  1. Wembley looks deserted.
  2. I think the top unis, Oxbridge at least have tutorials, one or two people in each, from the professors/doctors
  3. There we have what exactly...
  4. That may be what Sean Connery thinks, but it's not what Andy Murray thinks. As an article I read pointed out earlier, he lives in England, has an English girlfriend and much of his team in English. He also covered himself in the Union Flag and sung the national anthem and bar one comment in response to teasing by a reporter many many years ago when he was only 19(who is media trained at 19?!) there has never been anything to suggest that he hates England or doesn't consider himself British. Every indication he has ever given is that he considers himself Scottish and British, just as many English people consider themselves English and British... not that it matters in the slightest to his win! Edit: On a bit of research, I note that Sean Connery is a big supporter of the SNP so he is inevitably going to try and make the anti-British point. I also note that he is a 'Knight Commander of the British Empire'. Maybe if he feels so strongly about Britain in this way, he should hand back his title.
  5. Absolutely useless if mobile operators continue to have ridiculously low data usage allowances. Although, the upgrade to 4G should bring more capacity. I think I read somewhere that the trial in London for 4G had more capacity than the whole of 3G for O2 in the UK. But of course, whether they reflect this higher capacity depends on what they put first; profits or user experience.
  6. Just setting in now. And I think it is a valid point that has been made by many that Andy has won his first Grand Slam in an especially tough era. Federer, Nadal and Djokovic won theirs against Philippoussis, Puerto and Tsonga who with the greatest respects are no where near the players the latter 3 are. He has always been good enough to do it, it's just been the mental block and I feel like that is gone now. I think he will win the Australian Open.
  7. I think these ranking style systems are always very variable from one to the other. And I think it's very difficult to distinguish between the top few. For an example of the variance, in the times one buctootim mentioned UCL is only in 17th which is a big difference to 4th in QS(Cam and Ox in 4th and 5th respectively). I think what we can say though is that we have some top top universities in the UK, especially our big London ones and Oxford and Cambridge, although we shouldn't forget a few notables others... for example Manchester always does excellently in world rankings. I don't think there is a huge amount of difference between the top 5-10 or so though.
  8. Get in! What a phenomenal match from two phenomenal players... but absolutely fantastic performance from Murray. He looks physically exhausted... but come on! Grand Slam champion!!!!!
  9. What an incredible hold. Not even one groundstroke needed.
  10. A break isn't anything without a hold to accompany it. Come on now Murray. Carry this through.
  11. Right, another go at Djokovic's serve. Come on Andy!
  12. Djokovic is a brick wall, I'm convinced of it.
  13. He's on the board. That's important.
  14. First time he's ever done 2 in a Grand Slam final. Here's to hoping he can do it one more time tonight! Incredible match though.
  15. ********.
  16. What Murray doesn't want to do here is lose his serve.
  17. Is always lovely to break after serving first. Means you can quickly establish a nice 3-0 lead. Still only one break though and early days.
  18. Wow, the tennis quality in this match is incredible and it is so so close.
  19. Murray in 4. He's ready.
  20. I still think it is awful. Saints have red and white stripes. The Sash was a nice touch for a year without the sponsor and so on, but we should play in red and white stripes because we are Southampton and that is that!
  21. Yet another Grand Slam final for Murray. Can he do it this time?!
  22. Seems? How does he know?! They both need to grow up. Does this stem from the whole pinnacle big stuff when they got exclusivity etc
  23. Come on, let's not be too harsh. We were playing Man Utd and we are Southampton.
  24. At Wigan, he looked the weaker of the two between Hooivelt and him. I think Yoshida should replace him in time. Maybe that'll make him up his game, he is too one footed.
  25. Was at work during this so had to 'watch' it on twitter. Bloomin' nervewracking! Speaken to people since though and it sounds like we played well. I'm not too concerned, as anything today would have been a bonus though I am disappointed of course! But hey, real season starts next week or so for us now we have all our players in place.
