whoever eventually replaces RM will have been told that they MUST play the current style of football but with better results. Basically coach the errors out of the team that there are currently and turn them into a goal scoring machine. I know Christmas is approaching but i for one don't believe in miracles!!
  8. you may be absolutely correct and if that is the case then nothing they have done since makes any sense at all
  9. There must be a point where the owners accept that we are relegated and that a change of manager will make no change at all. I honestly thought before a ball was kicked this season we would be relegated and i honestly think a change in manager now will not change that. Do i think we will appoint a new manager? Well i didn't until last weekend and heard RM's prematch comments and his comments after the game. Now i think a change is coming but who and on what basis god only knows. If we are to believe the rumours that the Man City number 2 was lined up then this only further confirms the owners want any manager coming in to play the same style of football. I actually think the owners did not expect us to be promoted at the first time of asking (we were not one of the best 3 sides in the Championship) I think the plan for Southampton is a long term one with whoever is the manager being asked to play a certain way (I believe RM was chosen as manager because of how his teams play and he is playing the system asked of him) We just clearly do not have the players to play it. For me this season is a combination of the board already accepting we were promoted a season too early and with too many Championship players on long contracts. So many of our transfers say "this player will be perfect for a promotion push in the Championship". It's a bloody depressing state of affairs for us fans but i am desperately trying to see inside whatever the bigger picture is.
  10. Cooper.....Really, FFS is that how low we have sunk?
  11. This is the first season in well over 50 years that i have pretty much stopped watching Saints. I've watched maybe 4 games this season and that was enough to convince me its not worth ruining my weekends by watching Saints. I didn't watch the game yesterday and when i looked at the final score i didn't feel anything, that's pretty much what Saints have done to me!
  12. an easy win for Wolves i'm afraid. We concede far too many goals and struggle massively to score. Wolves are a much better side than us and i just cannot see them failing to get their first league win of the season.
  13. I decided to watch it and thought we deserved our bit of luck at the end. I do wish some people would just enjoy our first league win of the season rather than slate the team and say it was a crap performance. It wasn't exactly exciting, it was very patient. It only really livened up once Dibling came on. Enjoy the 3 pts everyone
  14. Seeing where you are going for the game tonight i reckon you could make it to the UK in time for the Saints game tomorrow. Straight after the game pop down to the beach with a dingy and paddle out to the English 12 mile limit and get a free lift by Border Force to Ramsgate, from there jst thumb a lift to Southampton. Good chance of making kickoff!
  15. I didn't watch the game against City last week and instead spent the afternoon with the wife. Watched the midweek Cup game and wished i had been with the wife instead. (She was in Liverpool on a works jolly) At the moment i'm leaning towards spending the afternoon with the wife again tomorrow.
  16. haha Liverpool
  17. confidence is very low, you can see it in players. Ramsdale is starting to look wobbly and i don't blame him with the defence he has in front of him. Sugawara is another that appears to be conflicted. Is he having his natural game coached out of him? Downes has looked so ordinary and half the player he was last season. Fernandez is excellent but starting to look a very frustrated player. There is so little to be confident about. I cannot see anything but a bad loss.
  18. Commonwealth heads of government are preparing to defy the United Kingdom and agree plans to examine reparatory justice for the transatlantic slave trade, the BBC has learned. Downing Street insists the issue is not on the agenda for the summit of 56 Commonwealth countries, which begins in the Pacific island nation of Samoa on Friday. But diplomatic sources said officials were negotiating an agreement to conduct further research and begin a “meaningful conversation” about an issue which could potentially leave the UK owing billions of pounds in reparations. Ok, I know this is a sensitive subject for many and i will make it clear straight away that what happened in the past was wrong then and it's wrong now. However these events did not happen during our lifetimes and no one alive now should have to pay for what happened well over a hundred years ago and more. Where do we stop?? Should we go after the Denmark, Sweden and Norway for the Vikings invading our lands and taking slaves? Do we go after the Italians for invading our lands as part of the Roman Empire and taking slaves? (what did the Romans ever do for us?) No one alive should be apologising for historical events of the past. By all means acknowledge that these things were wrong by our human standards of today but apologise, NO. Those alive today have nothing to apologise about.
  19. Chris Kaba was a criminal who thought he could do absolutely anything he wanted to including attempted murder and get away with it. The public that might have been blind to this and believed the bullshit put out by his family and pathetic MP's with an agenda have now well and truly had their eyes opened. He lived by the sword and has died by the sword, that was his choice when he made the choice to live the lifestyle he did.
  20. I don't know if its an age thing or what. I used to get so angry and the weekend would be absolutely ruined if Saints lost. However now i'm mildly upset if we lose just like Saturday. 30 minutes after the final whistle i was over it. Maybe Saints have just worn me down over the years. I cannot get worked up over whether RM gets sacked or not!
  21. Don't know what our owners attendance has been like so far this season BUT they are definitely in attendance today. Win or lose i wouldn't expect RM to be sacked after todays game unless we get absolutely spanked. For my two pennies worth i do not advocate sacking RM yet. I said at the start of the season he should be given 10/12 games and nothing has changed my mind. Admittedly time and results are now against RM and if we fail to win today it really is difficult to see where the team will get the belief and confidence to go and get a win anytime soon.
  22. Anyone thinking Potter is coming here think again!
  23. It is easy to fall out of love with football when your team is in the Premier League. We don't have the money to compete with most clubs, our owners quite rightly are not prepared to gamble the clubs future by spending horrendous fees and wages and our reliance on uncovering gems has failed in the most. (I will accept we have had the odd one or two) I was speaking to a good friend at the weekend who is a Leeds supporter and although he admits losing to us a Wembley hurt, he and most Leeds supporters he knows are relieved they did not go up. He loves the Championship and i have to admit it I miss it as well. The last couple of weeks I have barely watched a Premier League game and have focused on watching La Liga and the MLS (Inter Miami). It's been far more enjoyable than watching my team get spanked week in week out!
  24. Who on here actually enjoys their Saturdays anymore, serious question! I hate being back in the Premier League. We all suspected we would be the weakest team and so it has come to pass. A lot of my mates stopped going to Saints games a couple of seasons ago and started going to watch Eastleigh, apparently it's a lot less stressful. I was asked last night will i watch todays game and i had no hesitation in saying why would i want to completely ruin my day. Instead i will probably watch the City v Fulham game.
  25. Deluded is the word that springs to mind and i'm not talking about RM I'm talking about most of those asking for his head and calling him vile names, shame on you! I've supported this team for over 50 years and seen all the highs and lows. Football has changed so much in that 50 years it is almost unrecognisable. The financial chasm between the top sides and the rest is so vast now that you really have to play financial roulette with a clubs future to have any chance of staying up and being competetive now in the Premier league. Our owners took the approach they would not risk the future of our club by spending ridiculous amounts on transfer fees and wages, which means we basically apart from the odd one or two have a Championship side competing in the Premier league. We will be relegated, i think most of us accepted that before a ball was kicked at the start of the season. Get of RM's back. Rant at the owners if you want, but this is football 2024 whether we like it or not!
