  1. He only really plays to his potential when he's looking for a contract. Shame because his potential is very good but he has to be bothered. Wih Raz & John we don't really need him IMO. I'd sell him for anything north of 750k.

    Leroy Lita

I think Rasiak & John are already good enough but adding Lita to the forward line would be a mouthwatering prospect. PS Isn't it great to be talking about players again rather than the boardroom!!
  3. From what I've read so far about AP if he isn't consistently 'interested' then he's not going to last too long here. That said I guess AP thinks he can consistently bring out his good side in which case we may have a decent player on our hands.
  4. If I'd bought the club I'd give Lawrie a permanent seat in the directors box. Hell I'd name a stand after him - he's a legend. Some of our greatest ever players only came here because of Lawrie and when he left we had the likes of LeTissier, Shearer and Wallace about to come through the ranks. If I met him I'd thank him. He is on a par with LeTiss for me.

    Rasiak

I can't believe the criticism of Rasiak - the guy is a proven goal scorer in the Coke (let alone this league) who the other clubs would love to have. If we play a Rasiak\John combo up front they will score a shed load of goals and give us a decent chance of playoffs IMO. If any 1 of the 3 established strikers has to go it's Saga for me - he only seems to play to his full potential (which is very good) when he's looking for a contract (though I'd rather he stayed). At the moment the strikers (plus KD) are the one area of this team that looks really good - assuming we can keep these guys.
  6. Would rather have Rasiak\John up front.
  7. It's a solid rather than spectacular appointment, but thats no bad thing. For me the question is 'has AP got what it takes to get us back to the prem?' - The answer is definately. If he can repeat his exploits with Reading\W.Ham then he's going to be a roaring success here. Welcome to the madhouse AP.
  8. Agree but would rather see John\Rasiak up front. It probably won't happen but if we could keep all 3 then the forward line is looking v.good. Just need a battling CH and 1\2 combative midfielders and I think we've got a decent looking team.
  9. Best of luck to the guy but unlike KD I guess he didn't fancy his chances of getting a new contract. Says it all really.
  10. ..... and if TA was appointed and went on to win the first 10 games then every supporter would be drooling over him. A lot of fans are very fickle. Of course it's up to the BoD to appoint the manager and they will go for whoever they think is the best choice, doesn't stop us having a little fun speculating though. Whoever it is I'll back them.
  11. Yes, to write off Shearer after 8 odd games in charge of a basket case of a club that always looked like relegation material is ridiculous. He made a mistake taking that job as it was a no win appointment carried out over an inadequate time scale - but to write him off on the evidence of 8 games is nuts. Adams on the other hand has had a decent crack at the whip and has done nothing of substance. The record of these two guys are very different.
  12. The Ajax game could be a bit of a horror show. Not sure if it's a good one for the boss to bring his mates to.......
  13. Although Strachan did fantastic here and got the team very fit the football was a bit robotic at times. KK would have us playing exciting stuff and has a brilliant promotion track record (as far as I know). He'd get us back to the prem. However he's getting older and I'm wondering if he'd be better at DoF with a young, hungry, energetic and driven protige under him - one that commands huge respect amongst players and fans, knows KK extremely well, is currently available and has strong connections to SFC - step forward Alan Shearer........
  14. KK or Shearer = manager LeTiss on the board
  15. Great news. Now if we can keep John and Rasiak (they would destroy defences in this league), get 1 or maybe 2 combative midfielders for a bit of steel in the middle and a good battling centre half then I think we'll have a shout at the playoffs. Now that our financial situation has dramatically changed I wonder if we won't be seeing more wavering players stay, just a shame it came too late for Surman and Dave McG but thats life I guess.

  17. Top 3 signings for me would be to keep Davies, John and Rasiak. On top of that I'd like to see a combative midfielder to give us a bit of steel in the middle of the park.
  18. Cheers! Just shows the power that fans can wield if they are motivated enough. Fingers crossed this is the beginning of something good at the club for a change.
  19. I wanted KK but am in two minds about Wotte. I like the fact that the guy has been loyal but I'm not convinced he could take us to where the new owner wants us i.e the prem. Someone like KK on the other hand could. TBH If I was taking over one of the first things I'd try to do before hiring the manager is tie down some of our big players - John, Rasiak and Davies before any of them go. Keep hold of these 3 and I think we've got a good chance of getting out of this league at the first attemp.
  20. Because it's a fantastic investment. This is a club with premier league facilities and support levels that due to be run by a procession of a**holes is currently languishing in div 1. With a modest outlay and a bit of TLC there's no reason why we can't get back to the premier league and be sold for a tidy profit.
  21. Because this is potentially an excellent investment for them. They get the club on the cheap, put a modest amount in with the aim of prem football then when they get back to the prem they sell up. They aren't doing this for the love of SFC.
  22. If no-one else wants S.John and Rasiak (and assuming we have a club) then it would be madness not to play them up front this season. Fingers crossed for a goal fest.
  23. I still have a strong feeling that Pinnacle's game plan was always to push this to the wire to squeeze the price down but unfortunately for them another group has come in with some financial muscle which may force them to act. If they weren't interested you would think that they would have backed off for good yet they still seem to be hanging around. They took a look at the books, decided they liked what they saw but wanted to get it at as low a price as possible so concocted an excuse over league points to soften Mr Fry up a bit. I think that MLT and TL were honest and acted with integrity but the money men are now calling the shots and they are going to play hard ball right till the bitter end. All IMO of course.
  24. Me too, I'm begining to think that all along their game plan was to drag this one out to the bitter end and that the league points issue was a red herring. I would imagine Mark Fry will become more 'amenable' to a new bid price the closer SFC comes to extinction and Fialka et al could save a considerable sum of money. My guess is the brinkmanship will go right to the wire.
  25. Its at times like this that you see who the loyal people are and Wotte has certainly acted loyally. Not my 1st choice as manager but someone who by his actions has warmed on me. Thanks Mark.
