Rupert Lowe, you reap what you sow.
You had a solid manager in NP and once again you tinkered like the clueless fool you are.
With the tough set of fixtures we have coming up it wouldn't surprise me if JP walks\is sacked and Lowe takes over to save costs.
Watford Home Draw
Sheffield United Away Lose
Swansea Away Lose
Coventry Home Lose
Preston Away Lose
Bristol City Home Draw
Wolves Home Lose
Reading Away Lose
Plymouth Home Win
Charlton Away Lose
A tough set of fixtures and only 5 points I'm afraid.
Looking at the next 6 league games:
Watford (h), Sheff U (a), Swansea (a), Cov (h), Preston (a), Bristol C (h)
I'll be surprised if we get more than 3 points out of that lot so you might need to brace yourself for crowds of 10k (or even lower).
That was a bit of a reality check for the more delusional on this forum but I'm sure the young lads will learn.
We really need Stern John up front preferably with McGoldrick. Expecting a young lad to lead the line on his own is too much. As soon as SJ came on we had presence up front, up till that point we were powder-puff.
Was also surprised at how slow the defence was, Blackpool weren't exactly fast going forward but they still managed to cut through our rearguard with ease.
Blackpool definately deserved to win and we need to learn ASAP as they are typical of what we are going to face this year.
I'm really happy about the team and manager, it seems they are generating some real excitement and that is great.
However to wipe the slate clean with Lowe after 3 games is hugely premature.
I for one want to see:
>If he won't crumble as soon as any bid comes in for any of our players.
>If he can keep a stable managerial environment for several seasons.
>If he can undo his previous damage and get us back to the prem.
If he can do those then I'll bury the hatchet but I'm a long way from thinking he's the best thing since sliced bread.
PS Congratulations to the team and manager on their fantastic performance yesterday.
Indeed.
I don't think that this is a knee jerk reaction for most fans. It's been brewing for years (nigh on a decade for me) and I would have thought that Lowe would have known this, then again this is Rupert Lowe we are talking about.
Why should anyone give someone who they consider to be totally inadequate any money atall? It's like throwing good money after bad, sooner or later the time comes when you say to yourself enough is enough.
In addition to this it's one of only two realistic weapons that most fans have (the other is to buy shares and vote him out) to get the message across, loud and clear.
It's a damn shame as this is my club but many fans will be wondering what's the point of paying a guy who they are sure will take us no-where?
I never boo the players and have backed all our managers to the hilt (I hated Lowe's managerial circus) as I believe in stability. However I have limits and Lowe broke them.
What Lowe needs to do is work tirelessly to find a successor and then resign at once.
I absolutely refuse to fund Lowe et al and if that means the club goes through serious pain then so be it. I will not fund a wrecking crew of a board.
Selling a good player like Davies for a paltry 1.5 M is typical for Lowe. Has he got any contingency plan if Killer's knee packs up? Nope, didn't think so.
The man is a slash and burn merchant, sure we save initial costs but all it gets us is implosion after implosion.
Weaker squads - losing games - less fans - less revenue - weaker squads and on and on we go until the bank pulls the plug on the whole operation.
We are where we are in large part because of his useless meddling.
If he was any good he'd have been offered work elsewhere but I didn't see a stampede of clubs banging down his door when we gave him the boot last time. Shame.
Lowe, do the decent thing and walk away. You are not welcome by the majority of the fans at SFC.
Yes me too, looking forward to quite a few aways.
The day Lowe goes is the day that the doors of SMS open up again to lots of fans.
As has been said on here before, support the team - not the board.
I'd forget the papers predictions, I doubt that any of them have picked up on the fact that Killer is back in the team.
If he can stay fit and play up to what we know he is capable of then we will have captured the best player of any Coke team in this transfer window (IMO).
If Killer and Andrew Davies can stay fit, Sneiderlin plays as well as ppl on here say he played against W.Ham and Rasiak stays and scores 20+ then we should be good for mid table.
