I'd rather West Ham won. The more distance between us and the Relegation zone, the better.

What the **** is happening?

The legal differences between a Gay civil union and a Gay marriage

Why not? Under what prerogative? Christianity does not own the word marriage. -
In fairness to Gazzaniga, he really is very young(I mean he was born in the same year as me, and I'm pretty damn young), so he'll learn and get better. Goalkeepers don't peak till late twenties to early thirties.

I'm not a Labour supporter, but presumably they believe the economy would have continued in the growth it showed in their final year and that they could have built on that and so the economy would not have been in such a bad condition as it is now.

Some of you lot are silly! There's more to life than boring legal technicalities. We're humans, we have culture and we can think in ways other animals can't. Because of that subtleties such as semantics matter a great deal. -

Incorrect, this government actually has a greater mandate in percentage vote than any government for a long long time. It has well over 50% of the vote. We don't vote for an executive. We vote for a legislature, and then it is up to them pretty much to form a government. -

Equal Marriage was in the Lib Dem manifesto though... and this is a coalition government. By that logic, the Lib Dem's should have absolutely nothing, and that is not how coalition works. Anyways, it's all irrelevant now we have equality. Good stuff. -

Fantastic stuff. Finally - equal marriage. -
Labour's plan involved a bit less cutting, and a bit more spending. I think it was 12.5% less cuts? And another year delay possibly. One way to reduce debt is to grow your economy, something that just isn't happening right now and hasn't happened since this current government has come in. Though there is only so much you can do in a globalised world.

But again, I don't really see how UKIP are gonna have a big base here. If you look at polls, Lib Dem voters are on average much more pro-EU than voters of any of the other 2 parties and so are much more likely to never vote UKIP. I don't think they have it, they could kill the tory vote though. It could be very interesting with 4 parties getting a decent turnout. Either that or the Lib Dem vote will hold up.
-
Why should this rightly affect the Lib Dem vote? Surely the acts of an individual do not represent the collective? Did all Conservatives become criminals because of Lord Archer?
-
Liberal Democrats don't just support PR because it would get them more seats. Not everything in politics is cynical. The Liberal Democrats are a radical party, and are mainly driven by constitutional issues such as PR and Lords Reform and what not. They aren't a traditional left-right party. Although now it might lead to a drop in seats(or maybe roughly the same number 10% or so), a few years back when they were more popular more may have voted. Although to be honest, we have no idea how it would pan out without the pressure of tactical voting.

I quite agree with you. I don't know whether Miliband could get elected as a majority right now, I tend to agree with you that he is no Blair or so on. But the scary thing is, he is probably more likeable than Cameron and co who have still to properly convince the public. Don't forget that Cameron failed to win an election against the most unpopular PM since probably Anthony Eden. I think the likely outcome of any election held in the near future would be a Labour led coalition with a severely reduced Lib Dem cohort(maybe about 25?).
-
I do think if the Lib Dems lose this one, it could spark a very big panic. The Lib Dems have been banking on a strategy of retention and looking at the local election results, this is really a seat they should retain if they don't want to wiped out. I know that it is a slightly different environment because it is a by-election, but I think there is a lot riding on the result of this... including perhaps the future of the coalition and Nick Clegg's leadership. Of course, the last thing the tories want at the moment is the collapse of the coalition as they would never win an election, so will be extremely interesting.
-
Will be interesting to see how the by-election goes given the Lib Dems continued strong performance in the area in local elections.

Surely the argument here shouldn't be over personal opinion's of people who happen to be from Poland's personalities. Like anywhere in the world, you will find people from Poland you like and people that you don't. The argument needs to be over relative contribution, both economic and cultural to the UK. And for what it is worth, I think Poles have contributed a lot to the UK in recent years.
-
Okay, well, even though I wasn't watching so generally have no idea as to our performance... it is only 1-0, so easily overturnable. Not to the panic stations yet.
-
So... I missed the first half. What is going on?!
-
Definitely on the reassessment stuff. Good strikers do a lot more than be goal-scoring machines. And at the level we are at, we are probably only gonna have one 'big scoring' striker. And even if you look at Lambert, he does a lot more than score goals with his hold up play and assists and so on.

In fairness, pretty much the whole team has been silenced by Man U. I can't really thing of anything particularly wrong Ramirez has done bar that free kick... but that happens sometimes.

Don't listen to terrypward, it's a rip-off and a scam and there is no need to pay for access to anything like this.
