I doubt she will ever be in a position to anything like that again because of the witchhunt of her for a crime her boyfriend committed. She never committed murder! She had nothing to do with it. She just stupidly provided an alibi because she believed her husbands innocence.

But she didn't know he murdered them, she didn't murder them. She had absolutely nothing to do with the murders. Evil is a strong word. Too strong for her case.

Maxine Carr didn't know he had murdered the two girls. He was arrested and she created an alibi for him believing his innocence. Stupid and naive, but not the same as knowing he had done it.

Her crime was going out with the bastard and being in love with the bastard enough to protect him and believe his word. Yes, she is stupid and naive and in the wrong, but she is not in the same league as huntley.

Ian Huntley is the bastard, Maxine Carr actually had nothing to do with the murders itself. Infact she was in grimsby at the time of the murders. She provided a false alibi for Huntley believing his word that he as innocent. She's naive and stupid, but not a child murderer.
